This Server Needs Less Sadness and More Laughter

Summary:

What if the Vanossgaming crew ended up on the DreamSMP and affected the lore?

Notes:

Work Text:

Vanoss is the first to arrive on the DreamSMP during before Tommy era. He'd antagonize the Dream team (Dream, Sapnap and George) just because he was bored and his friends weren't on the server.

He'd blow stuff up so much that TommyInnit would be considered by Dream to be a "Harmless child" in comparison up until the Disk War.

The Disk War and War for Independence would go down very differently. Vanoss, alongside the rest of the VanossGaming crew when they do enter the server, join L'manburg in the war and, while they aren't the best fighters, they still manage to defeat the Dream team and win L'manburg's independence. Dream doesn't strike the deal with Eret and thus, Eret doesn't betray L'manburg.

Cocoanut 2020 ends up winning the election after Banana Bus 2020, feeling like Fundy deserves to win after all the mockery he endured, combines their votes with Cocoanut 2020. Though Vanoss just uses his governmental position to mess with everyone else on the server.

When Technoblade shows up, Vanoss thinks he's Wildcat in a costume and offers to make him a official citizen of "L'manoss" (his suggestion for a new name for L'manburg) but Technoblade silently refuses the offer.

Since L'manburg wasn't doing anything that Technoblade considers tyrannical, he decides to leave them alone since he prefers if his enemies struck first.

However, Dream decides to stir up some dissension among the L'manburg government by kidnapping Wildcat and telling the VanossGaming Crew to give up TommyInnit or he'll kill Wildcat.

Vanoss, not taking Dream's threat seriously, says "Suck it, green boy!"

Dream kills Wildcat, taking one of his canon lives in the process.

Marcel, who has actually been taking the lore and the governmental position somewhat seriously, chews Vanoss out for letting one of their friends be killed and the L'manburg government holds a vote over who should be exiled to appease Dream: TommyInnit or Vanoss.

While a few people make their case as to why TommyInnit should be exiled, the vast majority of the L'manburg government vote to exile Vanoss which causes an argument among the rest of the VanossGaming Crew. Dream tries to use the same tactics he (in canon) used on TommyInnit during the Exile arc but Vanoss, taking none of the lore seriously, bushes it all off.

Eventually, Dream just decides to try and take all of Vanoss' own canon lives out of rage and chases him.

While Vanoss ends up escaping from Dream, he ends up completely lost and ends up at Technoblade's place.

Technoblade hasn't had to deal with The Butcher Army in this timeline so he's still chilling in his place when Vanoss enters and steals some stuff to build a house, causing a chase to happen but no canon lives lost.

When Technoblade finds out that Vanoss was exiled, he's at first laughing at Vanoss' expense but then he decides to help Vanoss get supplies and hide him from Dream.

Ultimately, Vanoss decides to stay with Technoblade until the Fundy, who's still the president of L'manburg, arrives to tell Vanoss that he can return to L'manburg since it was only a temporary exile.

Although Dream killing Wildcat did cause some dissension, ultimately TommyInnit and Fundy convinces them that Dream is the main threat and that "fighting amongst ourselves is playing into his hands" and Vanoss goes to Technoblade for help.

The Doomsday war this time round is Technoblade and the L'manburg government vs the Greater DreamSMP. It's a curb stomp with the DreamSMP castle toughly obliterated.

Since Dream doesn't have the revive book and nobody has lost all three of their canon lives yet, Vanoss takes Dream's first canon life, Fundy takes Dream's second canon life, and Technoblade stole Dream's third canon life from Terroriser.

With Dream gone, Technoblade asks that the L'manburg government be disbanded since they could end up being tyrannical in the future. Fundy decides to let the citizens of L'manburg decide whether or not the government should be disbanded.

While the vote is close, the choice to disband the government wins. Fundy officially disbands the L'manburg government dubbing L'manburg a official refuge from any tyranny that might emerge on the server.

Technoblade, satisfied that there are no more governments on the DreamSMP, leaves for parts unknown much to Vanoss' disapproval.

The entire server just does their own thing, though Vanoss and Tommyinnit do create chaos to alleviate the boredom once in a while

After L'manburg's government disbanded, the Eggpire tried to seize power.

The threat of the Eggpire didn't last long.

Though conflict and troubles would still be ahead, ultimately the DreamSMP would end when the entire server decided to ban together and kill the Enderdragon, ending with the VanossGaming Crew being teleported back to their Minecraft server and everyone else being teleported to different servers.

After all, it was as Wilbur said

"It was never meant to be."

Notes:

Every member of the Vanoss Crew has three canon lives at the beginning of the lore.
