Work Text:

Thorn had been fixing up the Scorpion Den as long as she could remember, and now she was queen, well she could finally finish what she started! Her first case was "Loams Circus!".  The circus had been reported by Qibli and Winter, they had been exploring when they found it. They described it in little detail, but what they did was enough to thwart Thorn to do something.

Thorn walked through the familiar stalls of the den, it was just as loud, and chaotic as she left it. After around an hour of walking, she found it. A large circus tent, laughter, and the smell of popcorn radiated from the tent. She walked into the establishment, and was met with a horrific sight. a large circular pedastal surounded by water. Dragons were performing, all of them dehydrated, malnourished, bleeding, dying.

Seawings swimming through the red tinted water, some with ripped out eyes, tails mangled. Rainwings fighting in the middle, dead bodies scattered around. Icewings chiseled sculptures from frozen dragons, alive. Sandwings without hind legs, or wings performed acrobatics. Dragons of all tribes nearing them last breath performed.

Only after seeing this did she look up. Hybrids. Hybrids having been brutally beaten, and mutilated. Blood gushing, from where limbs, tails, horns, or wings. Thorn saw an enormous cage where two dragons were, a large, bulky mudwing, and a silkwing, nightwing, hybrid, dragonet. The mudwing slashed at the dragonet with their claws, their throat. The dragonets screams were gargled with blood.

Thorn finally moved, she treaded towards a gaurd, her claws scraping on the sandy floor. "Take me to Loam, now." The dragon looked at her annoyed until he realized who was speaking. "Oh-shit. um of course your majesty!" The two dragons paced a large hallway. "um, the second door to your left."

Thorn walked cautiously through a beaded curtain, into a small room with decorated with maps, charts, cages, and beads. Pillows and chairs were scattered across the gound. In the middle was a large desk, where a sandwing, presumably Loam was sat. "I thought i asked not to be bothered?" The dragon looked over their shoulder and stood.

Their face was covered with a skull, a seawings probably. they wore a long, plaque cloak that covered their wings. A fake barb was attached to their tail, it was most likely lost to the war.

"hm? Oh, Queen Thorn what a pleasure to see you here!"
