Just Consume Me Whole

Summary:

Akito and Toya are smitten with each other, that's for certain. So much that they barely think anything of it when one of them climbs through the other's bedroom window in the middle of the night.

Work Text:

Toya: >> Are you awake?

Akito had received that text at around 2AM. The sound of the notification coming from the nightstand made Akito stir awake with a groan. At first, he had flopped his arm outward in order to lazily pat at the top of his alarm clock to stop the noise. He quickly realized he wasn't getting anywhere, though, and was thus forced to sit up.

"It's 2 in the damn morning..." Akito grumbled upon looking at his clock. With a sigh, he then took his phone into his hand in order to see what the deal was. He winced as the brightness of the screen flashed in his face, needing to take a moment to adjust to the blinding colors before actually doing anything.

Once he was actually able to see, he read the message. He let out a small chuckle, all of his drowsy annoyance instantly evaporating in that moment. Well, if he was going to be forced awake at 2AM, it may as well have been at the hands of his boyfriend, right?

Akito: >> i am now. sup?

Toya: >> I can't fall asleep.

Akito turned on his side, smiling to himself as he read the message. Akito had always found it strangely adorable how Toya would type in complete sentences, as if he were writing a book or essay rather than texting his boyfriend at 2AM. And, more importantly, the implication that Toya had been staying up late at night thinking of him. Still, Akito needed to play it cool.

Akito: >> what, you need me to sing you a lullaby or something?

Toya: >> Do you mind if I come over?

Akito nearly choked on air as Toya brushed past his teasing, catching him utterly off guard with that question. Akito's finger hovered over his keyboard, his mind and heart fighting a brutal battle over whether he should let his instant urge to accept take over.

His mind lost the battle horribly.

Akito: >> yeah sure. just be quiet about it

Toya: >> Thank you, Akito. I'll be there in roughly 15 minutes.

Akito sighed with relief, setting his phone back down on the nightstand before promptly burying his face into his hands. "Jesus Christ on a fucking cracker, I'm stupid..."

What the hell was he thinking?! It was 2AM, he couldn't come to his house! Akito would get scolded for letting him inside and Toya would definitely get in deep trouble when his father realized he snuck out, much less to see Akito. Why did he have to be such a moron...?

He knew why, actually. It was because he was an idiot who was so utterly in love with his boyfriend that he couldn't help but bow down to his every desire. If it made Toya happy, he couldn't help but instantly cave even if it would ultimately have unsavory consequences for him.

He couldn't blame himself, though. Toya was incredible. He was talented, had an adorable personality, practically praised Akito's every breath and was so gorgeous that Akito still couldn't believe he agreed to go out with him. It would be a bit difficult to not spoil somebody who made him feel so completely loved.

The passage of time quickly became drowned by these thoughts, so much that the sound of a gentle knock upon Akito's bedroom window startled him into an upright position. Akito took a quick but deep breath before standing up, pulling apart the curtains to be met with the face of Toya himself.

"Hi, Akito." Toya greeted a bit awkwardly, his face contorting into a warm smile as he was granted the sight of his boyfriend. Akito couldn't help but think that Toya looked nothing short of ethereal right now, dressed in much-too-baggy sweatpants and a t-shirt he'd taken from Akito's room a few days prior. His hair had been messed up into an adorable bedhead as well, putting together a look that made Akito want to yank Toya into a kiss before he had even gotten inside.

Akito felt his own face fill with color as he returned Toya's smile. He let out a subsequent sigh of light exasperation, leaning down to crook his hands against the slightly-opened windowsill. "Dude, your dad's gonna completely freak if he finds out you snuck out."

"That can be a problem for future Toya, then." Toya said plainly as the window opened, not even an ounce of hesitation present in his entire body as he crawled inside. It seemed he was completely confident in his decision, so Akito couldn't really argue against it.

"Jeez, what am I gonna do with you, you rebel?" Akito joked, chuckling as his boyfriend instantly dove in for a chaste pucker kiss. Akito wrapped his arms around Toya's neck, reciprocating without much thought.

"You made me like this." Toya retorted, the tiniest semblance of a pout cracking through his face. Slender, gentle hands came down to rest at Akito's waist, pulling Akito closer as if they weren't already basically locked together.

It was true, too. Before Akito came along, sneaking through someone else's bedroom window would be something completely unheard of for Toya. And yet here he was, standing in his boyfriend's room at 2AM without any regard for the massive amount of trouble he would surely get in for pulling such a stunt.

"Pfft. Then I guess I have to clean up after your messes, then." Akito laughed, leaning in for a sweet kiss once more. Toya kissed back in a heartbeat, fingers rubbing small circles into Akito's waist as the short distance between them was closed.

Every kiss the two shared was, for lack of a better word, magical for both of them. It was like they'd been put under a spell which evaporated the world around them as their lips connected, a spell which compelled them to slip deeper into mindless bliss with each breathless slot of their lips. They couldn't help but fall for it each and every time.

To them, each kiss felt just as incredible as the first one they ever shared. The only difference was that they had grown better at the act since the initial clumsy awkwardness they pushed through so long ago. They'd grown better at loving each other too, at being loved by one another.

It was just... perfect. So much that Akito hadn't even noticed just how much breath had been knocked out of his lungs until Toya was barely pulling away. The lack of coordination caused their legs to tangle as they failed to redistribute their weight, effectively forcing them to topple onto the bed.

"...Ouch." Toya complained, once again making Akito laugh. The latter sat up, straddling Toya with a loving glimmer in his eye even as he was in the midst of catching his lost breath.

"My bad. You okay?" Akito asked breathily, moving his hand down to retuck that ludicrously long strand of Toya's hair behind his ear.

Toya then let out a small noise of what seemed to be amusement in turn, placing his own hand over Akito's affectionately. "Yes, I'm alright. Thank you for asking. You were just a bit heavy."

"Wowww." Akito feigned annoyance, scoffing dramatically. Despite this, he leaned downward in order to reinitiate their kiss, all the banter instantly vanishing the moment their lips were able to reconnect.

Again, they were under that intoxicating spell. Akito had Toya pinned to the bed, giving him complete control of the exchange as they dove back into stealing each other's breath. Toya didn't seem to mind the unintentional entrapment, though, merely guiding his hands back to their rightful place on Akito's hips and going with the flow.

Kissing Toya felt so... right. Nothing had ever come as naturally to Akito as loving the boy beneath him did, and he often felt like the both of them were specifically designed for the purpose of loving each other. There was no other explanation for why they were so utterly whipped for each other.

Akito took notice of the way Toya's eyes always slowly fluttered shut once they got really into it. A sign that all his senses had dissolved to become pure focus on the way Akito's lips moved against his. Even better was when Akito would pull away from such a kiss. The brief dazed look and subsequent pout of disappointment on Toya's face as he was forced to reaccomodate his situation and surroundings was downright adorable.

Akito moved his hand up to tangle it in two-toned hair, the bed slightly creaking as he pushed to deepen their kiss. Toya's hair was soft, fluffy... yet a bit cold, like the lingering remains of dampness were still fresh on it. Ah, he probably showered before bed.

Akito finally pulled away, taking in a small breath as he sat up. God, Toya looked even more breathtaking than the feeling of the kiss itself like this. Akito was nearly tempted to grab his phone and snap a picture to preserve the moment while it was fresh before him, but he wouldn't do that. After all, Toya was his boyfriend now. He could bear witness to his beauty any time he wanted, and with the comfort of knowing only he had the privilege of witnessing it to boot.

"You're so pretty..." Akito finally managed to mumble out, the hot puff of air that came with Toya's subsequent laugh making Akito flinch.

Another brief kiss was pressed to Akito's lips, this time initiated by Toya as the latter's hands slid upward to hook around the back of Akito's neck. "Were you complimenting me or reading my mind? Because I just had the same thought."

Akito's cheeks flushed red at these words, being met with nothing but a smirk from the boy below. Toya really knew how to play his cards in a way that would fluster Akito beyond belief, didn't he? Though, to Akito, it was endearing that he was capable of bringing out such a side of Toya.

Similarly, Toya found it as amusing as it was adorable that he could render Akito speechless so easily. Akito was seen as a polite young man to strangers, the god of sweet tooths to every local cafe and a walking cactus to everyone else. But only Toya could see the full extent of his character, like Akito was a book filled with a secret script only decipherable to him alone.

"Where'd you learn to be such a smooth talker, huh? I know damn well it wasn't me." Akito jokingly pried, nudging Toya in the chest as he laid his weight atop the other boy.

"I'm self-taught, believe it or not." Toya returned the energy as Akito collapsed atop his chest, his heart thumping wildly as opposed to the cool-yet-playful demeanor he chose to keep up.

"Yeah yeah, sure you are." Akito grumbled, lighthearted sarcasm permeating his strained tone as he scooched himself up ever so slightly to give Toya another smooch.

Though it was intended to be brief, Toya quickly took advantage of the gesture by placing a hand to the back of Akito's head and pushing their mouths back together. Akito's eyes widened at first, but he was far from loath to abandon his reservations yet again and simply melted into the embrace.

"...I love you, Toya." Akito whispered onto Toya's lips, almost like he hadn't intended for it to slip out.

"I love you too, Akito." Toya returned with a hum, punctuating his reciprocation with another soft peck.

"No, you don't get it. Like... I love you. I really, really, seriously love you."

Toya's expression softened into one of sheer fondness, welling up with adoration. Still, his smile never faded, his free hand coming to brush Akito's ever-messy bangs out of his face so he could view him clearly. "Yes, Akito. I really, really, seriously love you too."

"Let's get married." Akito declared, or maybe demanded, as he plopped back down onto Toya's chest.

"Akito..." Toya half-scolded. "We're still in high school."

"Don't care." Akito pouted. "Let's get married right now."

Toya laughed once again, a clear and beautiful sound that put Akito at ease every single time he heard it. He then lifted up Akito's chin so he could plant yet another of the many kisses they shared that night onto him. "Not right now. But someday we will, okay?"

"Okaaaay." Akito groaned like a child being scorned by their mother. He then promptly pressed his mouth onto Toya's once more, as if the years would go by faster if they stayed connected for long enough.

Toya hummed into the embrace happily. Even if he had completely run out of breath, there would never be a moment in which he would refuse Akito's affection. Well, it was a different story when Akito would desperately try to distract him from what was intended to be a study session with excessive cuddles, but this wasn't the same.

They had thought it a million times before, but "This feels right." was always the phrase that popped into both their minds whenever they kissed. There was no two ways about it, honestly. It just brought them a feeling of warmth and satisfaction they could never hope to achieve from anything else in the whole world.

Akito chased after Toya's lips with each breath he attempted to take, determined to steal it back with his own. He couldn't help his desire to be one with Toya, to simply melt together with him and live the rest of their days melded into something greater than either of their words or actions could ever hope to express.

This moment was perfect. Even if the circumstances leading up to it were ridiculous and would bite both of them in the ass later, it was perfect. There was nothing that could possibly spoil it.

At least, that was what they thought up until the moment the tell-tale sound of the bedroom door opening was heard. "Hey Akito, did you take my-"

Akito froze in place, staring at Ena through the doorway. Still straddling his boyfriend with their faces less than an inch apart from each other.

"...Hi, Toya."

"Hello, Ena."

"GET OUT!" Akito yelled at a pitch that was far higher than either of them thought he could reach, shooting upright as he threw a nearby plush at his sister.

Surprisingly, Ena didn't put up a fight. She flinched as the plush hit her face, but didn't complain beyond a quiet string of grumbly curses as she gently closed the door. At least she had enough tact to know she was in the wrong...

"I swear to fucking god..." Akito grumbled as he leveled himself off the bed, allowing Toya to finally sit up. Akito marched over to his door, scowling as he remedied the mistake of forgetting to lock it.

"Isn't that one of the plushies I asked you to pass along to Ena?" Toya asked, taking curiosity at the toy-turned-weapon laying on the floor. It was a blue bunny, and one that looked very well taken care of from the look of it. Well, aside from having been launched at Ena's face, anyway.

Akito instantly turned red as he went to pick the bunny up, embarrassed that he had been busted. "Well... It kinda reminded me of you, so... Sh-shut up, weren't we just making out a second ago?"

"Oh, that reminds me." said Toya, though he offered no further explanation before he began to wriggle the borrowed shirt he'd been wearing all night over his head.

"Toya, what the hell are you doing?"

"This shirt doesn't smell like you anymore." Toya explained as he folded the discarded article. "So I don't have any need for it. You can have it back now."

Akito turned positively scarlet at that, and Toya could almost hear the internet dial-up noise playing in his head... His brain shut off to the point of being unable to register the feeling of Toya tossing the shirt to him, causing it to fall against the floor and promptly undo Toya's efforts in folding it.

"Wai- You are not walking around my room shirtless. Take mine." Akito resolved once his final remaining brain cell kicked itself back into gear, promptly removing his own shirt and throwing it to Toya.

"But... now you don't have a shirt."

"...Oh yeah."

The two stood in silence for a moment. Honestly, Akito was so used to wearing at least two layers of clothes that he had completely forgotten he was only dressed in a loose tee and sweats that night. He eventually picked up the shirt Toya had unintentionally banished to the floor, awkwardly slipping it onto himself. Toya then followed through, effectively making them swap shirts.

"It smells like him..." they thought simultaneously, blushing to themselves as if they weren't currently mere feet apart and couldn't bask in each other's scent at any time they wanted.

Akito then rejoined Toya on the bed, sitting across from him as he leaned down to give him another kiss. "Let me guess. You're not gonna leave until morning, are you?"

"You want me to leave?" Toya pretended to pout, making Akito scoff. He might not have looked like it, but Toya most definitely knew how to turn up the cheek when he wanted to.

"Shut up, you big baby." Akito laughed, lightly bapping Toya on the chest. Toya allowed himself to be "knocked down", which then prompted Akito to stretch forward so the two could lay facing each other.

"Thank you for everything, Akito. I mean it." said Toya, his voice serious for a moment. "Not everyone would be willing to put up with such impulsivity, so it truly means a lot that you're so willing to go along with my desires."

Akito chuckled, feeling a bit sheepish now that Toya had begun to heap on his praises. "Welp... I'd be a pretty shit boyfriend if I didn't, so... y'know."

"Don't say that about yourself." Toya said firmly, scooching in so that he could press his forehead against Akito's. "Just by being who you are, you're already the greatest boyfriend I could ever ask for. Because it can only ever be you that I love, Akito."

Akito's words became stuck in his throat for a moment as he was made to flush red yet again. He never had any idea how to respond when Toya spat out such poetry as casually as he did. "I... Thanks, babe."

Toya simply chuckled, kissing Akito for what was surely the millionth time since their first. "You're very welcome. Why don't we rest? I'm feeling a bit sleepy now."

It was Akito's turn to chuckle this time, but he made no objection as he moved in closer to press his body heat into Toya's. "Yeah, and all it took was a hike halfway across the city and up the side of my house."

Toya hummed with amusement at this comment, his arms falling down as lightly as a feather upon snow as they wrapped around Akito. He pulled him close and kept him there, feeling his whole body instantly relieve itself of any lingering tension it may have had. "I suppose so... Good night then, Akito."

Toya's eyes then fluttered shut, and as if he had flipped a switch in his brain, he fell asleep. Akito smiled warmly at the sight, unable to contain just how strongly he adored his boyfriend. It truly just wasn't fair how perfect Toya was.

Sneakily, Akito reached behind himself in order to grab his phone. He then turned on the camera and, being as careful as possible to avoid letting the flash wake him up, took a picture of Toya's peaceful sleeping expression. Even if he now had the privilege of seeing this any time he wanted, he couldn't help wanting to preserve the memory sometimes.

"Night, Toya." Akito whispered, promptly drifting off in his arms.

"So... You and Toya, huh?"

"Shut the fuck up or I'm telling mom you snuck out to see Akiyama last week."
