Summary
August Novikov is once again a new student. She's scary for a girl and unusually unlikable for a teenager, but she's not the scariest or most unusual thing at this high school. The Cullen family lurks the halls, attending classes like any other student might, and she runs into them constantly. She's sat next to Renesmee Cullen and ends up becoming friends with her and gets to know the Cullen family- though only as the humans they pose to be. Their relationships holds strong for the remainder of high school and then they part ways. August sets out to explore her freedom, life as a foster kid was rough, and though her past haunts her, she's ready to discover everything life has in store.
I know that Twilight happens during the early 2000's so realistically this story would have to take place sometime after that but the mid to late 2000's are just not the vibe. Let's all pretend that technology and life does not really advance past 2013 in this world. I am also aware that the foster system in America, while not great, is not actually as bad as I've written it to be.
