Sammy.
Sammy, Sammy, Sammy...
A dedicated prophet. That's first. Secondly, he's loyal...he always liked to help his lord, no matter what. And if you ask the whole studio, I think everyone would say that if there's anything to it, it's more likely that Sammy has fallen in love with a demon.
Was it true? Half yes.
Why halfway? Because Sammy felt nothing for his master except respect, loyalty and admiration.
So... what is this book about if not about Sammy trying to win the heart of a demon?
Maybe about demon? Maybe this book will be a bit different than the rest, because we will have feelings from a different side than usual? About how the lord fell in love with his own servant?
Because the Ink Demon had such feelings. They only burned him from the inside when the prophet was around. But do you think it's easy to say "I love you" to someone? If it is for you, I will tell you that I envy you. For Ink Demon... it was definitely not easy. He waited years in confinement for someone to save him. He will pull you out of the abyss of suffering. He struggled with it for over thirty years - and no one came to help him. It wasn't even about Henry - nobody came at all. He knew that... after all, no one outside probably even knew about his existence. But the pain that no one had saved him from the torture... It still hurt. So...
He didn't really understand what love was.
It was for sure... A good feeling. But how do it feel? All the Ink Demon felt walking past his prophet was his burning heart. Audrey tried to improve the cycles - to make everyone happy. And it was better, although everyone knew that the demon would not stop hunting. He needs to eat too, though it was a pretty brutal turn of events. Sammy found some new friends in the new cycles and got the old ones back and was spending time with them now. Of course, I'm not saying that Sammy forgot about his Lord, right? The ink man still occasionally played tunes for the demon. Ink Demon loved when Sammy played. Because the melodies made especially for him were slow, calm, a little sad. But that was what the demon loved.
He just... he loved those tunes - he loved Sammy! But ... how to tell the prophet? Okay, take it for granted that the Ink Demon is a monster ready to kill you, but let me tell you something - he has feelings. And with that... he's not very good at rejection.
It hurt him when someone rejected him, although he was a master at hiding his feelings. Every time he said something bad to him... So straight in the face... The demon just wanted to sit in the corner and cry, but no one knew.
Except for Sammy.
He knew his lord from this side. He once stumbled upon a demon in such a state by chance. He followed him and... that's how he discovered it. When the prophet saw his master in such a state, he would fetch a blanket, cover his master with it, and hug him all the time. If you think the demon wasn't taking advantage of that, you're wrong - he cried every time he needed the man's attention.
