Work Text:
It was a mild although cloudy night; here and there the full moon sent down its cold silvery beams and enligthened the landscape that mostly consisted of ragged mountainsides with dark, nearly impenetrable forests on their slopes as far as the eye could see, all the way to the left and to the right. It was like an ocean filled with mysterious wonders and miracles ... at least this was how she imagined it to be, never actually daring to enter the cursed territory that was told to be the entrance to another realm on her own. A forbidden realm. For just a second she was lost in thoughts ...
"Marisa! Hurry up, otherwise we won't succeed!"
Intuitionally, her mind snapped back to reality at the sound of her sister's voice, who now had turned around to her, tilting her head.
"The terms of this full moon night aren't the best anyway but we won't get another opportunity to safe them!"
Harshly, Moira reached out to beckon her after them as their oldest sister had stepped further already. Suddenly a lump was caught in her throat; it was true, the weather was way too mild and unimposing, not even a few raindrops or a gentle breeze.
Intuitionally, Marisa lifted her gaze to the nightsky and bit her lips. Maybe it would at least rain a little later on. Regarding what she and her sisters had in mind doing tonight outside in these lands, a storm or a rain shower would have been perfect once they began to call for him ...
Exhaling, Marisa hurried up to follow her sisters.
They had to succeed. For the sake of her family, he had to listen to them and show up. He had to! Since her physical condition had never been the best, her breathing turned to panting as she ran. No, Marisa and her siblings had other qualities which were better kept a secret from most people.
For a second the memory of her first successful conjuration not long ago came to her mind and suddenly Marisa felt more confident; it had been a simple example of a lower demon spectre she had sent to the nearby village to scare off some troublemakers which were harassing and bothering the inhabitants. But even though the one they had decided to call out to tonight was multiple times more powerful and stronger than this spectre, her sisters were with her. They would do an unrivaled conjuration and offer their sacrifices to him in a threesome. He wouldn't even consider to reject their wish. Her wish.
There was it again. Her confidence fought with desperation at the thought of her cousin, sick in bed and advanced in pregnancy, and Marisa barely suppressed a sob as she finally caught up with her sisters. Maddi now tilted her head, glancing up; they had finally reached the edge of the forest as Marisa's oldest sister distorted her face.
"We don't have much time left to get ready for the incantation until the moon will reach the glade – quick!"
In a threesome, the sisters made their way through the brushwood; thorned tendrils which snatched onto their mid-length seams and hidden roots aiming to make them tumble maliciously. Marisa hissed as her skirt got stuck between some low branches of a stump which dry wood seemed to form a vicious grimace. Right after turning around and losing sight of the dreadful view, she held her breath as countless fraily threads spread all over her face and all Marisa could do was close her mouth and squeeze her eyes shut. Probably the by now homeless creator of this fabulous wonder of the world would make itself a home in her hair until her next bath ...
"As ambitious as always – though I think now you're taking things too far," Moira stated as she became aware of the unwanted encounter of her younger sister.
Maddi however shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe Marisa will attract him even more this way."
The bold assumption earned her a disbelieving snort of her younger sibling.
"The cat and those manuscripts will do. And if he needs more convincing ... well, I'm more than ready!"
Unimpressed, Maddi raised an eyebrow while Marisa couldn't help but shudder. Sure, she had stated to do anything to ensure that her cousin would recover and give birth to her first child – however now that they had reached their destination and were about to set up everything, she went weak at the knees. What if he charged her for something she wasn't ready for? Judging by the stories which were told about him he wouldn't merely refuse her plea, but the three of them would come to feel his legendary rage – among everyone living in those regions.
She couldn't allow this to happen.
Eventually the three sisters knelt down in a greater triangle made of a few candles with their sacrifices set up in between; a wooden braided cage with a black cat inside, next to several writings and notes filled with instructions for spells and curses among some more about sciences. The cat was quite self-explanatory, however Marisa couldn't help but wonder why a creature like him actually found use in scientific essays ... Then she caught the look of Maddi who now ignited a small incense in front of her.
Scattered beams of the full moon were reaching out to the small glade the siblings had picked for their conjuration, when the oldest of the three closed her eyes and opened her mouth.
"The one out of seven."
Moira to her right side ignited her own materials right now, inhaling the incense deeply.
"The one whose wrath may mean the end of the world."
Now it was Marisa's turn, but due to her trembling hands she had trouble to ingnite the herbs in front of her. Inhaling deeply, she tried to prevent herself from panicking; come one, just a little spark ... Eventually the incense was fuming and feeling relieved, Marisa closed her eyes, her voice loud and clear.
"The one who fancies hidden beauty, please, hear me out!"
Now it was again Moira who raised her voice. "We came here in modesty and humility, pleading for your generosity in this time of despair to take our lowly gifts in exchange of a favor."
At a sudden crack all three opened their eyes at once; the candles which used to burn in ordinary flames had changed their colour all of a sudden and were now burning in a bright lime green, their flames flickering boldly. As Maddi eventually continued, the silvery beams of the full moon were flooding the glade and the siblings and Marisa held back tears of relief. He would be there ...
"Satan, mighty lord of the underworld, Ruler of Hell and Avatar of Wrath –"
And now her younger sisters opened their mouths and joined in the conjuration as well. "– we call out to you!"
Nothing happened. Still the full moon was enlightening the glade with its cold silvery beams as the sisters were waiting in anticipation, the silence only disrupted by the dark meowing of the captured cat.
Frowning, Moira tilted her head and turned around. "... Did we miss anything?"
Now Maddi distorted her face and licked her lips: "I – I don't know ... we followed every instruction given –"
"Obviously not, otherwise, he would have come!" was Moira's irritated answer as she threw back her head up to the nightsky. "The moon – he'd be gone soon!" Hissing she glared back at Maddi who now exhaled.
"I know! ... I've never conjured such a powerful demon before, neither did any of you!" The helplessness and perplexity in her face was clearly seen as Marisa now caught her look.
Her youngest sister was trembling all over her body, as she opened her mouth her voice was a mere whisper. "Does that mean ... we failed?" A sob escaped her mouth while tears were summoning in her eyes, rolling down her cheeks: "Evelyn's going to die and so is her child –"
"No!" Moira exclaimed and shook her head, "No way! We'll have another try –"
Right in this moment the glade turned dark as the moon was covered by a cloud and made her pause. Appalled, both Moira and Maddi widened their eyes while looking aloft, but it was no use; they'd had just a little time frame in which the glade was enlightened by the beams of a full moon, and likely its silvery light would be gone once the clouds drifted away. This had been their only chance.
Her vision had gotten blurry as Marisa raised a hand to wipe her eyes. No later than two to three days from now, her family would gather to mourn for the loss of her cousin and her unborn child ... Apathetically, she observed how a small drop of wax was dripping down one of the candles and eventually got lost within the ground.
At once a sharp breeze out of nowhere made the green burning flames of the candles flicker. With a gasp Moira held on tight to the scarf around her neck and Maddi inhaled sharply as lime green lines appeared slowly on the ground, drawing a pattern in between their triangle. A dubios sign was formed little by little. Marisa gasped with widened eyes which stuck on the magically drawn pattern. Only the cat in its braided basket remained silent.
Then another snap was heard, even louder this time and more portentous, like the crack of a whip. Marisa winced heavily at the sound, then all three got aware of the sinister ambience which began to spread around them. Intuitionally, she shuddered and Moira also wasn't able to suppress a shiver. Passion and anger were lingering in the air and Marisa almost wanted to believe that these emotions were of her own. She was wrong; another pulse, like a harsh breeze, originating from the glowing sign in the middle of their circle swept throught the air and extinguished all of the flickering candles at once. For a split second it was utterly dark before the rallied light of the green flames formed a silhouette, kneeling in the middle of this dubious rune. The siblings held their breath, then a flash made Marisa gasp and cover her eyes –
"... miserable."
It only lasted for another split second. As Marisa blinked and let her hand sink again, she widened her eyes in amazement at the sight they got to observe. The silhouette had turned into an actual being that was now kneeling on the ground, surrounded by the sisters, and yet Marisa had to suppress another shiver. The aura of the creature whirred constantly and caused the crowns of the massive old trees in the forest to rustle while the one they seemed to have summoned successfully still had his eyes closed.
If Marisa hadn't known better about his true nature she could have gotten the impression that he merely enjoyed the sound of rustling leafs. Indeed it was a deluding, peaceful picture.
At least until the summoned being opened his eyes in a flash and narrowed them. Very slowly and thoughtfully, his head turned around to face the three sisters attentively before he stood up without hurrying, glaring down at the siblings.
"Isn't this a miserable gathering ... three children, out into the forest at night ... playing with fire!"
A sudden gesture seemed to set a tree nearby on fire while his figure rose even more, the curved horns cresting his head like a baleful crown. The black feathered shawl he carried over his shoulders like a splendid cover in fact granted him something regal in a malicious way. After Marisa swallowed her fright at his sudden exclaim she was at a loss for words, impressed by his appearance.
Therefore it was now Maddi who rose to speak after she took a deeper breath. "We ... are grateful and honoured to be graced with your presence, Satan. And – we supplicate for your help in exchange for our services. So, please, hear us out –"
She hadn't finished her sentence as the creature was negotiating the short distance between themselves in a wink; Moira as well as Marisa gasped while the horned being was bending down to their oldest sister and grabbed her chin pretty roughly.
"You supplicate for the help of Satan? You pitiable human being doesn't have the slightest idea what you're talking about. And why is that?" Now the one called Satan tilted his head as if being pensive. With one of his eyebrows raised he eyed his counterpart in contempt: "Likely because humans don't actually think before they open their mouths and start blabbering words whose meaning they don't understand – not to speak of realizing the consequences." His voice became softer, his thumb brushed along her cheek almost tenderly as Maddi closed her eyes and gulped.
"As I – as I said, we ... wish to ... to make a deal. You're – the only one ... the only one we can – beg for help."
After she finished, holding her breath again and still feeling his toxic green claws gently stroking her face, Maddi dared to open her eyes again. To look up into the eyes of the horned summoned one was fascinating. Satan in the meantime seemed to contemplate her offer. A small smile appeared on his lips and slowly turned into a smirk as his claws softly dug in her cheeks, slightly scratching her skin.
At once he leaned in closer to whisper into her ear. "Children who play with fire are likely to get burned."
Suddenly he reached down below her chin and tightened his grip; and all Maddi could do was choke heavily as her own magic whirred through the air in revolt. Still his intense gaze had something fascinating, even in her current state. She wouldn't mind facing the end if those cold, turquois orbs would be the last she ever got to see –
Like from afar the voice of her youngest sister reached her ears; and suddenly Maddi felt the tight grip around her neck loosening, panting for air when Satan released her and turned around. With her eyes widened she needed another second to actually orientate herself as the trance she had been put under by his gaze was ended abruptly. Therefore the view of Marisa made her frown; she had gotten up and glared at Satan with her fists clenched and her teeth bared. Which seemed to raise a quiet chuckle out of his throat.
"And what do we have here, hm?"
Maddi's facial features twitched as she observed how the demon stepped closer to her sister, casually reaching out to her with his right.
"A monster? You're brave calling me that ..."
Marisa tried to but she couldn't withstand his spell; in no time she found herself being drawn closer to him until Satan got a grip around her waist, holding her in his arm. It was no use struggling, as much as Marisa wanted to, she wasn't able to free herself. Above the sound of a tongue clicking was heard.
"There, there ... you're not trying to agitate me, are you?" It was the playful softness of his voice, silky like velvet which made Marisa eventually pause, breathing shallowly.
Mechanically, she shook her head as she replied his look by herself: "... no, no, please – I didn't mean to, I ... I just want –"
Not even realizing the effect the deep glance into his eyes had on her, Marisa interrupted herself, getting lost in his orbs. It became worse as Satan began to speak again, the tune of his voice so pleasing to her ears.
"Hm? What is it that you want?" His whole appearance, the aura of the demon, everything seemed to charm her in a devilish kind of way; intuitionally, she got flustered and couldn't labour herself to actually speak. However, fortunately Satan seemed to be patient as he eyed his counterpart throroughly – Marisa's face, her torse, even her hands and legs: "How was your name?"
The intimacy he managed to create along with the mere sound of his voice was amazing as well as frightening. Eventually Marisa gulped and replied to him.
Being released out of his embrace she sank back down onto the ground, right in front of him as Satan turned around unhurriedly, facing at first Moira and then Maddi, asking for their names. And finally for their desires and wishes – then for whatever reason should he have been summoned here? To enjoy the landscape?
"So ... you want your cousin to recover from her illness, giving birth to her first child and to live a happy life ... is that all?" Satan's mien had gotten neutral as he raised an eyebrow, looking over the siblings one by one.
Maddi and Moira merely nodded, Marisa however gulped quietly. "... Yes. It's within your power, isn't it? You can save her at any cost." Holding her breath, Marisa observed how the demon tilted his horned head, narrowing his amazing eyes tenderly.
"Of course I can. The question is ... if I feel like it."
Now Moira swallowed the lump in her throat and inhaled as her sisters caught their breath.
"We – brought you something, please, take our gifts and reconsider it! You won't find any of those manuscripts anywhere else in the human world –"
But Satan didn't wait until she had finished her sentence, already concentrating and skimming those notes and manuscripts before the meowing wooden braided basket caught his attention. Opening the cage and putting out the cat, the eyes of the demon twinkled in endless dedication.
"What a stunning, little beauty you are, hm? ..." Just a second later Satan turned back to Moira, still smiling: "Those presents are neat and gladly appreciated – although ..." With the purring cat in his arms the smile of the demon went even wider and inutitionally Marisa began to shiver.
"... they're not enough. Not in the least."
For a moment he let the perception of his words sink in before Satan raised an eyebrow as Maddi now earned his attention.
"No matter, what it is – we'll get you everything that you want! We'll do anything we have to –" Her appalled flood of words was disrupted abruptly at an upraised hand of the demon before he continued. Again his amazing intense gaze eyed the sisters one by one.
"Yet your souls are pure, your bodies pristine ... you will see your wish fulfilled, your cousin alive and surrounded by her child and a happy family – in exchange of your first night." Now the eyes of the demon widenend slightly. "Each one of you will fully dedicate herself to me and share my longing and my pleasure in order to save your cousin." Slightly, the tip of his tongue brushed one of his fangs, his tail uncurling from his right leg with its green tip swinging around, probably excited: "What are you waiting for?"
Moira was the first one to approach Satan and to devote herself to him. True, none of them had ever experienced the uniting with a male, but still girls at their age used to compare notes about one thing or the other with each other in the market. However no human could have ever made her feel the way the demon did right now, as Moira got to live through several immensive waves of pleasure and eventually sank down to the ground, utterly used up and exhausted.
That was when Maddi stepped closer, not as eager as her younger sister but in the end she shared a common fate. Plumping down to the ground, she felt her yearning for Satan's touch trembling in her fingertips and toes, her mind kept on spinning on about this experience but her body couldn't keep up with the amount of desire and lust anymore.
That was when she felt Satan's claws running through her hair, stroking, fondling, praising her and Maddi exhaled in relief. She had been able to please him the way he wished to be satisfied. And to eventually make a deal with them. That was all she could think of as Maddi passed out at the end.
Satan chuckled slightly and then raised his eyebrows, focusing on Marisa. Yet the youngest of the siblings hesitated, eyeing her sisters appalled as well as frozen internally; she had just witnessed their uniting with the demon and what he had been doing to them. For some reason it had excited and shocked her equally, how Maddi and Moira had offered and thrown themselves onto him, sceaming out their lust at the top of their lungs. No, actually it had scared her.
Satan had tilted his horned head, he seemed to get the reason for her hesitation. Still he tenderly narrowed his eyes slightly and reached out to her, just like before: "Your sisters have done their bit, and they've done well. Now it's your turn, Marisa." There was it again, this disarming, intimate smile next to his soft, silky voice: "You do want your cousin and her unborn child to live, don't you?"
Eventually Marisa gulped and trembled as she stepped closer, ungainly untying her blouse before her trembling fingertips had to leave it to those of the demon to undress her. For a longer moment Satan seemed to feast his turquois eyes on the sight that was presented to him, before he lifted his hands; every touch, every slight brush, every gently tickle of his fingers left burning marks of inconceivable desire within her body and she became addicted to his touch, burying herself into his arms, inhaling the alluring scent of the demon who ignited a firework of sensations within her body, her mind and her heart. How could she ever fall in love with someone else or let anyone else touch her body the way Satan did right now? That was simply impossible.
The last thought was consumed by the overwhelming feeling of his kiss; although Satan appeared to be careful with her compared to her sisters, Marisa couldn't handle the amount of emotions her body had to deal with. The tongue of the demon seemed eager to discover her everything while she merely indulged in the sensation of his taste. Did she ever worry about anything in her life? Marisa couldn't remember right now, there was only one thing she knew for sure: she wanted him to never let go of her, wanted him to let her feel how she felt now every night for the rest of her entire life.
In the end she could hardly breathe, so consumed by lust and exhaustion that she sank down to the ground next to her sisters. Marisa barely noticed how Satan kneeled down in front of her, granting her the deep look into his eyes. She was longing for them, was already longing for his touch. Suddenly she started to get cold without the feeling of his figertips onto her body. Her eyes were pleading as she replied his gaze, reaching out to touch his cheek. However Satan took her hand and brushed it off, shaking his head slightly. The gesture caused her heart to shatter, even more when his voice was heard.
"... it's over. You've done great, Marisa ... your sisters will be proud of you." At his endearing smile the demon had for her she felt tears summoning in her eyes. "Evelyn and her unborn child will live and be happy for a long time, just as you wished."
With that Satan stood up and collected his presents before he turned around to face Marisa for the last time, his silhouette starting to glow.
Unable to control herself, Marisa began to sob as the impressive guise of the demon dispersed little by little and couldn't get herself to stop, drowning in her tears and desperation.
Eventually she was found dead in the near river after several days of desperately searching for her, leaving both of her sisters mourning over the loss of their younger sibling. They vowed to themselves to never summon such a powerful demon again before they were strong enough to resist his temptation.
They had once played with fire and were burned. However, next time they would tame the flames.
