Unexpected Parenthood
“Peter, you need to wake up,” Steve said in a tone of voice that sounded similar to the one he used in missions when something unexpected was going on but whatever it involved Steve was trying not to startle someone or something. “Is your spider sense going off?” It wasn’t which is why he hadn’t immediately opened his eyes enjoying the warm of laying against Steve under the blankets they’d picked up in that weird village a day or so ago.
“No, not since that storm that got us into this cave,” he said getting ready since Steve did sound off he wished he still had his clothes on but they’d stripped to let them dry from the dangerous wild storm that had popped up out of no where. “Why do you ask?” He felt it then something moved on top of the blanket clearly curled up against them. “whatever that thing is it isn’t dangerous?” He could sense no danger.
“I’m not worried about the baby dragons I’m worried about the big one” Steve said which caused him to finally open his eyes despite how comfortable he was. He saw four small different colored dragons curled up in between the two of them sleeping but at the mouth of the cave he saw a large white dragon staring at them with one of it’s huge eyes.
“Neither of you need to fear me, Steve Rogers, Peter Parker,” the dragon said in a deep rumbling voice. “I have been aware of you Avengers since you were summoned to our world to defeat the threat that came form your world.” So the dragon could talk that made sense for this crazy fantasy world Baron Mordo was trying ot take over. They’d been recruited along with the other Avengers to destroy his places of power while Doctor Strange had handled him. They had been on their way back from destroying their target when the storm forced them into the cave over night.
“You know who we are,” Steve said and about then one of the four dragons a black one opened it’s eyes and climbed up onto Steve’s chest and started to make a sound almost like a purr. It woke up the other three a red one, green one and blue one and they climbed up on both him and Steve and started making the noise. He realized how bizare it was to be in a cave in another dimension naked with his lover with four baby dragons two each purring on them while what he guessed was their mother was staring at them and saying their real names.
“Yes, though not until I read your minds last night while you slept before I only knew you as Captain America and Spiderman from my visits to your world and worlds like it,” the dragon said in a cheerful tone. “And Peter I may or may not be their mother, my kind raise our eggs communally and you two spent last night in a hatching cave which is very amusing to me and will greatly complicate your lives.”
“What do you mean complicate?” He asked before Steve could and noticed Steve had started idly scratching the black one under the chin. The red one that was also on Steve shoved it’s head against his other hand. He felt the two on him doing the same so he joined in. He guessed it was okay to treat the dragons like cats cause they were acting like them.
“Those four kits have bonded to the two of you so they must stay with you for the foreseeable future,” the dragon said in a cheerful tone. “Isn’t that right Stephen Strange.” The dragon said in turning and he saw Dr. Strange standing there with a book looking a bit shocked. “You are looking well Stephen.”
“As are you Valencia,” Dr. Strange said and then looked over at the two of them. “What possessed you two to stay in this cave instead of returning to the Temple like the others.”
“We got caught in a storm and the lightening was not something to mess around with,” Steve said which was true even with his spidey sense they’d nearly gotten struck several times before they found the cave. Dr. Strange just sighed as the dragons quickly swapped the black and red moving over to him while the blue and green went to Steve. “How long are we going to have to care for these kits?”
“Until their masking form reaches physical maturity,” The dragon said and then to his shock she began to shrink and change in almost no time at all a beautiful women with black hair was standing there naked and Doc Strange quickly gave her his cape. “Humans and your modesty.” She said dismissively but she wrapped it around herself. “So Stephen do you want to tell them or should I?”
“I’ll do it,” Dr. Strange said with a sigh, “Dragons of this type to protect themselves spend the first twenty one or so years of their life existing in human form which they model on the human form of whichever set of Dragon parents they choose after hatching the two of you slept here just as a dragon couple would so now those four kits have chosen you as their parents.”
“And if you reject them they will die,” The dragon woman said and then smiled, “it seems they have finished the sampling.” He had no idea what she meant but then the dragons climbing on them began to glow. He glanced at Steve to see he looked unnerved and when he looked back he saw why the baby dragons were changing into human toddlers two boys and two girls by the looks of things. “I imagine it will be interesting for the two of you since while they will not have their power as dragons until they come of age both your bodies contain abilities that they will have mimicked.” He looked at the toddlers one blond and three brunettes and realized that she was saying they would have his and Steve’s abilities.
“This isn’t a dream is it Steve?” He found himself asking and Steve just shook his head silently. “You know I wanted to be a dad some day but I never expected it like this.” Steve just shook his head and sighed. “So I guess we have to stay here in this world now.”
“No, as I said my kind visit many worlds including yours they can safely grow up there and in fact it will be better so let me send you on your way,” The dragon said and before he or Steve could react she gestured and even Dr. Strange looked surprised as they were swallowed by a flash of light.
He Steve and he guessed their four new kids promptly landed on the bed in their apartment. He looked over at Steve and then at the four toddlers. “I have no idea how I’m going to tell Aunt May about this?” He said looking at Steve still feeling like this was a dream.
“Papa,” one of the kids said before Steve could say anything and then the other three joined in. He had no idea which one of the was papa but he saw Steve smiling slightly and he knew he’d freak out later about all of this and how they were ever going to deal with having four kids out of no where when they were super heroes.
Still looking at the kids and Steve who had the same slight smile on his face he’d noticed before maybe this wasn’t so bad I mean it fit how crazy their life was and he did always hope to be a dad and he wouldn’t have to do it alone as Steve would be there.
