Summary
In a dusty old box rests a perfectly preserved envelope that Dean meant to give to Sam on the day his little brother turned forty years old. Two weeks after he bared his soul in the pages he stuffed into that envelope, Dean was gone. The envelope fell out of Sam’s jacket three days after Sam lit his brother’s pyre. Sam couldn’t bring himself to open it, so he stored it away where he knew it would be safe.
Something in Heaven didn’t feel quite right, until that envelope appears and Dean gets a second chance to give his brother the 40th birthday he deserves.
