"Trust me on this, hyung. I'm sure this was the short but pretty route back to the apartment. I walked here once before… I think." Yuchan blabbers determinedly in his drunk giddyness. He tugs the sleeve of Donghun's shirt as he starts walking down a brightly lit street that Donghun could swear he remembers being the longest way back. But he's too tired and just tipsy enough that he can't really protest, nor would it even make sense to try. A drunk Yuchan is too determined and stubborn and Donghun concludes that a long walk and some fresh air will probably do them both good.
After about five minutes of walking, the spring in Yuchan’s step starts disappearing, his relentless humming of whatever song he had stuck in his head starts getting quieter and he just comes to a halt. Donghun’s tipsy brain takes a second to catch up so he bumps into Yuchan’s back just slightly, but enough to startle him. Yuchan turns around with a panicked expression, tears starting to fill his eyes.
“I’m so sorry, I’m so so sorry. This is completely the wrong way. This is the long way home. I’m so sorry hyung, I know you’re tired and that’s why we left the bar and I know you just want to get into bed and get some sleep and I told you to trust me and then fucked up and dragged you along the wrong street and -”
Donghun’s laughter cuts off Yuchan’s panicked apology.
“It’s okay Channie, I’m enjoying the walk. It’s a lovely night so let’s enjoy it a bit longer.”
Donghun reaches up and wipes the stray tear that’s rolling down Yuchan’s cheek, smiles fondly at him and intertwines their fingers. He continues humming the song right where Yuchan left off as he pulls him along and starts skipping. That finally cracks a laugh out of Yuchan so they happily continue their long way back to the apartment, humming in unison and enjoying the cool breeze of the night, but never letting go of each other's hands.
