Sehyoon's eyes open to his light still on and the book he was reading lying on his lap, probably falling out of his hand as he dozed off. He reaches to turn off the lamp and put the book on his bedside table, but notices someone softly knocking on his apartment door. The knocks stop after a few seconds and he hears someone punching in the wrong passcode. He's pretty sure his upstairs neighbor must have drank a bit too much and mistaken Sehyoon's apartment for his own again.
He sleepily gets out of bed to redirect the man one floor up and laughs a bit as a frustrated groan, followed by what is probably the sound of a head hitting the door in frustration echoes through the quiet of the apartment. The soft knocks on his front door resume and as Sehyoon is shuffling to the door he is stopped by a soft "hyung" coming from behind it. His head whips to the side to look at his doorbell monitor, and the person on the other side of the door is not his neighbor but Yuchan.
He rushes to unlock the door and as soon as it opens he is greeted by a pair of sad eyes looking at him through wet bangs.
“I got upset and said something stupid and as soon as I realized I just bolted out and went drinking to try and forget and I started walking back but the rain started pouring and -”
“And you needed to talk to someone about it and my apartment was the closest. I know.” Sehyoon finishes the sentence Yuchan started and offers him a comforting smile which has Yuchan bursting into tears and hugging him close.
“Let’s get you inside, into some dry clothes and you can tell me what happened then.”
Sehyoon maneuvers them back inside the apartment, basically dragging a drunk and clumsy Yuchan back into the apartment. He walks him back to his room and somehow manages to talk him into letting go and changing into a pair of Sehyoon’s comfy PJs. By this point the alcohol and crying have taken their toll and Yuchan is dozing off so Sehyoon decides to leave the talk about what happened for tomorrow morning and goes to tuck Yuchan into his own bed, deciding to take the couch tonight instead.
As he drapes the blanket over Yuchan and goes to leave the room, Yuchan’s eyes softly blink open, a pout on his lips and a soft hand takes Sehyoon’s arm, and Yuchan pleads sleepily “Please don’t go sleep on the couch, can we cuddle instead? You’re very warm and it’s really comforting.”
A soft smile spreads across Sehyoon’s face and he nods slowly, cause who is he to leave a sad and drunk Yuchan on his own.
