Summary
After the war, Katniss is under house arrest back in District 12, she goes back home to the victors village with Haymitch and tries to live day-to-day...it's not working out great. She tries talking to the townies who've returned, going hunting, even entertaining Haymitch with nightly drinking sat next to the fire but nothing is taking away the constant feeling of dread she feels running through her everyday nor does it help the nightmares subside. One day when she comes back from hunting with a turkey in hand, she finds Peeta planting a garden in Prim's memory, and she feels some semblance of security in his arms. Weeks go by and speaking to Peeta is kept minimal because it seems easier until, Peeta comes to her one night silently asking for a reciprocated security that he had offered her so many times in the past.

Katniss is having a rough time being back home in 12, Peeta being home helps but she doesn't know how to talk to him without it being awks, until Peeta has a bit of a breakdown and needs Katniss to help him out of it, relationship ensues from there, first time sexual experiences, soft D/S themes.
