Summary
"If you want to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us too!" Ron was pale and swaying, yet his words were strong with will and strength. His grip on Harry's arm was even stronger.
"Lie down," Black said quietly. "You will damage that leg even more."
"Did you hear me?" Ron insisted, weak yet stubborn as anything. "You'll have to kill all three of us!"
A part of Harry that wasn't consumed by his own fury was agape in shock.
Later, Harry sits in his dorm and mulls it all over. He's had people die for him before, and despite the flicker of warmth at the fact Ron would die for him, he would never have that.
That wasn't how it was supposed to be, and it never would be.
Never.
Ron Weasley dies at the battle in the Ministry, and Harry spends the rest of his days grieving.
