It’s not everyday you get a subway wedding, it’s not everyday you are used as a pawn in a company merger and set up for an arranged marriage. Or everyday you are ripped from your loved one, only to be married on a subway to said loved one, for Weiss Schnee this was her life, as she stands arm and arm with her one true love, Ruby Rose. While Ruby’s own half sister Yang being ordained through the internet, officiates the union. While Yang’s own wife Blake was one of the witnesses, along with some random bystanders. If your curious how this all began, we will need to go back one week.
—Sunday April 23rd, one week earlier—
Ruby was just pulling up to Weiss’ apartment on her motorcycle. She set the kickstand and took her crimson red helmet off, setting it on her bike before heading up the stares to Weiss’ apartment. Once at Weiss’ door Ruby knocks three times. The door then flings open as Ruby groans upon seeing who has opened the door. “Hello… Jacob…” Ruby smirked.
As Weiss’ father Jacque was the one who opened the door, his eye twitches slightly. “It’s Jacque.. but to you it's Mr.Schnee…” Jacque said in pure disgust upon seeing Ruby, her blue jeans, black wolves shirt, opened red flannel button up, with a black bandanna on top of her head. She wasn’t someone whom he enjoyed seeing his Daughter spread time with. “Weiss! Your little friend is here!.” Jacque scoffed and walked past Ruby. “I will be going now!” He yelled as he left and Ruby flipped him the bird before waking inside to see Weiss sitting at her home office desk, rubbing her eyes.
Ruby walks in and hops up, planting her butt on the corner of Weiss’ desk. “Hey good looking, how are you doing?” Ruby asked as Weiss looked up to her with a small smirk.
“Better now, with you here and him gone.” Weiss chuckled.
“So, what was it this time?” Ruby asked. As Weiss rolled her eyes.
“That I need to meet the son of his business associate, I need a man in my life.” Weiss scoffed as Ruby bent down towards her with a smirk.
“Oh darn, no men around here, guess you’ll have to settle for me snowflake.” Ruby smoothy said as she reached down putting a finger under Weiss’ chin and lifted Weiss’ face up to softly kiss her. She pulled back with a sly grin. “You know, I wish you would tell the bastard we are dating, I’d love to see the look on his face.” Ruby joked as Weiss had a sad expression come across her face.
“I know my Rosebud, but I still need to bide my time. Things are almost ready.” Weiss said as she caressed Ruby’s cheek with her fingers. “You know as well as I do, if we don’t make a clean break for it. He’ll just drag me back..” Ruby sighed sadly. She knew it was true. Jacque had the money and resources to take her snowflake away. Ruby had to pull back and turn so her back was facing Weiss, as Weiss pushed her chair back and stood up. Waking Over so she’s facing Ruby, Ruby looks away. “Ruby..”
“I hate feeling this helpless. I’m just some hick from the sticks.” Ruby sadly stated as Weiss hugged and kissed Ruby’s head.
“I love that you’re just a hick Ruby. It’s because you love me just for me. You’re not after me to merge companies or make me some trophy.” Weiss began to gently rub Ruby’s head. “Hey, why don’t I ditch work early and go out for a bit? Sound good?”
All Weiss got as a reply was a soft and sweet “mhm” bringing a small smile across her face. Weiss continued to rub Ruby’s head till Ruby looked up to Weiss, as Weiss kept her arms around Ruby’s neck. “Can we go to a movie?” Ruby asked as Weiss kissed her forehead.
“Sure my love. I’ll go get ready.” Weiss couldn’t help but kiss her forehead one more time before leaving the room to change, Ruby smiles as she waits Patiently as Weiss comes back moments later in her Jean shorts, blue t-shirt that reads Kitty Queen with a pair of blue sneakers and her favorite Black leather jacket Ruby had bought her, “do I look good?” She questions as she knew the answer, but loved to hear it from Ruby’s lips.
“Of course Snowflake.. you are absolutely gorgeous.” Weiss could swear, Ruby’s eyes sparkled as she said that, and keeping this silly grin that made Weiss giggle.
“Well Ruby, are you ready?” Ruby nodded, jumping off Weiss’ desk and following Weiss out of her house. Weiss grabbed her Helmet before locking the door and jumping on to Ruby’s motorcycle. They rode off, as a man watched them from a black SUV.
Ruby and Weiss pull into the parking lot, kicking her kickstand down. Ruby pops her helmet off, as does Weiss as they see a line of people for the fine food establishment set in said parking lot, “Weiss, let me be the first to welcome you to Bee’s knees restaurant.”
“Oh! Yang and Blake got the loan?” Weiss asked as she couldn’t believe the line of people.
“Yup! Today is the grand opening, figured you’d be ok if we stopped in?” Ruby asked.
Weiss rolled her eyes. “Of course I would be, we can even get food to go.” Weiss chuckled.
Ruby grinned, as she climbed off her bike and extended her hand out to take Weiss’ hand as Weiss gracefully got off the bike, Ruby and Weiss walked up and to the front of the line. “Hey! Oscar!” Ruby calls out as the Young doorman waves at the two.
“Ruby! Weiss! What’s up? Are you guys looking for Yang?” Oscar questioned as Ruby nodded.
“Yeah, just need to see her for a second Oscar, cool we cut in?” Oscar nods as he lets Ruby and Weiss enter, the people in line groan but Ruby, nor Oscar could’ve careless.
Ruby and Weiss stroll in, looking at the fancy decor, Weiss smiles as she can tell some of the choices we’re definitely inspired by her fine eye. Ruby watched Weiss as she looked at everything. To Ruby, Weiss was poetry in motion, living art. Then Ruby feel a urge come over her, as Weiss has flipped her hair over to one side. To expose her neck, a smile crossed her face.
Ruby moved silently, her prey was in sight, as she commenced her neck kiss attack, soon as she kissed Weiss’ neck she screamed from pure surprise, jumping almost a mile in the air, she spun around to face Ruby and start hitting her. “Don’t do that! You scared the hell outta me!!” Weiss screamed at Ruby but Ruby only giggled and laughed.
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Ruby continued to laugh as Yang and Blake stepped out.
“Hey, no fighting in my restaurant.” Blake says as Ruby and Weiss turn to Blake. Weiss blushes as she stops.
“Sorry… Ruby startled me. I just got embarrassed..” Weiss replied, as Ruby nervously scratches the back of her head with a silly grin.
“So…. Are you guys ready for the big opening?” Ruby asked, as she still nervously scratches the back of her head, not because of Blake, but Yang’s unappreciated gaze, but Blake still nods happily.
“You know it, I can finally bring some faunas cuisine to This city.” Blake said happily, as head cat ears also show her enthusiasm, Yang smiles as she wraps an arm around Blake’s neck and kisses her cheek.
“You are too cute miss Kitty cat.” Yang teases as she keeps kissing Blake, making her laugh and keeps trying to pushing Yang off of her. Eventually Yang stops, as Blake turns back to Ruby and Weiss.
“So, you two stop in to eat? Or try some food to go?” Blake asked as Ruby looked to Weiss who shrugged.
“I’d like to grab some to go, me and Ruby are trying to catch a movie.” Weiss replied,
“Well I'll whip something up, keeping it a surprise though.” Yang said with finger guns, flashing a cheesy smile to Blake as she turned and headed to the kitchen, leaving Ruby, Weiss and Blake.
“I love that woman.” Blake giggled. “So, when are you two gonna make this public?” Blake asked Ruby and Weiss as they both blushed. “You both can’t keep this relationship a secret, it’s been two years, don’t you wanna get married like Yang and I? Or even start a family?” Blake now asked, to get some kinda response from the two of them.
Weiss looked away, then she bites her lip. Looking at Ruby now, as Ruby flashes a small smile. “Soon as I have things set up, me and Ruby will stop sneaking around.” Weiss said as she took a grip of Ruby’s hand, leaning against her. “We just have to be careful. We just don’t know what my father would do, especially with Ruby.”
“Your dad himself doesn't scare me snowflake, only thing that scares me Is your cooking.” Ruby said jokingly to Weiss as she punches Ruby in the shoulder.
“Hey! You said you liked my cooking!” Weiss fired back as Ruby smiled and kissed Weiss on the head.
“I’m only kidding snowflake.” Ruby said with a smile and a wink. Which made Weiss smile back softly. Rolling her eyes before punching Ruby again.
“Listen here you two, if you need help. Ask us please, me and yeah Yang will not hesitate to help you.” Blake said as Ruby grips Weiss’ hand and nods.
“Don’t worry Blake we will, and thank you.” Ruby said as Yang came out with two to go bags and handing them both one with a smile as Ruby and Weiss looked in the bags. “Yang… you made us burritos?” Ruby asked as Yang stood proudly.
“Yes I did! Chicken for Weiss and steak for you Rubies.” Weiss and Ruby looked at one another then back to Blake as she nervously smiled.
“I didn’t really teach Yang any of my Menagerie specialties yet..” Blake said as Yang did seem a little down, but perked back up as Ruby and Weiss shrugged, then smiled.
“It’s ok, still fine for me and Weiss. Thanks sis.” Ruby said as Weiss gave Yang a quick hug. Then pulled away.
“Yes thank you, but we probably should go, think you open soon don’t you?” Weiss asked as Blake checked her scroll.
“Hmm not for another half hour, our new staff isn’t even all here yet, except for Oscar. We should start getting ready though Yang.” Yang nods as Runy grips Weiss’ hand again.
“Yeah, well have fun you two! Me and Weiss gotta. See ya.” Ruby and Weiss said their goodbyes as they slipped out the front, trying to hide their To go bags. It was a tiny fiasco to keep from crushing the burritos Yang had made them, but thankfully they did as Ruby and Weiss made a stop at the park, just a few minutes away from the movie theater.
They could be heard happily munching away. Weiss spent the whole time leaning against Ruby and Ruby against her. “How’s your burrito?” Ruby asked between bites as Weiss hummed.
“Good! Yang can cook really well!” Weiss said as she happily finished her burrito. She balled up the wrapper and walked it over to the trash and tossed it in. As Ruby finished her. She balled it up and tossed it, hitting Weiss in the head. Weiss turns and grabs it. Playfully throwing it back, hitting Ruby in the face. “Hey! Throw your own trash away!” Weiss said with a smile, as Ruby laughed. Picking it up and walking past Weiss as she was throwing it away. Weiss hugged her from behind. Resting her head on Ruby’s back. She smiled. “Thank you.”
“Thank me? Why Weiss?” Ruby asked as Weiss hugged her tighter.
“For always saving me, you’ve been doing it since we were kids in school, even as adults in a relationship, you still do it.” Weiss said still clinging on to Ruby with all her might.
“It’s no problem Weiss. I do it because I love you.” Ruby said.
“I love you too..” Weiss replied as she nuzzles her face into Ruby’s back.
“Um weuss, I think it’s time we head for the movies.”
“Few more minutes..” Weiss replied as Ruby laughed.
“Ok, but we gotta go soon.” Ruby heard Weiss agree though a mhm sound. She really didn’t mind, she loved Weiss when she was cuddly. After a few minutes, Weiss did release Ruby from her grasp, only for Ruby to scoop her up and kiss her.
“R-Ruby! Hey!” Weiss giggled as Ruby planted kisses on her as payback.
“Now, we can go.” Ruby said as she set Weiss down, she got a playful eye roll from Weiss though.
“You are so silly, anyways let’s go you dolt.”
“As you wish, your highness!” Ruby playfully teased, as she and Weiss hopped back on to Ruby’s motorcycle, and headed for the movie theater, as the same Black SUV followed them, it’s occupants even waiting in the parking lot for Ruby and Weiss to exit the movie theater, as they watched Ruby and Weiss ride away they followed. Making sure to stay far enough away, to not draw attention to themselves.
Ruby pulls up as close as she can to Weiss’ apartment. Before they get off, they head up the stairs, hand and hand. Before Weiss opens the door, she pulls Ruby into a deep kiss. The pull away and smile at one another. “Hey snowflake, mind if I stay the night?” Ruby asked as she put their foreheads together.
“Of course my Rosebud, so.. shall we?” Weiss asked as Ruby nodded, with a sly smirk. They entered Weiss’ apartment as one of the occupant of the SUV, a man in a black suit grabbed a walkie-talkie.
“Hello sir, it’s as you thought, they are together.. what should we do?” The man said as the voice belong to none other then Jacque Schnee rang out over the walkie-talkie.
“Do nothing, I’ll worry about my daughter, keep a close eye on them. I’ll have everything ready tomorrow evening, do you understand?” Jacque asked as the men both nodded.
“Yes sir, we understand. We will maintain surveillance.” The man replied.
Ruby and Weiss at the moment were happy, but Weiss’ fear of Jacque doing what he could to control her was soon to begin. Ruby and Weiss had had tonight, if only they had known what was to come they would’ve made their break sooner.
