Chapter Text
Midoriya was standing to the side of the field, waiting for his turn to spar in hero training. Next to him were Bakugo, Kaminari, Mina, and Todoroki, all waiting for their turns as well. They were currently watching Sero and Yaoyorozu sparring. Kaminari and Mina were cheering for Sero and winced when Yaoyorozu dodged his attack and he slammed face first into the ground. She created a flash bang doll, identical to the ones she created in her exam against Aizawa, and threw it towards Sero. He pulled himself off the ground, sat up and rubbed his face, groaning. He opened his eyes just in time to see the doll open in a flash of bright light, blinding him. When the light died down, he stood and started fumbling around blind. She sidestepped his clumsy attempts at attacks and created a pair of handcuffs. She managed to put them on one of his wrists, alerting him of her position. He swung his free hand and punched her in the nose. She staggered back a bit before focusing and handcuffing Sero’s other wrist, winning the match.
Kaminari and Mina groaned at Sero’s loss before smiling and cheering for Yaoyorozu. They were quickly distracted by the mumbling coming from Midoriya as he wrote in his notebook.
“Sero could have grabbed her with his tape and pulled her into a trap from afar. Easily capture her that way. That was a smart move, the light. But it could potentially incapacitate allies or civilians as well, if they weren't warned beforehand. A better way for her would be to create a gun and shoot him from afar, with a tranquiliser dart or a bullet, depending on the villain. That would create the least amount of risk for standby injuries. Of course, in order for that to work, she would have to know how a gun works and how to aim perfectly, as well as having the resolve to shoot someone. Of course, another idea she could’ve used is some sort of poison. Not necessarily lethal, but at the very least incapacitating. Maybe some sort of anaesthetic drug, such as propofol. It wouldn't last longer than 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the dosage and the victim’s size, so you’d have to act fas-”
“Oi nerd! You're freaking everyone out!” Bakugo yelled. Midoriya slammed his notebook shut and looked up, seeing the others staring at him, looking unnerved. He chuckled nervously.
“Sorry, guys. Got wrapped up in my head there for a moment.”
“How do you know that much?” Kaminari asked, impressed. Midoriya shrugged.
“It was interesting, so I remembered it.” He looked over and saw Yaoyorozu staring at her hands.
“Could I…?” She trailed off and she reached for her bare side, the skin sparkling purple when her hand neared. She pulled a small vial of honey coloured liquid and Kaminari stepped back slightly.
“Did you just create poison?” He asked. Yaoyorozu shook her head frantically and held up the vial.
“It's tea! I would never create a poison without clearing it with one of the teachers first.” She quickly explained. Kaminari sighed in relief and Mina spoke up.
“Hey, Midoriya. I always see you writing in those journals. What sort of stuff do you write?” Midoriya's eyes widened slightly, but he smiled at her. He opened his notebook and flipped through to find a page. He scanned it and turned the notebook to them so they could see. Mina, Sero, and Kaminari gathered around to see the detailed drawing of Mina in both her hero costume and school uniform. Around the drawings were notes about her quirk, her personality, her costume and other small details. “Woah.” She took the notebook and started to flip through the pages. Midoriya panicked and tried to grab it back but she turned to show Kaminari his page and Midoriya stumbled and came up empty handed. He tried again but Bakugo took the notebook from Mina and brought it closer to his face.
He scanned a page and flipped it. He glanced at Midoriya, who was shifting nervously, and flipped to the exact middle of the notebook, knowing Midoriya always kept the stuff he wanted to keep secret there. His eyes widened and he scanned the page over and over. He looked up at Midoriya, eyes wide. Midoriya smiled nervously in response. “What the fuck is this, nerd?!” He shouted. Midoriya frowned.
“What do you mean?” He asked.
Bakugo shoved the pages in his face and hissed, “Why do you have a map of the grounds, including easy points of entry?”
Midoriya’s face went slack and he suddenly grinned. He slipped his hand in his pocket, pressing a button on a small receiver before clapping. “Good job, Kacchan! You figured it out! I am going to need that journal back though.” He reached forward and snatched it out of his hands, pinning him in place with his gaze. Suddenly, purple and black smoke swirled behind him and he winked at the blond boy before walking backwards into the smoke and disappearing.
Once the piercing green eyes were gone, Bakugo let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. He started to hyperventilate and Todoroki used his ice to slide to the other side of the sparring field quickly to reach Aizawa. He quickly got his attention and pointed to the small group of students around Bakugo. He held out his hand to the teacher and he hesitantly took it. Checking to make sure Aizawa was secure, Todoroki used his quirk again to speed back in a fraction of the time it wouldve taken to run.
Meanwhile, Midoriya stepped out of the smoke and found himself in his dorm. He rolled his eyes when he saw Twice and Toga playing with his personal belongings. “Put it down. We gotta clear all the important stuff out now.” They dropped the All Might figures and dug through the dresser to grab clothes. They stuffed backpacks and other bags with clothes as Midoriya ducked into the closet and pulled out the box stuffed with notebooks. He shoved the one he was holding into it and taped it shut.
“Uh, Deku?” He turned to see Twice holding an All Might chest binder. He lunged across the room and snatched it out his hands.
“That's not mine. Stay here, okay? Bring the box and bags back to base. I'll be right behind you.” He pulled the receiver out of his pocket and pressed the button. A few moments later, the purple and black portal appeared. Twice and Toga grabbed the stuff and walked through it. Toga shot a glance back to Midoriya that went unseen, as he was peeking out the window. She sighed and walked through the portal, it closing behind her.
Midoriya deemed the coast clear and jumped out the window, using Blackwhip to pull himself up 2 floors to Bakugo’s window. He peeked in and, when he saw it was empty, jumped in. He found a pad of paper and a pen on Bakugo’s desk and wrote a quick note. Here's your backup binder. You left it in my room.
He folded the note and set it on the binder. He pressed the button and waited for the portal. Just as the portal appeared, the door opened and Midoriya made eye contact with Bakugo. They stared at each other for a moment before Midoriya smiled. “Hope to see you again soon, Kacchan!” He stepped backwards into the portal and disappeared again.
