Work Text:
"This is Cas?” Sam says, looking between the two. “Cas is a dude?”
“Well, actually-” Cas starts to say before Dean cuts him off. They don’t have time to explain how angels and vessels work, and how they don’t technically have a gender.
“Yeah, he is.” Dean says. “I never said Cas was a she, Sam.”
“You never said anything about a ‘Cas’ period, Dean!” Sam says loudly. “I knew you were hiding something! I just didn’t expect it to be this! Since when did you like guys?”
Dean gives him a look. “Since forever? Why do you think Dad was so…himself?”
“I don’t know! I thought it was a generational thing!” Sam says, throwing his hands up in the air. "Not a 'you' thing!"
Jess gives Sam an annoyed look, and steps forward. “It doesn’t matter, because we’re happy for you, Dean. I know I haven't haven’t known you long, but from what I do know, you deserve someone who cares about you.” She smiles at Cas, and holds out her hand. “I’m Jess.”
“I know.” Cas says. Dean gives him a jab with his elbow into his side, and he jolts up and takes her hand to shake it. “It is wonderful to finally meet you. Dean and Claire have said a lot of good things about you.”
Dean feels his face grow hot. “Shut up.”
She smirks at him.
Sam gives her a look of surprise and confusion. “You’re okay with him hiding this? I mean what about Claire?”
Deans expression hardens. “What about Claire?”
“Does she know about all…this?” Sam says, pointing between the two of them.
“Do you honestly think I would bring someone around Claire who I’m not a 100% certain would be safe for her?” Dean says, scowling at Sam. “Especially a long term friend or partner?”
“I mean, you bring her on hunts, so I wouldn’t be surprised.” Sam shrugs. "Just wondering."
He glares at Sam now, crossing his arms. “Will you get over that? I’m so sick and tired of explaining myself to you. You are not her dad, and you don’t have any say in how we live our lives. If you have such a problem with it, I can leave you here to find a ride back to Stanford.”
Jess crossed her arms as well. “Seriously Sam. I agree with him. Claire seems perfectly happy and well adjusted. Plus, she has people there if she ever wants to get out of hunting.”
“Yeah, like who? And how would you know?” Sam says, scoffing.
“Because she told me?” She says, raising an eyebrow, gesturing to Claire. "You know we talk a lot."
Claire had been quiet until this point, watching the argument like a tennis match. “Duh.” She rolled her eyes. “Grandpa Bobby and Grandma Ellen, Aunt Jo, and Uncle Ash all like me when I visit.”
Sam gave a confused looks at the unfamiliar names. “Well what about school?”
“Online.” She rolls her eyes again. “That’s why I have that computer.”
Sam gave a considering look. “Fine, whatever.” He says. “I need sleep. We can finish this in the morning.”
“Come on Claire, let’s go to sleep.” Dean says, bringing her back to the room. “We got a long day ahead of us tomorrow.”
“What was that, Sam?” Jess says, as they walk into the room. She closes the door and crosses her arms, waiting for Sam to say something. She had been mostly ambivalent to this whole thing, figuring this was a family matter. No more. She was taking a stand, and if Sam wanted to continue this relationship, he would fix his attitude.
“What was what?” Sam said, pulling the sheets down off the bed to get in.
“You know what.” Jess said. “What is your problem?”
“I don’t have a problem.” Sam said to her. “So I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“No, it’s pretty clear you have a problem.” She said, unwilling to let this go. “Is it because your brother is in a relationship and didn’t tell you, or because he’s in a relationship with a man?”
Sam stopped getting into bed, and turned to her. “You know that’s not the issue. I went to your sister's wedding with you! And we’re close!”
She shifted her stance. “Well, she isn’t related to you, so maybe it’s different when it’s in your own family.”
Sam gave her a hurt look. “You know it’s not about that. Please Jess, you know I’m not like that.”
She sighs and drops down on the bed. “Then what’s the issue?”
“It’s all the secrets.” He ran his fingers through his hair. “I know I don’t have a leg to stand on, since I was the one who stopped talking to him, but…”
She rubbed his back. “It still hurts to not be a part of his life anymore?”
He turns to her, and smiles sadly. “Dean was like…my brother, my mother, and my father all in one. We were family. It’s just…weird now that I don’t know anything about his life. “
She sighed. “Maybe you should try and listen to what he says? I mean come on Sam, no offense but, you need to stop being so judgmental about how Claire is living.”
He sighs again. “I know, I know. I just…don’t want her to wake up one day and hate Dean for making her live a hunter life.”
Jess sighed. “I know. But it seems like she’s happy with her life right now. And that she has people there to care for her, and give her stability if she needs it. She’s not you, Sam, so you need to stop acting like she is.”
“I know.” He said to her. “I know.”
“Let’s go to sleep, huh? We can talk to him tomorrow.” She said, getting under the covers. “Come on, you’ll feel better after you've slept.”
As Sam fell asleep, Jess could only hope that her talk had somewhat help.
“Who does he think he is?” Dean says, seething as Sam and Jess walked away. “Having the audacity-”
“Dean, calm down.” Cas says, putting a hand on his shoulder. “You’ll be okay.”
“No!” He said, moving Cas’s hand off his shoulder. “He stops talking to me and then has the gall to be mad when I don’t tell him everything about my life?”
“I’m gonna go to sleep.” Claire said, looking at both of them. “Good night.”
“Good night, Claire.” Cas says. “We’ll be in soon.”
She walks away to the room, and closes the door behind her.
Dean sighs and leans against the Impala. “I just…don’t get it Cas.”
“You’ll be fine.” Cas says to him. “Jess seems to be very sensible, so she can talk to him.”
“I hope so.” Dean says, running his hand through his hair. “You’ll still be there though, right?”
“Of course, Dean.” Cas smiled at him. “You know I’ll always come when you call.”
Dean gave him a small smile. “I know.” He could never thank Cas enough for appearing when he did, and staying around, even when it would have been better off to leave.
“Now, come on, you and Claire have a big day tomorrow. Better to go to sleep so I don’t have to hear you complain about being tired.” Cas says.
“I don’t complain about it.” Dean says to him. "And a case is hardly a big day."
“And Gabriel doesn’t like sweets.” At Dean's look of annoyance Cas shrugs and says, “Sorry, I thought we were telling lies.”
“You spend too much time with Gabriel.” Dean says. “What’s next, dirty jokes?”
Cas’s face scrunched up in disgust. “Please, I would never stoop that low.”
“Come on.” Dean said, grabbing Cas’s arm. “Let’s go. I don’t want to deprive you of your creepy 'watching me sleep time'.” Dean laughed as Cas gave him an unimpressed look, but immediately felt nauseous as he looked inside the motel room. “Man, you know that I get sick when you do that.”
Cas said nothing, but gave him a smug look. Dean rolled his eyes, and Claire looked between the two of them from the bed.
“You’re talking to Sam tomorrow right?” She said sleepily. “Can I hang out with Jess instead?”
“Sure kiddo.” He said, combing his finger through her hair. She yawned sleepily. “Whatever you want to do.”
She nodded sleepily, and he smiled at her. “Sweet dreams.”
She fell back asleep, and Dean got ready for bed and laid down. Cas sat down on the chair, with the tv on low. “Sweet dreams, Dean.”
Dean rolled his eyes. “Good night, Cas.”
The next case brought them to an abandoned asylum of all places, in Rockford, Illinois. After a few bits of trial and error, they managed to figure out what the issue was. Of course, that was when Sam had gotten affected by the ghost they were hunting.
Dean looked as Jess stared at Sam, pleading him to calm down. He crossed his arms, and looked at Sam, who had been angrily muttering to himself. “No, come on, I want to hear what he has to say.”
They had argued a bit on and off during the whole case, with the previous tension of the whole reveal thing not being resolved still apparent in their interactions.
Dean glared at Sam.
Sam glared back, eyes wild with rage. “I am so sick of your secrets! What else are you hiding? Do you also know where Dad is, and just want to drag me along?! Is that haven't we found him yet?”
“Obviously I don’t Sam.” Dean said, scowling. “If I did, do you think I would have gotten you?”
“Yeah, I do!” Sam said, getting louder. “You don’t want to be alone! It’s almost pathetic!”
“Sam, calm down!” Jess pleads with him. “We just need to find the body and burn it and you’ll be better!”
“No!” Sam said. “I can finally speak my mind! Dean, you don’t get it do you? No matter what you do, Dad doesn’t want to be found! So why are we doing his dirty work for him! It doesn’t get us any closer to finding him. It’s like you’re his little soldier taking orders, it’s disgusting.”
Dean gives him a cool stare. “I don’t care what John Winchester wants. But the fact that you consider saving people to be a side mission to all this is quite honestly disappointing.”
“Sam, come on.” Jess pleads with him, touching his shoulder. “I know you can fight it.” Sam reacts in an instant. He strikes her, and she falls down in a slump, before trying the same with Dean. They fight before Dean gets free again. He looks at Jess on the floor, and then looks at Sam.
“Fine.” Dean says, taking out his gun. “You want to get rid of me! You hate me? You want to orphan my daughter? Go ahead. I won’t stop you.”
Sam looks conflicted for a moment before picking it up. “No more lies.” He clicks the safety off and prepares to take a shot. The moment he pulls the trigger, the sound of an empty shot rings through.
Dean takes Sam’s moment of confusion before knocking him upside the head and watching Sam crumple down to the ground. “Man, I’m not gonna let you handle a loaded gun. I’m not trying to make Claire an orphan twice.” He manages to salt and burn the body before Sam wakes up completely. Both he and Jess groan upon waking up and look at each other.
Sam frantically looks at Jess, and frets over her. “Jess, are you okay?” He asks her. “I’m so sorry, did I hurt you?”
“I’m fine.” She groans. The blood streaking across her temple is bleeding sluggishly. “Just a major headache.”
“Right.” Sam says awkwardly.
“I’m okay.” Dean says to them after they ignore him completely. “If anyone was wondering.”
Sam winces again. “Sorry.”
With a silent glance back at the door the body had been behind, they all head back.
“Let’s head out to the car.”
"I’m sorry about the whole…Cas thing.” Sam says, when they get out to the car. “I was out of line.”
“Yeah, you were.” Dean says to him. Jess is getting into the car, so she can’t hear the conversation they’re having. He’s glad he told Claire to stay at the hotel with Cas for this one, it had gotten messy in the end. “But whatever. I don’t want to have a full scene where we tearfully apologize and promise that we won’t keep secrets anymore.”
“So…” Sam hesitated before continuing. “We’re good then? You know I’m not…like that right? I was just upset at the secret keeping, but don’t worry, Jess set me straight.”
Dean looked at Sam right in the eye. “If you don’t marry her soon Sam, I'm going to propose for you.”
Sam blushed and said in a slightly lower tone, “I already have the ring, I’m just waiting for a good time.”
“Then you’ll be waiting forever. We’re hunters, it’s never a good time.” Dean points out. “Do it sooner rather than later, it’ll be better for the both of you.”
"Sounds like you're speaking from experience.” Sam jokes. “I’ll think about that.” It’s quiet for a moment before Sam asks, “So, you and Cas, huh? How’d you guys meet?”
“That…is a long ass story.” Dean says. “One we don’t have time for. All you really need to know is that he pulled me out of a very bad place, and I owe a lot to him for everything he did.”
Sam nodded. “Got it. Maybe one day we’ll have time for that very long story.”
Dean laughed and shook his head. “Maybe.”
Sam was quiet for a moment. “You know I didn’t mean any of that, right? When the spirit affected me?”
“Sure, Sam.” Dean said, not looking at him. “I know.” It was hardly convincing when he said it, and he knew Sam could tell. Before Sam could induce another chick flick moment, he held a up hand. “Let’s just…get going.”
Oh, how he hated this with all his heart. He glared at Sam. “No.”
Claire looked at him, and then Sam, but said nothing. She had known his aversion to taking cases in Kansas, and had never asked him, despite knowing she was curious about why.
“What?” Sam said to him. “What do you mean, no?”
“I mean,” Dean said slowly, like he thought Sam was stupid, “no. I’m not going.”
“Why not?” Sam asked, giving him a weird look.
“Because I said so.” He said to Sam. Claire rolled her eyes behind him. He knew she hated that sentence, but it was the truth. “I’m not saying you can’t go, I’m saying I won’t.”
“But…why?” Sam asks him, not understanding. “This woman needs our help.”
“Why don’t you and Jessica go in this case? It would be nice for just you two to have a bit of time away, and would be beneficial for all of you.” Cas points out, as he had been silent the whole time until then. "It would give you much needed alone time."
Sam gives him an unhappy look, but Jessica brightens. She puts her hand on his shoulder and smiles. “I think it’s a great idea, Sam.”
Sam sighs. “Fine. We’ll let you know how it goes.”
As they left the room, Dean plopped down onto the bed, and put his head in his hands. Claire sat next to him, pressing her side into his, while Cas sat down next to him. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.” Dean said, looking up again. “That was a good idea though, sending Sam with Jessica.”
“Well, it was particularly selfish of me.” Cas says. “I wanted to spend time with you and Claire again. Especially now that the cat is out of the bag.”
“Look at you, using references.” Dean said, elbowing him. “I’m so proud.”
Cas rolls his eyes. “How can I not when that’s 95% of how you speak.”
“Whatever.” Dean rolls his eyes back. “Do you think Sam will propose?”
“I think Jess might beat him to it, honestly. She seems like the type to get tired of waiting.” Cas says.
Claire giggled. “Me too.”
Dean laughed. “Wouldn’t that be funny?” He sighed and said, “While they’re busy with a case, what do you want to do?”
Claire frowned, thinking. “I don’t know.” She smiled for a moment. “Let’s visit Uncle Gabe!”
Dean sighed deeply. “Fine.” He gave her a look. “But only if you stop calling him that.”
Claire’s answering grin promised nothing.
Sam smiled at Jess, who was in the driver’s seat. With Cas joining them more since the recent reveal, they had to get another car. Jess was particularly fond of this one, and smiled at Sam as she drove.
“So, first case alone, how are we feeling?” she said, laughing. “Are you excited?”
“I guess…?” He said to her. “Honestly, I’m more concerned about these visions. What they are, where they came from, why they’re happening now of all times.”
“I’m sure you’ll be, well, not fine, but I’m sure you’ll know soon enough.” She said. “If not, we can always try my house or Bobby. There’s enough lore in there to make a library jealous.”
He nodded. “Yeah, I guess. It would be weird seeing Bobby though, you know. I haven’t talked to him in ages. I mean, it’s still weird even now, with Dean.”
“Well, Dean is a whole different person from the last time you talked.” she says to him. “So it’s obvious there would be some struggles. Especially now with Claire. Parenthood changes you.”
“Is that something you ever think about?” Sam asked her. “Kids?”
“Not really.” She says. “I mean, if we ever get married, I think one or two mini-Sam’s would be cute. But if it doesn’t happen, I won’t be heartbroken.”
“I think they should be mini-Jess’s instead.” Sam says, smiling at her. “Better for everyone.”
She laughed. “Don't sell yourself short. Plus, then Claire could have someone to play with, even if there’d be an age difference.”
“Let’s focus on getting married first, huh?” He said to her, not thinking about what he just said. “Then maybe we can talk about it.”
“If that was your proposal, Sam Winchester, that was pretty disappointing.” Jess says to him. "At the very least, make it a question."
Sam freezes and turns to her, realizing what he inadvertently implied. “No….” He shifts uncomfortably. “I promise, I have something better.” His face flushes at his slip up.
“Good.” She smiles at him happily. “I’m waiting for it.”
Sam shakes his head and laughs. “I’ll remember that.”
They manage to drive align the next few hours easily, random conversation taking place, until they pull up on the house.
“This is the one?” She asked him. “You’re sure of it?”
“I am.” Sam says. “Let’s at least meet the woman who lives there, then we can decide what to do.”
Jess nods. They get out of the car and she knox’s on the door. She smiles at the woman. “Hi, I’m Jessica Moore and this is Sam Winchester-”
Before she could fishing her sentence, the woman perked up. “Winchester? I think I saw a few things of yours in the attic. Come on in.”
They walked inside, with Jess looking around. The air felt…static. There was definitely something wrong with the house, of that he was sure. Jess smiled at Sarah, and turned to Sam, who was looking around with a sort of melancholy.
“Here you go.” Sarah said, handing Sam a box. “I think there’s a few photos in there, among other things. I found it when I was cleaning the attic out.”
“Yeah, we never had time to grab any stuff after the fire.” Sam said quietly. “My dad wanted to get away as quickly as possible, you know?”
Sarah nods solemnly. “I’m sure.”
As they were quiet for a moment, Jess asked. “I’m sorry to ask this but…have you had any weird experiences in this house? Sam’s brother and I recently were discussing his old house, and he mentioned a few things. I was curious if it was still an issue.”
Sarah looked troubled. “A few things. Scratching sounds, like mice, no matter how often I try to get rid of them, lights flickering, and my daughter…” She sighed, running her hands through her hair. “She says she sees this burning thing sometimes. It really frightens her.”
Jess smiles softly at the woman, and elbows Sam in the side, who nods. “Yeah, that sounds right. Any cold spots, no matter if the heat is turned on or not?”
“Yeah, now that you mention it.” She says. “I don’t know what to do.”
“We might be able to help with that.” Jess says. “As long as you take everything we do with a grain of salt.”
Sarah looks relieved. “Anything. My daughter is terrified to go to sleep in her own room. I feel like I’m losing my mind. Anything, even if it’s just something fake to help my daughter, I’ll happily accept.”
Sam smiled at her. “We’d be happy to help.”
They walked out to the car, and sat down. Sam flipped through his dads journal and looked at the first entry. “Just like I thought.”
“What?” Jess asked him.
“My dads first entry into his journal.” Sam points to it. “It says, I went to Missouri and found the truth. I always thought he meant the state, but what if it was a person instead?”
“I knew there was a reason I loved you.” Jess aid, laughing. “So do you know where to find this mystery person?”
Sam held up the newspaper in his hand. “I might have an idea.”
“Sam Winchester, well don’t you look adorable.” Missouri said, greeting him. “All grown up! And you must be Jess. I’m so glad Dean was able to save you in time.”
She smiled too. “Me too.”
“Come in, come in.” She said, gesturing for them to follow. “I know you have things you want to talk about, let’s get into it, huh?”
They sat down as Missouri smiled at them, handing them each some tea. “First, I want to say, I’m sorry I missed your brother, but I’m sure he’s having fun with his child and significant other.”
Sam gives her a look. “How do you know about Claire? Or Castiel, for that matter?”
Missouri gives him a look. “I’m psychic Sam. You’re thinking about it pretty loudly, why wouldn’t I know about them?”
Jess laughs behind her teacup, and Sam scowls at her. He turns back to Missouri. “Yeah, I am. But we’re on a case, and that’s more important.”
Missouri placed her hand on Sam’s. “You need to let go of your anger. Dean has been through a lot, and so have you. Neither of you are the people you used to be, so maybe try to stop holding on to that so much, huh?”
Sam sighed. “I know, I knew. Easier said then done, though.”
Jess gave his shoulder a quick rub. “You’re doing fine. We’ll get there eventually. I believe in you, Sam.”
Sam gave her a smile, and she gave him one back. She turned to Missouri. “So, do you know what's going on with the old Winchester house?”
“I have kept an eye on it, for many years.” Missouri says. “I always thought that something would happen once it was rebuilt. The dark marks of the supernatural left huge gaping wounds there, attracting malevolence. We could try and purify the house, if Sarah doesn’t mind us coming over and messing up her house.”
“She said we could do anything, as long as we helped.” Sam said. “Her daughter is terrified.”
“Well, then,” Missouri says. “let’s get going.”
They pack up and head over to the house, and Missouri directs Sam and Jess to do the ritual she had. Something about it though, leaves Sam still unsatisfied. Like an itch he still needs to scratch. He doesn’t doubt Missouri, it’s clear she knows her stuff, he just feels…off.
He’s later proven right when Sarah calls them, terrified. “I saw it too! She’s not imagining this…I need you to help me, please.”
They manage to get back to the house, and Sam is face with someone he never thought he would see again.
His mother.
She smiles at him, and cups his face. “Sam, my baby. I’m so proud of you, and what you’ve accomplished. And Dean, tell him I love him and miss him. I heard he has a kid, a daughter. I wish I had been able to meet her. I’m so proud of both of you.”
She turns to Jess. “Keep my boys safe okay? Sam is real lucky to have you.”
She smiled at Sam one last time, giving his cheek a kiss. “I love you. Both of you. Tell Dean that…won’t you? Know that I never stopped loving you.” She turns to the spirit, angry. “And you…stay out of my house…and away from my boys.”
She managed to grab onto the spirit, burning it, and disappeared with it. Sam was still for a moment, before collapsing to the ground onto his knees. It was over. He could feel her spirit was gone, and Missouri confirmed it.
Jess sighed, sat down next to him and rubbed Sam’s shoulders. “Come on, let’s get going.”
They head outside, and have a brief discussion with Sarah, and bid her goodbye. He turns to Missouri and gives her a smile. “Thanks for helping us. I don’t know what we would have done with out you.”
“I think you would have been fine. You’re plenty capable Sam, and your power is growing. You knew that this was unfinished, even when I thought otherwise.”
Sam turned to her. “Do you know? What’s wrong with me?”
“No.” she said. “But I know you’ll be just fine. You have Jess and Dean, even Castiel and Claire, to help you along. I wouldn’t worry too much about the future. Enjoy the now, something tells me you have something good headed your way.”
“Thanks. Missouri.” Jess said, giving her a hug. “We really appreciate it.”
“Just make sure to invite me to the wedding.” She said, as she got ready to leave. “I already missed one, I don’t want to miss the other.”
With that confusing and cryptic remark, she took her leave and drove away. Sam watched as she left, utterly confused.
(Missouri entered the house, smiling at what Sam's future held. Her smile dropped when she saw who was sitting on her couch. "John Winchester, I ought to smack you across your own face. Your son was here, and you didn't even say hello to him."
"It's better this way." John said. "I'm almost there. I don't want to hurt them."
"Fine job you're doing. You know how much you're missing?"
"I know about Claire." John says. "Which is why I'm staying away."
"Well," Missouri said. "At least you're self aware.")
“Well, let’s head back shall we?” Jess says. “I’m sure Dean missed us.”
“If he even remembered us.” Sam snorts. “Claire probably had him all over the place.”
“I don’t doubt it.” She laughed.
They drove for a while, when Sam turned to her. He looked at her, really looked. She was so beautiful, the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. He was so immensely happy he was able to have a life with her, even after the would be accident. He couldn’t imagine life without her, and he was glad he didn’t have to. “Will you marry me?” the question just spilled out. “Wait, no. Let me ask again, in a more romantic setting.”
Jess laughed. “Sam, I don’t care how you propose. In fact, if you had waited any longer, I was going to steal the ring and do it myself.
“You knew?”
“Of course I knew. I’m not blind.”
“Right.”
It was quiet for a moment. “So is that a yes?”
“Put the ring on my finger doofus.”
Sam gave her a besotted look. “Anything for my fiancé.”
Jess laughed at him. “You’re such a dork.”
Sam wanted to treasure this moment forever. He smiled at her, like a love struck fool. “But I’m your dork.”
Jess laughed and turned the radio on. “Of course.”
This is perfect, Sam thinks, as they drive on. How did I ever get this lucky?
“How was the hunt?” Dean asked. “Anything good?”
“Just a standard ghost.” Jess said. “Honestly, it was probably better you weren’t there.”
“Yeah, you too couple it up or something?” Dean asked, shoving some fries in his mouth.
He could feel Cas’s displeasure as he said, “Dean, manners?”
He grinned at Cas, plopping another fry in his mouth. Jess moved to fix her hair, since it had gotten in her face, and the sunlight sparkled against something.
Fries forgotten, he looked at her in shock. He blinked a few times and said to Sam, “Dude, did you propose?”
“I did.” Sam said, beaming. “She said yes.”
“I said yes.” She said, laughing. “How could I not?”
“Finally!” Dean said, grinning. “I’ve been waiting for this.”
“So have I.” Jess said, dryly.
Dean laughed, and Sam smirked at him. “Well, I did beat you in one thing, at least.”
Dean gave him a look. “What are you talking about?”
“I mean, you may have had a kid first, but I’m getting married first.” Sam said, smugly.
Dean laughed. Loudly. Loud enough that he could feel people looking at them. He lowered his volume, and shook his head. “Sam, I’m sorry to burst your bubble.”
Jess looked at him wide eyed. She had already figured it out.
“Huh?” Sam asked, looking at him confused. He dragged a fry through the ketchup and popped one in his mouth.
Dean smirked at him, smugness pouring off of him. “I’m already married.”
He held up his hand, the ring Sam had noticed briefly before now on proud display. It was a shiny black ring, one Sam had noticed but never paid attention to.
It was silent until Sam whipped his head towards him.
“What?”
