Amaze

Summary:

Sonic is sporadic, a daredevil and an avid adventurer at heart. He lets his passion free him from any chains of responsibility, and always carries a courageously bold grin. There’s never an ounce of hesitation when it comes to fighting Dr. Eggman, and like the wind, he brings forth chaos instead of order.

While Blaze is the complete opposite: She’s stern, quiet, humorless, prideful, dissimulate, and always has a stick up her ass!

Yup, Amy would never fall for someone like that.

Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Walking along the busy streets of Meteor City, Amy Rose had a shopping bag dangling from one hand and her newly bought smartphone on the other. Amy had decided that today was the perfect day to go out and find herself a new bathing suit as her older ones were growing too small for her body. After all, Rouge had invited her and the rest of the gang to come hang by a beach house she had rented to celebrate Sonic's birthday. As much as Amy would love to wear something to try and seduce the love of her life, those swimsuits of hers would probably cause her to look to fat.

Shortly after accidentally wandering into the wrong store and accidentally buying a couple of summer shorts for herself, she was making her way downtown to spot any other places where she can go in to explore for a swimsuit. After stepping out of the store she had came from, Rouge decided to surprise Amy with a call out of the blue. The two were now having a lengthy conversation about boys as the pink hedgehog was trying to dodge any people on the street as casually as possible.

"So, Amy, have you tried anything with Big Blue yet~?" purred the jewel thief. She was suggesting something sexual but Amy didn't catch on.

"You bet I have!" Amy puffed her cheeks out and gripped her shopping bag just a bit tighter, " I gave him a birthday card yesterday and he barely acknowledged it—"

"I'm almost sure he said thank you honey. He even gave you a hug to compensate."

"—baked that delicious cake that everyone ate yesterday—"

"I do have to hand it to you, you're a pretty good baker."

"And—!"

"...Aaand?"

"I didn't even try to kiss him yesterday! I think I should get some credit for holding myself back." The hedgehog frowned. She really wanted that to be his birthday present, hence why she didn't bring an actual gift. (I guess the cake could be considered one but that's beside the point.)

"Amy, sweetie, he respects you plenty." Stated Rouge in the most compassionate way possible. "He doesn't seem to want to run away from you anymore because you keep doing your job and hold yourself back. If he doesn't like you then you shouldn't persist....But! He does act nervous whenever anyone mentions about you near hi—"

"I knooow. What should I do Rouge?" Cried the hedgehog as she stopped at a street corner, idly flinging her shopping bag back and forth.

Rouge took a deep breath after being interrupted mid sentence. She popped her lips together as she debated whether to finish the most important sentence in Amy's life or to move on. Something was clicking in the background, "...I'll tell you what you need to do. You need to stop thinking about him so much, and start living life! Life's only so short before you get as old as me."

Amy lightly chuckled at that comment. "Aren't you like a few years older that me?"

"I know, such a tragedy. I can already see my fur growing white from the constant stress of comforting you about your crush nearly every other week." She exhales with an exaggerated sigh.

"Meheh, my bad." Amy's ears lowered due to embarrassment. She tried to catch herself from smiling too widely in public because of it. "Thanks again for like, letting me talk to you about my feelings." There was a small pause before Amy had the courage to ask her an important last question. "How do I keep Sonic out of my mind?"

"Ay ya, you truly are hopeless against the power of love." There was another deep inhale at the other end of the line and some metal clanking against metal in the background. "Listen, what you need to do is find yourself a hobby or start doing things that you normally wouldn't do like going out with a friend to eat or something. I'd love to go with you honey but unfortunately have my hands full right now. Omega needs some parts to be repaired and he's not going to be ready for beach volleyball if his arms aren't going to rise above his head without his legs giving out."

"Oh yeah! I forgot that the entire gang was coming along on a road trip in the next few week or so." She glances along the many small restaurants and cafés lined along the city's downtown area. All she could see instead of couple's faces was hers and Sonics, walking down the street hand in hand. 'I have to drive him out of my mind for now. Rouge is right, I'm getting too obsessed.' "...Alright Rouge, I'll leave you to your busine—"

There was an exploding sound followed by a faint hiss"—MMMaybehmightsecretlylikeyoubackbye~!" Rouge then quickly hung up.

"—business...bye..." Amy ended the call and shoved her phone inside of her bag. Her cheeks and the tips of her hears had instantly flushed to fit a shade of crimson. She kept her gaze against the floor as she walked among the sidewalk of the streets. Her mind was rewinding the words that Rouge had mentioned to her just before the call was cut abruptly short due to some Omega malfunction, as so Amy presumed. She could feel her heart race at the thought of the unrequited love she felt for Sonic was, in fact, mutual all along. With this speculation in mind,  she was practically bouncing on the heels of the toes as she now danced graciously past the group of people.

Following her temporary cloud nine experience, she had arrived to a coffee shop called Chaos Cafe. She peeled through the tinted windows to see what was up inside. 'Alright, I have to keep Sonic out of my mind before I drive myself even more crazy!' Amy reminded herself. Despite telling herself to not try and remember the boy she was falling head over heels over, there was a grin plastered on her face that showed no signs of her train of thought stopping. She entered the place without a care in the world and headed over to the line of people who were waiting for their orders to be taken.

The coffee shop had a relaxing atmosphere to it as the decore revealed itself to be. Smooth solid oak floors covering the shop, it's dark brown color mirroring the same shade of brown along the curtains decorating the large window of the shop. White round tables were scattered over the shop with the back corner dedicated to a small booth and a working station located alongside the wall and the window were placed around the perimeter. The entire place smelled like freshly grind coffee beans and something lee that Amy couldn't quite figure out. She continued to smile as she examined the wide variety of different types of coffees and pastries, quietly humming to herself as she decided on what to get. Amy slowly inched her way to the front of the line as the minutes ticked on.

"Hello, How may I help you?" Asked the woman up front as soon as Amy had reached the front of the line. The white rabbit seemed a little tired but her attempt of trying to maintain a positive work attitude impressed the hedgehog.

"I'd like a small latte with extra cream please. Oh! And a slice of strawberry cheesecake to go with that." Amy pointed to the pastry displayed along the counter to the side.

"Anything else?" The bunny asked, suppressing a yawn.

"That will be all." She chirped.

"Alright, that will be 680 rings."

Amy had to hold herself steady in order to prevent herself from falling over. '680 rings?! I should've checked the prices first...' She bit the inside of her cheek as she felt all feelings immediately drain from her body and seep into the ground below. 'Maybe if I tell the truth, nothing bad will happen except a little embarrassment, right?' She titled her head to the side in order to see just how many people were behind her and holy shit did the line nearly doubled itself. '....Oh like hell im going through with that...' Amy whipped her head around to face the bunny girl who was now beginning to rub her the wrong way. She now seemed a little irked that Amy hadn't paid up yet, in which the hedgehog didn't blame her at all for. She dove her hand into her back pocket to fish out her wallet. Her face was as red as a tomato and her only repeating thought now was, 'run away run away run away'.

"Here. I'll pay." Came a familiar voice from behind Amy. Before she could protest, however, a white presumably gloved hand reached out to place the exact amount on the table. Amy froze in place and was left wondering who this person was. Almost instantaneously, the thought of Rouge's voice were echoing inside of her skull. 'Wait a second...is—no...could this be Sonic??' However when Amy turned to face her knight in shining armor, she was surprised to come face to face with a pair of golden eyes instead of forest green.

"...Blaze??"
