Work Text:
When Kaiser met Isagi for the first time, he preferred to act like a king, waiting for the servants and commoners to bow down before his authority to show their loyalty.
However, Isagi Yoichi was not the type of person who would easily submit to anyone, even if it was someone with a superiority complex like Kaiser. This made him very interested in the enigma that was this dark-haired man. For some reason, a desire arose within him to tame a wild beast like Yoichi; ironically, the one who ended up being hunted and tamed by those blue eyes was himself, although he would never admit such a thing.
Kaiser felt a bit nostalgic, remembering those moments of youthful ignorance. They were both so young and inexperienced, believing that they would always get whatever they wanted if they wished for it. There were several ups and downs along the way they had taken, but at least they had each other to face those adversities.
That's why, after more than twelve years of knowing each other and ten years of living together, Kaiser believed it was time to give Isagi a promise ring.
A ring that promised to belong to him and only him for the rest of his life.
A ring that represented the promise of a future together in a more formal way. A step they had to take together to unite their souls more than they already did.
After the season of matches in the Bastard München ended, Kaiser thought it would be good to take a short vacation to travel throughout Europe with Isagi, and when the big day arrived, they both decided to go to Paris to visit the Eiffel Tower and create memories together before returning to Germany. Isagi ran to the platform to appreciate the Parisian view from that enormous height. Kaiser took advantage of his distracted boyfriend and leaned behind him, putting one of his knees on the ground in front of all the other visitors while taking out a small black velvet box from his coat. It was ironic that Michael Kaiser had never knelt before anyone or anything in his entire life, and now he found himself doing it to propose to the person who had taught him countless emotions over the years. The king was getting down on his knees before the man who had turned his life around 360 degrees from the first moment their eyes locked.
The excited screams of some women made Yoichi turn around and see Michael kneeling in front of him while holding out a silver ring with small blue diamonds.
"Isagi Yoichi, would you like to share the rest of your life with me?"
Isagi was so surprised that he didn't know what to say at that moment. However, tears threatened to fall from his eyes, and his cheeks were rosy. Without thinking twice, he ran towards Kaiser and hugged him tightly on the ground, almost causing them to fall in the process.
"Yes!" It was the first thing he said. "Of course, idiot!" For Michael, it was one of the happiest moments of his life.
The two stood up and, regardless of what others said, shared a small hug. Michael took Yoichi's left hand and leaned down a bit to place a kiss on it as Yoichi watched him put that promise ring on his ring finger.
People around them began to applaud and congratulate them on their engagement. Isagi threw himself into Kaiser's arms while he held his face in his hands and joined their lips in a tender, long kiss that was met with much happiness.
The next thing on the list was to talk to Yoichi's parents to formally ask for his hand and receive their blessing.
Although neither were in a hurry to get married, they still debated what kind of wedding they would have, whether a normal Classic-style wedding or a completely oriental Japanese-style wedding. Not to mention that they had to formalize their commitment legally and civilly in both Japan and Germany.
"I would like to get married three times."
"How greedy."
"A traditional-style wedding, a Japanese-style wedding, and a civil registry wedding."
"It sounds like you want to tie me to you in many ways."
"Probably, so you would have to divorce me several times, and even then you couldn't because for the Japanese, a marriage is unbreakable."
"I could never conceive of the idea of separating from you. If you ever want to divorce me, I'll eat all our marriage certificates."
"That's going too far."
The two began to laugh as they held hands and headed to Yoichi's parents' house to talk to them.
They still had many things to plan and organize, but they had all the time in the world to do it.
"Have you thought about it? When we get married, I'll leave my last name to become «Kaiser Yoichi»"
"I like how that sounds."
"Me too."
"Your friends are going to hate me for taking your last name too."
Isagi laughed again. "They'll have to get used to it."
