No, no, no!
Nanami blinks his eyes very slowly, he hears Haibara gasping behind him, but he ignores it, his beta, his boyfriend is fine. The blonde doesn't want to believe what he's hearing: Gakuganji-Sensei is saying that he's been engaged to Gojo Satoru, being that he's only 16 and Gojo is only 17, and neither of them has consented about it.
Nanami thinks that neither of them consented to this, from the disgusted expression on the white-haired senpai's face, which is not the only one, Naobito Zen'In doesn't look happy either. He should have suspected something was wrong the moment Yaga-Sensei told him they wanted to talk to him. What more would these old men want from him, except to rub it in his face that in this rotten society, he is nothing but an omega.
"But... Kento and I are dating..." Haibara mutters, his eyes glistening with tears that wanted with all their might to run down his pudgy cheeks. Kento pulls him closer, to comfort him, still stunned about everything else.
"As if a beta would consolate an omega..." Gakuganji teases laughing, a true prejudice in the flesh. "Nanami-kun, the last omega in the records, is going to be promised to the heir of Ilimited and Six Eyes, Gojo Satoru."
"He doesn't have any drop of blood in jujutsu, he's a non-pure omega! What if Satoru Gojo's future heirs are born without a drop of cursed energy?" Naobito asks with disgust pointing to the only omega present.
"It doesn't seem likely to me... Nanami-Kun has an excellent amount of cursed energy, it's Gojo-Kun's only chance right now. He belongs to Gojo, from now on, as soon as he finishes his fourth year, he will be mated.... No further discussion, these are orders from the superiors..." Gakuganji finishes turning around to return to Kyoto.
Nanami jumps out of his trance behind the director of the Kyoto jujutsu high.
"Wait! You can't do that! You didn't even ask me if I would accept, I don't want to mate with Gojo, I don't..." An oppressive shout from the older alpha present interrupts him.
"Insolent omega child... I don't know how it works where you came from, but in jujutsu society you have no other function except to exorcise curses, protect the younger generations, and serve an alpha for the rest of your life. I hate disobedient omegas, I hope Yaga puts you in line.... Tsk... These omegas these days think they have power over the superior race..." the old man laughs, looking the omega up and down "If you were pledged to me or Naobito, you would already be where you belong..."
The young omega's lower eyelid trembles at the sexist implication in the man's speech, a fist grips the robes of the elderly man, who chokes on the gesture as he is pulled away so that he is a short distance from the omega's enraged face.
"Superior race? If you are so superior why can't you breed by yourselves, so strong and so capable and you can't get pregnant, what a shame.... Without us, you are nothing, stop being ungrateful..." Nanami lets go of the scared man's clothes "Wake up, this is the 21st century, I can simply be a surrogate, since you want to give Gojo an heir so badly..."
The matter died there, Nanami continued to date Haibara until the day he died, died in front of him and he could do nothing. Then Geto dropped out of school...
Whatever the relationship between Gojo and Geto was, it died the moment Geto turned his back on Satoru, didn't look back and followed the path he is slowly building. It was when Nanami started the last year, alone in the classroom, talking solemnly to the teacher, since he had more than enough time to learn and relax during a class, being the only one (he hates that detail) that the teacher needs to bother teaching, that Gakuganji entered followed by the not-so-happy Gojo and Yaga.
Gojo forced a smile at him, before a frown replaced it as he turned back to Gakuganji. He hadn't seen his ex-senpai in a while, Gojo had said he was going to start teacher training for the future first year students of the school, but while the paperwork wasn't seen and reviewed by the stupid superiors, Gojo had to just do missions he was called to. He hasn't seen Geto since he defected, he only sees Shoko when he himself is not on missions, since even before she finished her senior year, she already had a job at the school.
"Omega, I am here to let you know that the wedding ceremony will be after your graduation. Hopefully your defiance has changed since we last talked about it..." the old man's gaze shifted from Omega to Yaga behind him, who remained unperturbed, so Nanami respects Yaga-Sensei, his willingness to beat up Gakuganji is very well hidden.
Like the insolent omega he was, he propped his chin on his hand, taking a cookie that was hidden in his pocket to his mouth, receiving surprised expressions and a Gojo covering his mouth to keep from laughing.
"Nanami... "Yaga scolds low, but it's no surprise to him, nor to the other teacher, who looks uncomfortable being in the room.
Yaga thought he could breathe a sigh of relief when Gojo, Geto and Shoko went to second year, but the school's gluttons, aka Nanami and Haibara, were good kids compared to the older pests, but it was impossible to get them to stop eating. Yaga had never seen anyone hide so much food in their pockets, but those two could do it.
Besides that whenever Yaga needed some student from Tokyo to represent the school, he always took the lovely Haibara. Why?
Taking Gojo or Geto was unthinkable, even though Geto was more docile and quiet when he was alone. To be able to convince Nanami or Shoko you needed to pay them or promise to give them something (in Shoko's case it was cigarettes, in Nanami's case it was bread or any other food that wasn't sweet). Haibara was much easier, even if Nanami's constant stingy influence got in the way enough that Haibara demanded that Yaga let him and Nanami eat in the classroom. Those were good times when it was the two of them against the world, with their hands entwined under the table.
"Why can't you people accept that I don't want this fucking mating? I'm young, I have power over my choices!"
"Not here... Here you are just an omega.... I will visit more often with the Gojo clan to update you on the marriage..."
Gakuganji seems offended by the omega as he turns his back on it, pulling Gojo with him.
"Control the omega before he meets your father..." Without waiting for a response, Gakuganji follows Yaga out of the school.
"See you tomorrow, Nanami-Kun, don't forget what I told you about your eyes..."
Gojo listens to the teacher speak to the blond before retreating into the hallway, puts his hands in his pockets and leans against the wall waiting for Nanami. He adjusts his sunglasses to his nose when he hears footsteps that he knows belong to the omega, without needing to feel his cursed energy or his omega-sweetened aroma.
"Gojo-San..."
The alpha looks at the blond, finally being able to observe him without the anger towards Gakuganji bothering him. His hair was shorter, the long bangs that he often watched Nanami pull behind his ear when it bothered his vision was now short, covering his entire forehead, similar to Haibara's cut. Dark circles under his naturally narrow eyes.
"Nanami... Did you cut your hair?"
Nanami automatically combed out his bangs, blushing a little, nodding at the answer.
"How have you... Huh... Been?" Gojo scratches the back of his neck, he doesn't know how to approach Nanami, given the situation they are in. "The teacher talked about your eyes, are you okay?" Gojo asks leaning in a good bit to get a better look at Nanami, who recoils at the alpha's proximity. "I'm sorry..."
"I just... My eyes have been too tired... I've been using them a lot on missions for my technique."
Satoru frowns, placing both hands on the blond's face, pulling him close to assess the dry, tired eyes, with the veins quite bulging.
"You should wear glasses, it helps."
He advises, not realizing that his hands remain on the younger man's cheeks. He notices when he notices the pinkish tint on the younger one's cheeks and pulls away.
"Listen..." the taller one scratches the back of his neck again, embarrassed. "None of us like this situation, and there's a chance that no one told you because it's not convenient for them to tell..."
It was a lie. Gojo wanted Nanami to be his omega, but he would never force the blond to stay with him just for his status and his importance in society. Gojo found the omega attractive. Not because he was an omega and had the typical delicate and somewhat feminine appearance like everyone else. He was attractive in Gojo's eyes because he was an omega with a firm footing. He blended among them, alpha and betas, as if he were one of them, was powerful (not as powerful as him or Geto, but strong), intelligent and stubborn.
How many times Nanami was defeated by Gojo during training and he never gave up until the alpha was distracted or he wouldn't attack because he thought he might hurt the omega. In matters of agility and brute strength without any trace of cursed energy, Nanami was the strongest of all, even Haibara and his superhuman strength without cursed energy were not capable of defeating Nanami. The blond was also extremely intelligent and used the environment around him as an aid to be able to win.
However, it is normal for alphas to be more careful about the strength or power used against an omega. Gojo does not like this imbalance between the two genders, as if this omega is like the others, he is simply the strongest, he can erase anyone from existence. So when he restrained himself in battles against Nanami, he would lose, because he didn't want to hurt him.
And the omega was attractive in personality. Gojo was relieved when his father told him that he was promised to Nanami, not some older omega.
"Once you graduate, get out..."
"That was already my plan, Gojo-San."
Gojo smiles, shaking his head, not at all surprised.
"My dear kouhai always ahead..."
Meeting Satoru's father was a disaster... Obviously the Gojo clan preserved a conservative idea of omegas, although the omegas family members were delighted with Nanami and her blonde hair, Satoru's father comments that he should be better groomed, that Nanami shouldn't wear such revealing clothes, the boy being only wearing some jeans that were a little tight on the hips and a white shirt, that he should just exist and be handsome.
Satoru's kicks were not enough to silence Nanami, who even though offended remained with the same stoic expression. And Satoru likes Nanami for this.
These constant meetings because of the wedding that is to be cancelled by Kento's departure from Jujutsu society, allowed the two to become closer than they had ever been. Gojo felt that he was in love but also respected Kento's space, so his friendly gesture of putting on his alpha-scented coat was just that: a friendly gesture.
The entire Gojo clan was present at Nanami's graduation, ready to drag the omega into the sex slave life of an alpha with ilimited power. The blackboard had the name Nanami Kento written in white chalk. Throughout Yaga's speech about the only student's schooling, Gojo massages the shoulders of the omega who he knows is uncomfortable with only his name written on the board.
"Go on... Do your thing...." Gojo whispers in his ear and the blond man swallows dryly looking at everyone before moving forward at a slow pace to the board.
Yaga stops the speech, the room sinks into silence as the professor was the only one speaking, Nanami stood still with his back to everyone watching him, staring at his name alone on the blackboard. He feels a few dusty stares pierce his back.
"I'm not the only one graduating today..." the omega announces, the chalk in contact with his sweaty skin allowing the desire for justice to be carried through his blood to his brain.
Dash by dash, the name Haibara Yu is written laden with affection, nostalgia, sadness. His knuckles touch delicately, afraid to spoil the white stroke of the line, as if it were Yu's cheek there. He doesn't notice when Satoru kicks everyone out of the room, remaining leaning against the closed door with his arms crossed, patiently waiting, knowing Nanami is feeling better.
At some point, which Omega can't remember exactly when, his forehead made contact with the blackboard, tears streaming from his caramel-colored eyes. Yu is missed so much, just as Suguru is missed by Satoru...
That late afternoon, Nanami Kento vowed not to return to that rotten world. He didn't swear to Satoru, but he swore to himself. He left in the hope of finding some better place for himself. It seems that none of the worlds accept him...
He should have known that. He should have remembered the contempt that the world of normals felt towards people like him, who see what should not be seen.
Although they were furious at the sudden and silent departure of the youngest omega present in Jujutsu society, the Gojo clan has no choice but to leave Satoru to his own devices for the time being.
Good for him... It was time for him to become the true head of the Gojo clan...
Years later, he returns: the omega promised to Satoru Gojo.
Gakuganji tried to persuade Satoru about it, but Gojo just ignored him. However, more mature now, something has changed between them. They are no longer senpai-kouhai, they're no longer former colleagues, they are friends.
Or something close to it.
Without Nanami realizing it, or maybe he did but accepted it anyway, Gojo starts wooing him. It starts with a warm bread every morning being delivered by the first year students' teacher.
Gojo dares to go further when he realizes that none of his loaves are rejected. The fluffy blanket scented with his scent is Nanami's treasured item when he falls asleep on the couch at school, thanks to overtime.
Then comes the coats and the nights spent in the house that Gojo has in the vicinity of the school, after Friday nights, nights of the adults' drunkenness.
Utahime is the first to fall, Gojo, despite being the party spirit, is the sober friend, he doesn't ingest a drop of alcohol. Kusakabe pretends to hold his own, but when he starts sliding his beer glasses halfway to someone who is still sober enough to ingest the extra alcohol, it is a sign that he is losing battle with alcohol. Gojo knows that alcohol beats Yaga when he starts badmouthing the students, the three former students present (Shoko, Nanami and Gojo) are always the favorite victims of his constructive criticism aka insults.
Shoko and Nanami are the best with alcohol, of course.
After all, it was Shoko who taught Nanami how to drink. However, by two drinks apart, Nanami loses. He always blames his omega status for this, forehead on the table, glass raised to unravel the facts. Shoko can only laugh, understanding almost nothing he says.
It's domestic for Satoru, putting Shoko and Utahime in a cab, Kusakabe and Yaga in another, and carrying Nanami on his back all the way home. Satoru's coat on Kento's back to protect him from the early morning plowing. He likes how unprotected Nanami gets drunk, he has no self-protection shields around him, and his tongue lets out all his accumulated feelings. Including sweet statements like cute compliments that Satoru loves and blushes to know are directed at him.
It is so domestic that it is already routine. The alpha removes the items of clothing from the omega that need to be taken off like the coat to facilitate movement during sleep or the shirt if it is wet or dirty or soiled. The shoes too.
Satoru takes a shower, checks on Megumi and Tsumiki, and eats something before going to bed. He arrives at his room, omega curled up in the comfort of the blankets, with only the tufts of blond hair peeking out.
It is also domestic how the Fushiguro has grown attached to the omega so easily. Always expecting the omega to rub his wrists against their cheeks. The poor children miss their omega mother and besides Nanami being an omega too, he attracts the youthful confidence of the two brothers.
He loves when he comes home from a mission that lasts for days to watch Kento cook, surrounded by the Fushiguro's or the three of them asleep on the couch, some movie playing on the TV as noise and background light. Satoru's little family, he thinks pushing the unruly strands away from the omega's face.
Without either really realizing it, they begin to share more of their home life with each other.
Satoru heats bottles to ease the omega's cramps, or Kento would prepare a nice meal after the alpha's monthly rut. Then, Satoru hears from his superiors for the first time in his life: he asks Nanami to marry him.
This is how he wanted it, to ask like a normal person, without being something arranged, to wait for his partner's answer. Nanami arches his eyebrow at him.
"Did you forget that we were engaged, Satoru?"
Nanami laughs at Satoru's face, with a pout on his glossed lips, turning to the room they have shared for a few months.
"Is that a yes?"
The omega turns to the alpha again, unbuttoning his shirt.
"What do you think?"
