Save Your Tears

Summary:

“The ultimate betrayal,” whispered Grian, jabbing the sword through Scar’s back. Grian went through Scar’s skin and muscle, and the sword was visible from the other side of his body.

“Help! Grian, what are-” Scar went silent, dying from blood loss. Grian’s diamond sword looked completely red from the other side, and he pulled it out of Scar’s dead body. Scar fell to the ground, completely coated in blood.

Work Text:

Scar was laughing, Bdubs and Cleo next to him. Grian wanted to feel good for Scar, his former soulmate. Former partner. Former whatever they had together. Scar was enjoying himself, he was with his found family.

But Grian couldn’t help but feel jealous. Joel and Jimmy were both dead, and Grian was completely alone. There was a strange tension between the two of them, and he couldn’t figure out why.

Grian hopped off of the top of his now mouldy bread, diving into the roof of the mansion. Smoothly landing into the water, he swam back up to the surface, and climbed onto the remains of Bread Bridge. There was only a metre wide strip of wood on the edge now, with the rest of the bridge being blown-up farmland and flowing water.

“You killed brother…” hissed Scar, angry and grieving for Bdubs. “You killed my brother!”

Grian felt sorry for making Scar so mad, but what was he meant to do? He was desperate for time, and had such little life left. He looked down, where his right hand was tightly gripping the diamond sword he held. It was covered with fresh blood, still dripping. His hands were red too, partially from the blood and partially from the cold.

Scar was wiping away the tears from his eyes, revealing the angry glint of his bloodthirsty, red eyes. He slid his sword out of his belt, glaring at Grian.

“I’m sorry, but they were all attacking me! And… I’m running out of time. I’m going to die soon, you know,” said Grian, walking a bit closer to Scar. “Honest. I’m truly sorry, dude.”

“Okay,” muttered Scar, walking away from Grian and towards spawn. Grian felt as Scar was trying to avoid him, which twisted his stomach even more. Grian cared for Scar, and had been caring for him for the past three games.

Grian watched Scar walk towards the wall, and off into the Nosy Neighbors tower. He had never felt more alone, more isolated, than at that very moment. Why couldn’t Scar just talk to him? Everyone Grian cared about always died or left him, leaving him to be alone. Every. Single. Time.

Grian could basically feel his past lives as they played through in his head, all his experiences with Scar. 3rd life, Last Life, Double Life.

Scar was looking up at the clock tower, trying to figure out a plan. Grian snuck up behind him, watching. Waiting. Carefully unsheathing his sword from his belt, silently taking steps towards Scar. He knew he shouldn’t do it, but every bone in Grian’s body told him to kill Scar now. Get it all done now, kill him like he killed you and your Bad Boys.

“What have I done, what have I done…” muttered Grian, kneeling down to Scar’s dead body. “Scar, oh, Scar-”

They say lightning doesn’t strike the same place twice, but a bolt of lightning struck down where Scar died, taking his body with it. All that was left was a pool of Scar’s blood and his orange-tinted glasses.

“I’m sorry…”
