    Peter blinks harder this time.

    “How old are you?”

    Miles ducks his head and laughs, a wince on his face. He doesn’t look mad. But then again, he doesn’t look like Miles either, scratching at the stubble on the edge of his strong, definitely not eighteen anymore, jaw.

    “Twenty-six.”

    “Right.” Peter nods, like he’s not screaming-freaking-out internally. “Cause that makes total sense.”

    Because someone up there hates Peter Parker, Miles Morales—eight years from the future—becomes his problem one Saturday afternoon.

    Well, perhaps that's not quite accurate. Peter becomes his problem.

    (And that's not even mentioning his crumbling friendship with Miles in present-day. Oof.)
