Chapter Text
What are you doing to me?
Chapter 1
Seele was sitting at a table in the nearest cafe in the Administrative District, thinking about the latest events that had occurred. The trailblazers had only been gone for a month, but so much already changed on Jarilo-VI. For example the work everyone had to absolve. Not only the Silvermane guards but also Wildfire. Running from one place to another was stressful and everybody was trying their hardest to keep up.
As she was leaning her head on one of her hands and a deep frown on her brows, she continued to follow her thoughts. She wasn’t able to sleep in the past week and with all the monsters still lurking around in the Underworld, it sure was difficult to get some rest. Today was one of the fewer days she had off and knowing that, Natasha decided to meet and catch up a bit.
Seele was suddenly shaken awake from her thoughts and saw Natasha with a gentle smile on her lips as she opened her eyes. “I knew you didn’t get much sleep, but this is worse than I thought, if you fall asleep in the open like this”, commented Natasha and chuckled a bit. She still had her hand on Seele’s shoulder. ‘When did I even drift asleep..’, wondered Seele. She took Nat’s hand in hers and said: “Don’t worry about me, I’ll be combat ready if needed”, she squeezed her hand reassuringly. Natasha laughed halfheartedly. “I’m sure of it. At least once you get proper sleep”, she patted Seele on the shoulder, took the chair across from her out and sat down. A waitress came and took her order, Seele not wanting anything.
“So..”, Nat began speaking, “Aside from fighting and delivering supplies all the time what have you been up to?” She took a careful sip of her hot coffee and looked expectantly at Seele. “Ugh, it feels like I’ve only been doing that!”, she groaned, leaving her arms lump at her side and laying her head on the table with a little ‘thud’. Natasha chuckled lightly at her antics, as if she was a kid and asked: “Surely you must’ve been up to something. Or doing stuff with someone” Seele looked up confused. Nat was smirking strangely at her and she didn’t know if she was in trouble or if she was teasing her about something. She had never seen that smirk before.
Seele only blinked. “What?”, she asked. “What should I have been up to anyway? And if, I can do stuff alone you know?” Natasha was extremely trying not to facepalm. Her expression told Seele that something went unnoticed. Natasha sighed. “Maybe you are too exhausted to have enough energy to think about it”, she said and took another sip. “Anyway, the Underworld is currently doing fine and you can take a week off” She shushed Seele with a finger stretched in the air, before she could speak. “This is not an offer” With a piercing gaze Natasha looked over at Seele killing the room for arguments.
“What the hell should I even do during my week off..?”, she mumbled underneath her breath, looking to the side with a slight pout. Natasha obviously heard that. She smirked at her again. “Maybe you could spend time with that Supreme Guardian of yours”. She calmly took the last sip of her coffee, while letting Seele process what she just said. ‘my Supreme Guardian…’ Seele started blushing and hid her face from the world, slamming loudly into the table with her upper body. The chief of Wildfire did expect a reaction out of Seele, but this still surprised her.
‘Oh, so that’s how it is’ she thought. As Natasha walked over to Seele, she heard her mumble something under her breath: “It’s NOT what you think” Natasha simply patted her head. “Keep your denial, sweetheart. See you later!”
And this was the moment Seele realized, one does not feel like this with normal friends. Now it’s up to her to define what “this” is.
