Work Header

Now, standing in an abyss of despair, you jumped into the railway crossing.

Summary:

"What the hell are you going to do, Toya?!"

He called out to me in a worried tone as I walked onto the railway while I looked at the view in front of me. The blue sky which felt so wide yet so empty and the waves of the sea rocking by the shoreline. It felt peaceful.

"Thank you for making this a memorable life, partner."

I said as I hear the train approaching closer and closer. I stay there in the tracks without a single care in the world.

Notes:

TW: Suicide, blood

I do not promote suicide. This is a work of fiction and should not be attempted in real life.

ANYWAYS I was supposed to write a Tsukasa bday fic, but my PC shut down suddenly and my progress was lost so I decided to scrap that idea and proceed to another idea I had.

This is also my first time writing in majority first person and my first fanfic where there are only two characters (the others mentioned)

Hope you read the tags properly :) Rated T for suicide themes and death.

ALSO PRETEND THERE'S A TRAIN TRACK NEAR THE SEA LIKE THE ONE IN ORII STATION BECAUSE YES

also listen to this to add the sad feeling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q15QvYtsEg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7VktWxu6Wk&list=RD-Q15QvYtsEg&index=7

Work Text:

Toya Aoyagi, student of Kamikou High, member of Vivid BAD Squad.

A child who grew up in the world of classical music unlike everyone else, surrounded by the wishes of his father, who doesn't care about his own dreams.

A child who was forced to do everything against his will.

Then, he was given advice from the person he considered his "savior", Tenma Tsukasa.

A star that he looked up to, the one that helped him break free.

Rebelled against his father's wishes to follow in his footsteps of becoming a classical musician.

But one thing remains the same.

He will never be alike others.

Kamikou High, 9AM

I walk in the hallways, feeling a bit...strange. It might just be the feeling in my chest. I can't help but smile slightly at the thought that this day will be the day I will face my feelings. Just the thought of it made me feel like I'm spiraling...

"Toya, you just passed your classroom."

A voice caught my attention. I turn back and see Akito, looking at me with those beautiful green eyes I could get lost into.

"Oh, sorry. I must have zoned out for a while."

I respond, unable to explain why I accidentally passed by my classroom and with the fact that I don't want to worry Akito.

"Yeah, alright. I'll see you later?"

Akito turned to me with a smile on his face. I'll admit, it made me smile as well.

"Sure, I'll see you- wait..."

I say before I realize: I haven't given him the note I wrote.

"Here. If you're available today, that is."

I smile, looking at him.

"Alright, I'll open it later."

He said as he waved goodbye and head to class, which reminds me that I should as well. I hurriedly ran back into my classroom and started to read on our upcoming lesson.

3rd Person POV

Akito looked back at Toya as he went in the classroom. He then looked at the note and noticed it was a bit crumpled, possibly from putting it in his pocket.

Oh well, he'll read it later due to the fact that he needs to get to class before An scolds him for loitering around the campus.

He then went to sit down on the chair and took the note out from his pocket. The teacher hasn't arrived yet, so maybe he could see what Toya wanted to write to him to kill some time.

Knowing Toya, it could be a note where the contents take up the entire space, so that'll be fun to read.

He didn't expect the note to just be a short message.

"Meet me by the train tracks near the beach - Toya."

Akito turned the note back and forth to see if there was anything else written but to his surprise, there wasn't anything else on the paper. He sighed and waited for time to pass.

Toya's POV

It's strange. Everything seems to be peaceful now. Is it just me...?

The time passes by, it's slow.

I wonder, is this still going to be the same as ever?

Kamikou High - 4PM

Toya's POV

As class ended, I quickly ran out and went to the train tracks, taking only my phone with me. I left my school bag in the lockers.

I don't think I'll need it anyways.

I ran out of school and towards the train station. I hope Akito will come as well... maybe that'll change my mind on what I was planning to do. I wonder if he'll be able to stop me from doing what I was planning to do.

A moment doesn't pass by without me thinking of Akito.

I look at the keychain that I bought. It's an orange music note with pancakes as a side charm. I smile as I stare at it, this keychain was what I bought with Akito on our first time hanging out with each other.

Flashback

"Akito, do you want to have matching keychains? It's alright if you don't, I just wanted to suggest that in case we're unable to see each other, we can have at least something that will remind us of the other."

Toya suggested as him and Akito walk around together at the mall.

"Sure, I don't mind."

Akito responded as he accompanied Toya. They ended up buying two keychains, an orange and a blue music note, accompanied with a pancake and a coffee charm.

This was the start of their friendship. Their first ever bonding as BAD DOGS was to be remembered for eternity.

Toya's POV

I smiled as I was walking on my way to the train tracks. This was going to be the most memorable time with Akito.

And probably my last.

I stare at the view while waiting. How mesmerizing... I sigh as I look at the time. A bit late, did he not come?

Oh well, I can still do as I want here while I wait.

I walk around the tracks as I wait, what a peaceful time alone. If only Akito was here, it'd be much better.

Akito's POV

I made my way out of school. Nothing special there.

I check my phone. It's already 5pm?!

It's like I'm forgetting something... what was it though? Was it any homework? No, couldn't care less about that. Practice? Kohane and An are on a date, no practice. Anything to do with Ena? Why would I care about her business either way?

"Sigh. I can't remember but I know I was supposed to do something."

That's when it hit me. No, not the idea. I accidentally hit a tree.

"AH SHIT-"

Who put that tree there?! Oh well...

That's when I remembered...Toya! Right... he wanted me to go to the train tracks. How could I have forgotten?!

I quickly turn around and head towards the train tracks. I may have bumped into some to people but who cares?! Toya might have gotten mad already that I forgot...!

Toya's POV

In the distance, I saw a familiar figure running towards me. Ah, it's Akito.

"You made it."

I say, approaching Akito with a smile.

"Of course, I did! Why'd you tell me to go here? It was a tiring walk..."

He asked, still with a joyous tone. It made me blush a bit but still, I felt dread, not because of him though.

"It's been a while since we hung out like this. I just wanted to explore this place a bit more"

I looked up at the sky, admiring the view. When I look back to Akito and noticed he wasn't paying attention.

"And maybe this is the last."

I said all of a sudden, quietly. I hope he didn't hear me.

"It sure has been a while- what do you mean 'last'?"

Akito suddenly turned to me. He heard that...?!

"Don't worry about it."

I quickly reply in hopes that he won't question me. After all, this is the day where I can finally be at peace.

I then walk on the train tracks, not caring about anything else.

Akito's POV

What did he mean by last...? It can't be...The train tracks. It all added up.

"Toya, you don't mean..."

I said in a tone that made him know that I knew what he meant. I then looked at him, worriedly.

He looked away, avoiding eye contact. That meant... it was exactly what I feared.

"Toya. Tell me. I need to know! Why... why are you doing this?! What the hell are you going to do, Toya?!"

Toya's POV

"What the hell are you going to do, Toya?!"

He called out to me in a worried tone as I walked onto the railway while I looked at the view in front of me. The blue sky which felt so wide yet so empty and the waves of the sea rocking by the shoreline. It felt peaceful.

"Thank you for making this a memorable life, partner."

I said as I hear the train approaching closer and closer. I stay there in the tracks without a single care in the world.

He rushed to the train tracks, knowing that the train was going to pass any moment now.

"Why... why did you follow me?! We're both going to die!"

I scream, unable to contain my emotions any further.

"Toya. I can't live without you. You're my other half... you were the one who supported me with our goal to defeat RAD WEEKEND. Without you... my dream no longer has value. Don't you understand?! You're my new dream, you're my everything! I love you, Toya. I can't imagine a world without you!"

He cried out, all the emotions flowing from his words. The last two sentences were marked in my mind. He...loves me..?

"If you're going to kill yourself here, I shall die alongside you."

He then pulled me into an embrace and kissed me. A tear trailed down my face as he did.

"Let's meet in the next life, partner."

He whispered in my ear as the train hit us.

No one's POV

The two of them lie still on the ground, bleeding. Toya was lifeless while Akito was at the brink of death. A kito was still holding onto Toya as he lay there motionless.

With the last bit of his strength, he held onto Toya and hugged him.

"We will meet again, partner."

Notes:

IT'S FINALLY DONE WAHHHHH

I hope this made you cry (I'll pay for your therapy guys don't worry) but I am NOT sorry haha L /hj

Instead of killing Saki for Tsukasa angst, let's kill Toya for Akito angst /j (But yeah #justiceforsaki she doesn't deserve being killed for angst)
I'm still a bit new to writing so feel free to put tips in the comments for me so I can improve. (●'◡'●)
