Work Text:

Takemichi had been eagerly looking forward to surprising his boyfriend, Hanma, with a homemade cake. It was their anniversary, and he wanted to do something special to show his love and appreciation. He had never baked a cake before, but he was determined to make it perfect.

Excitement filled the air as Takemichi gathered all the ingredients and utensils in the kitchen. He carefully followed the recipe, double-checking each step, determined not to make any mistakes. As he measured the flour, sugar, and other ingredients, his hands trembled with a mix of nerves and anticipation.

However, as the process unfolded, everything seemed to go wrong. Takemichi misread the recipe and added too much salt, causing the batter to taste awful. He realized he had forgotten to preheat the oven, which further delayed the baking process. The cake ended up sticking to the pan, and when he tried to remove it, it crumbled into a mess.

Frustration and disappointment consumed Takemichi. Tears welled up in his eyes as he fought to salvage the ruined cake. He tried to reshape the crumbs, but they only crumbled further. With each attempt, the cake seemed to mock him, reminding him of his failure.

In the midst of his overwhelming emotions, Takemichi's chest tightened, and his breathing became rapid. Panic gripped him, and he felt as if the world was closing in. His heart pounded in his ears, drowning out all other sounds. The kitchen, once filled with excitement, now seemed suffocating.

Takemichi's mind spiraled into a state of panic and despair. He couldn't control his thoughts or the racing beat of his heart. He felt utterly alone, abandoned by his own abilities. As the panic attack intensified, he couldn't find a way to escape its suffocating grip.

As the waves of panic crashed over him, Takemichi's body finally gave in to exhaustion. He collapsed onto the kitchen floor, the chaos around him reflecting the turmoil within. Darkness enveloped him as he slipped into unconsciousness.

Hours later, the sound of the front door opening broke the silence. Hanma stepped into the apartment, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of his anniversary surprise for Takemichi. However, the sight that greeted him was far from what he had expected.

His eyes widened as he took in the disarrayed kitchen and the broken, half-formed cake on the counter. Panic surged through him, his heart racing as he called out Takemichi's name. The lack of response only deepened his concern.

Rushing through the apartment, Hanma found Takemichi lying unconscious on the kitchen floor. Fear gripped his heart as he knelt down beside his boyfriend, gently shaking him, pleading for him to wake up. Seeing the rise and fall of Takemichi's chest brought a small sense of relief, but the sight of him in such a vulnerable state shook Hanma to the core.

Hanma swiftly reached for his phone, dialing emergency services for help. While waiting for the paramedics to arrive, he cradled Takemichi in his arms, whispering words of comfort and reassurance. Hanma knew how much Takemichi had been struggling lately, and this incident only emphasized the depth of his pain.

As the paramedics arrived and attended to Takemichi, Hanma felt a mix of emotions flood over him—concern, love, and a profound sense of responsibility. He vowed to be there for Takemichi, to support him through the darkest moments and help him find a way to heal.

In the days that followed, as Takemichi slowly regained consciousness and received professional help, Hanma stayed by his side. Together, they faced the aftermath of that fateful day in the kitchen. Hanma never blamed Takemichi for the mess or the panic attack; instead, he focused on their love and the journey towards healing.
