Work Text:
Takemichi sat on the couch, nervously fidgeting with the edge of his shirt. His heart raced as he glanced at the clock, waiting for Mitsuya to come home from work. They had been dating for a few months now, and although their relationship had progressed both emotionally and physically, there was still something Takemichi longed for—a simple, sweet kiss from his boyfriend.
However, every time Takemichi mustered the courage to ask for a kiss, his embarrassment would consume him. He feared that if he revealed his desire, Mitsuya might find it strange or think less of him. So, he kept his yearning a secret, hoping that one day, he would find the courage to make it happen.
Today was different, though. As Takemichi anxiously anticipated Mitsuya's arrival, he made up his mind to take a leap of faith. He wanted to surprise Mitsuya with a kiss as soon as he walked through the door. It was a bold move, one that would expose his vulnerability, but Takemichi knew it was the only way he could express his longing.
Finally, the sound of keys jingling outside the front door broke the silence, signaling Mitsuya's return. Takemichi's heart pounded louder with each step Mitsuya took toward the entrance. The moment the door swung open, revealing his boyfriend, Takemichi's nervousness intensified, but he refused to back down.
With a surge of determination, Takemichi rose from the couch and, before he could overthink it, closed the distance between them. He placed a trembling hand on Mitsuya's cheek, his eyes filled with affection and a hint of trepidation. And then, without any further delay, he leaned in and pressed his lips gently against Mitsuya's.
Time seemed to stand still for Takemichi in that brief, beautiful moment. The taste of Mitsuya's lips filled his senses, and he felt an indescribable surge of warmth and contentment. However, as quickly as the kiss had happened, Takemichi's embarrassment caught up with him, and he suddenly pulled away.
His face flushed bright red, Takemichi couldn't bring himself to meet Mitsuya's gaze. Overwhelmed by his own audacity, he turned and sprinted towards the bedroom, seeking solace in his sanctuary. He shut the door behind him, his heart pounding like a drum in his chest.
Inside the bedroom, Takemichi leaned against the door, his breathing ragged. He could hear Mitsuya's footsteps growing closer, and panic began to consume him. He didn't want Mitsuya to think he was weird or clingy. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he buried his face in his hands.
Just when Takemichi thought his embarrassment couldn't get any worse, he heard a soft knock on the bedroom door. His heart skipped a beat. He didn't respond, hoping that Mitsuya would leave him alone to wallow in his own shame.
But Mitsuya wasn't so easily deterred. The knock grew louder, followed by Mitsuya's voice, filled with both concern and amusement. "Come on, Takemichi," he teased. "You can't hide forever. Open the door."
Takemichi's cheeks burned even hotter, but he slowly stood up and reached for the doorknob. He took a deep breath and turned it, revealing Mitsuya's face, grinning mischievously.
Mitsuya's eyes softened as he took in Takemichi's flushed face and tear-streaked cheeks. "Hey," he said gently, stepping into the room. "What's wrong? Why did you run away?"
Takemichi hesitated for a moment before finally finding his voice. "I... I was just so embarrassed," he mumbled, avoiding eye contact.
Mitsuya chuckled softly and closed the door behind him. He walked closer to Takemichi, closing the remaining distance between them. "You know, I've been feeling a little needy today," he said, his tone teasing and playful.
Takemichi's eyes widened in surprise, his embarrassment momentarily forgotten. He glanced up at Mitsuya, who was now standing inches away from him, a twinkle in his eyes. A mix of relief and curiosity flooded Takemichi's heart.
Mitsuya gently cupped Takemichi's face, his thumb caressing his cheek. "It's okay to want things, you know," he said softly. "And I want to give you all the kisses you desire. So, don't run away from me. Open the door to your heart, and let me in."
Takemichi's breath caught in his throat. He realized in that moment that he didn't have to hide his desires or be embarrassed about them. Mitsuya accepted him completely, even in his most vulnerable moments.
With a newfound sense of bravery, Takemichi nodded and slowly leaned in, closing the distance between their lips once again. This time, there was no rush or panic. It was a tender and heartfelt kiss, filled with a deep connection that left both of them breathless.
As they broke apart, Takemichi couldn't help but smile. He had taken a risk, exposing his longing to Mitsuya, and it had brought them closer together. From that day forward, Takemichi learned that vulnerability wasn't something to be ashamed of, but rather a strength that forged deeper connections and brought immense joy to their relationship.
