Angel Dust's life was a mess. He knew it as a demon, and never expected to change that as a demon. He continued in death as he was in life. What is the point of change anyway if you are only good at that one thing anyway?
Alastor also had not improved his way from life in death either, although he had the upper hand as a powerful overlord. Able to change the course of others actions to make his life far more entertaining. So when Angels messy life becomes far less entertaining than before, why not meddle in order to increase the fun? Especially when feelings have a nasty way of creeping in to the battlefield. All roses have their thorns, and rules were always made to be broken.
