    Summary

She looked beautiful. Beautiful in the way her heart was in her throat at the very sight of her. Made every ocean at sunset, the stars in the night sky, everything that Sana had ever found beautiful pale in comparison. As if the world itself had carved itself as her own personal backdrop, the canopy above them allowing for the perfect touch of sunlight against her face. Caressed her cheeks, her neck, left her glowing like an angel. Expected wings and a halo, or something that would at least categorise the woman as anything but human.

    Couldn’t move. Couldn’t think.
Watched as she glanced around, eyes like honey resting on Sana for just a moment before doubling back to her. As if she hadn’t noticed her at first.

Or maybe she had and she just couldn’t believe the sight in front of her too.

    --

Fauna’s footsteps echoed in her own thoughts. Anger riled in her heart for just a moment before she made an effort to cool herself off. Shielded it away behind cool uncaring, as if it hadn’t affected her to the bone.
The Ancient Ones were cruel. She knew this.

She just never expected them to be this cruel.
