"I swear to you, the Namjoon from college never thought this would happen" Namjoon told him before Yoongi sighed and checked Namjoon's suit, noticing that the tie was a bit askew. "Thanks, that would have been embarrassing" the younger said as Yoongi helped him with the tie.
Yoongi shrugged.
"The photographer probably has a few photos of us by now, so at least we have some photographs to proof that you don't know how to wear a tie" the older said as he focused on the entrance of the canopy. "So, you never thought this would get this far?"
Namjoon smiled and shrugged.
"Like, I hoped that this would happen, but never considered it would actually happen" the younger explained.
"Yeah, I think I felt the same back then, but as the time passed, I knew we would end up here."
"Are you nervous?" Namjoon asked placing a hand over his shoulder.
"How you cannot be nervous?" Yoongi asked without taking his eyes from the entrance.
"Well, I'm not nervous because I know that Jinnie wrote every detail in that wedding planning binder" Namjoon explained while chucking. "I told him that he should consider changing his career and become a wedding planner..."
"I can see that, he even chose my suit..." the older said as he remembered the time when Seokjin had dragged him to a suit fitting appointment because he didn't trust Yoongi to have a nice enough suit. He hadn't been wrong, which was the reason he was there, in front of the altar, using the red suit jacket that he had sworn to Seokjin that he wasn't going to wear.
"Well he..." Namjoon started to say before the music started, making him go silent and tense.
Yoongi smirked and positioned himself next to his friend, not moving his gaze from the entrance.
And then his world froze.
Taehyung was walking next to Seokjin down the aisle.
The younger omega looked like a dream come true. His hair was a fiery red that he had never seen before in him, that matched perfectly his suit. A voice at the back of his mind told him that Seokjin had planned that, either had planned Yoongi using the red suit jacket because of Taehyung's suit, or he had suggested Taehyung to buy a red suit and dye his hair. Or maybe the both of them were victims of Seokjin's fashion sense.
A few seconds later Taehyung and Seokjin were in front of the altar, in front of everyone in the venue.
"Good luck, hyung" Taehyung whispered loud enough for everyone to hear, before stepping aside and going to his place in the front row at the left side of the aisle.
"Good luck, Joonie" Yoongi said, patting Namjoon's shoulder and getting to his seat, sitting in the front row at the right side of the aisle.
"We are here..." the judge started, but Yoongi paid him no mind, as he found himself looking to Kim Taehyung, who was enraptured in the mating ceremony of their friends.
His ex boyfriend looked gorgeous.
♥
Jimin was gently wiping his tears.
"I can't believe I got to see this day!" the teacher said as he accepted another tissue from Jungkook.
"Really? When I met them, I thought that they were already mated" Hoseok said as he hugged Jimin.
"Yeah, me too, when Joonie was my TA I thought that Jin-hyung was his mate" the youngest said as he petted Jimin's hair.
"Just let me be emotional you assholes" the older omega whined before blowing his nose again.
Taehyung chuckled seen his best friend whining to his boyfriends.
"I'm glad to see you doing well" said the redhead as he let a fond smile take place in his face, remembering that the year before, when he had left Seoul, they were still trying to figure out their relationship.
"And I'm glad to finally see you! A year without you is too long!" Jimin said while shrugging off his boyfriends and taking two steps to hug Taehyung.
Taehyung smiled and circled his arms around his best friend’s waist.
"Yeah, sorry about that, I promise I won't stay away that long again" the redhead said deciding not to say anything about the job interview that he was going to have in a week. It was better like that, that way if they didn't get the job, he wouldn't get Jimin's hopes up for nothing.
"You look so good, I almost didn't recognize you when you walked Jin-hyung thru the aisle" Hoseok said as he took one lock of his hair and rolled it between his fingers. "I never saw you with red hair."
Taehyung chuckled.
"You have seen me with blue hair, purple hair, mint hair, even that half pink half blond..."
"Don't forget about the orange hair!" Jungkook added, making Taehyung groan.
"Please let me forget that I looked horrible" he said as he run a hand thru his hair.
"Never" his friends said at the same time.
Taehyung shivered, he forgot that sometimes they were so in sync that they have him chills.
He was going to make Jimin remember that the orange hair dye had been his idea at first because he wanted to see how it looked once it was applied before committing to a full orange hair look, but the words got lost when he saw Yoongi getting to the canapé's table.
He looked gorgeous with his black shirt and trousers with that beautiful red jacket.
"He got back to black" he muttered without thinking.
"Huh?" Jimin asked following his gaze, before smiling.
"Ah, he was blond the last time I saw him" he explained, deciding that he didn't need to clarify who he was referring too.
Jimin nodded.
"He came back with some horrible roots because he didn't felt like bleaching it again, and Seokjin forced him to dye and cut his hair" he explained.
Taehyung nodded, trying to not think too much about it.
♥
Yoongi watched Taehyung from afar. More specifically, from the canapé's table.
"You know, if you keep staring like that, he will end up feeling it" Seokjin said before taking two canapés. "Damn, these are good."
"Don't act as if you didn't made them yesterday, hyung" Yoongi deadpanned before adverting his gaze from Taehyung and picking something that looked like a tiny pastry basket from the table.
"Still, they are good" the older said before picking another, this time a little pastry basket identical to Yoongi's. "This has mushrooms and spinach, it's one of my favorite savory canapés. So, do you like the view from here?"
Yoongi scoffed and placed the whole pastry in his mouth.
It was delicious indeed.
"It weird to see him again after so long" Yoongi said, fixing his gaze in Taehyung.
"You make it sound as if he left for a decade, he just left Seoul a year ago" the older said, picking another canapé.
"And I left a year before, therefore I haven't seen him in two years, that's a lot of time" he said, admitting how the suit fitted him perfectly. "You made me pick the red jacket on purpose, right? You knew he was going to come here like a red dry eraser marker."
Seokjin snorted at the comparison.
"Actually no, I haven't seen him in a month, and when I saw him he was brunet" Seokjin told him. "He's always being so dramatic when he has to suit up..."
"I like it, he looks great" Yoongi declared, glaring daggers to his best friend.
Seokjin smirked.
"I didn't say that he didn't looked great, I just said that his look was dramatic" the older said before popping another pastry to his mouth. "But I'm glad to see that you still standing up for him."
Yoongi sighed and took another pastry from the table, while he continued to admire his ex boyfriend from afar.
"You didn't tell me he was going to come here" he said.
Seokjin shrugged.
"I didn't know I needed to tell you who got invited and who didn't."
Yoongi hummed and nodded.
"This taste great" the younger said, pointing to the canapés.
"As always" the omega said, flashing him a smile and walking towards the direction Taehyung was.
And that was his cue to leave the canapés table.
♥
Taehyung smiled as he saw Yoongi taking the microphone.
"So let me tell you that I was really surprised when Seokjin and Namjoon came to me and asked me to be their best man, like not one of their best men, but like the best man for both of them" the older started as he started fidgeting with the microphone. "But still, I felt so honored, to be the best man for the best people have known" Yoongi then took a deep breath and continued with a wobbly smile. "And in a way I'm shocked, I feel like it was yesterday when Namjoon cornered me after my Music Theory class and asked me if I could help him asking Seokjin out. And for context, we didn't know each other, to me, Namjoon was a freshman guy that took some advanced classes, and to him I was his crush's best friend..."
"Hyung!" Namjoon exclaimed, his face as red as Yoongi's jacket.
Everyone laughed at it, and Taehyung had to force a laugh from his throat. He wondered how Seokjin and Namjoon had seen him. Do they thought about him as the weird guy that had rejected a mating proposition that had befriended their friend? He decided to not think too much about it, it was obvious that he meant more than that to his friends, if not, he wouldn't have walked Seokjin to the aisle.
"Whatever..." Yoongi muttered before smiling, and Taehyung recognized that voice, that was the voice Yoongi used when he was trying to remain calm. One quick look to his ex boyfriend's face and he confirmed it, the older was about to cry. "What I was trying to say is that, even if we're now here, at your mating ceremony, I can't help to remember those days Namjoon tried to grow a pair and Seokjin enjoyed watching him struggle."
"Hyung! I swear to God...!" Namjoon exclaimed before getting shushed by his mate.
"Oh! Let him talk! I wanna hear this part!" Seokjin exclaimed before pecking his mate's cheek.
"You know what's he gonna say?" Namjoon asked, obviously betrayed.
"Oh please, I supervised everything! Obviously, I read Yoongi's speech, I even made some corrections" the older omega said before giving Yoongi a pointed look. "Which, by the way, you aren't following..."
"I won't wax poetic about your looks, hyung" the best man said, causing everyone to laugh. "Everyone with two functioning eyes can see you are handsome, now, can I please continue with my speech?"
Seokjin beamed and nodded, obviously satisfied by the compliment.
"Sure, but wrap it up, I wanna eat, I'm starving" the older said before taking his mate's hand.
"I'm trying" Yoongi said before sighing. "So yeah, they have come a long way, but at the same time, it doesn't seem that long, and I hope that stays like that. That no matter how much time passes, you always make us think that it was just yesterday when you started dating, because that way you'll still be loving each other even more than the day before."
Then, Yoongi placed the microphone in the table and raised his cup, being mimicked by the other guests.
"You're supposed to say 'A toast for the grooms!' " Seokjin whined before raising his glass and taking a sip. "A toast for Joonie and me!" the oldest said while pulling down his shirt's collar to show his new mating bite.
Taehyung laughed and clapped his friends antics, before redirecting his gaze to his ex boyfriend, asking himself if they could have had that. A love that grew every day. He felt a pang in his heart and decided that yes, if they hadn't fucked up everything, he would have loved Yoongi even more than the day before.
Suddenly his mind got blank as for the first time in the whole night Yoongi looked at him.
Taehyung tried to smile, but he felt that it came of too forced, still, the older gave him one of those gummy smiles that made his heart skip a beat.
♥
Yoongi didn't want to dance, but a drunk Hoseok and a not so drunk Jungkook had dragged him to the dance floor, so now he was sandwiched between his friends, trying to follow the rhythm of the song he knew by heart. After all, it was one of the songs he and Namjoon had produced about a year before.
"Come on, hyung! Drop your hips a little!" Hoseok ordered before placing his hands on Yoongi's hips and forcing him to bend his knees a little more. "Just like that! Now up!" the choreographer said bringing his hips up. "Now down!"
"Stop! I don't wanna dance!" Yoongi whined, but entertained his friends, following Hoseok's instructions, but not making an effort to look natural.
"Come on, Yoongi-hyung! You know how to dance! You used to dance a lot when you dated Tae!" Hoseok said before placing his hands in his waist and started going down with him, rolling his hips, making Yoongi roll his too.
The eldest tensed when his friend mentioned his ex boyfriend, but didn't said anything, in front of him, Jungkook's eyes bulged, clearly shocked by his boyfriend's comment.
"Don't worry, he's kinda right" Yoongi muttered, receiving a nod from the youngest and continued dancing while risking a glance to where he knew Taehyung was chatting with Jimin, noticing that while his ex boyfriend wasn't watching them, Jimin was, and the glint in his eyes made him shiver.
Because that glint only meant problems.
When he saw that Jimin was getting up he decided to focus in not grinding into Hoseok's crotch.
Five seconds later Jimin's arms were draped over Jungkook's shoulders.
"Hi sweety, wanna dance?" Jimin asked in a sultry voice. Jungkook's dopey smile was the last thing he saw before feeling Jungkook's hands leaving his own shoulders. "Don't you wanna dance with me too, Hobi?"
Suddenly, Hoseok's crotch wasn't something that Yoongi needed to be concerned for.
"Finally decided to dance with us, hun?" Hoseok slurred before walking to his boyfriends and sandwiching Jimin, making Yoongi notice that Hoseok had left a lot of space to Yoongi to not grind into his crotch, if the way Hoseok, Jimin and Jungkook's bodies seemed to fuse at that moment.
"I was catching up with my soulmate, don't be sore about that" the omega said before turning around and starting to grind against Jungkook. "Why don't you dance with Yoongi, Tae? You said you wanted to dance..."
Yoongi turned towards where Jimin was looking, seen, as expected, Taehyung in all his red beauty.
"Ah I... actually didn't wanted to dance?" Taehyung said while scratching his temple. "I'm kind of tired and... I think I need some fresh air actually..." the redhead said before taking to steps backwards and turning to leave the dancefloor.
Jimin huffed.
"Coward" the omega muttered before fixing his gaze in Yoongi. "What are you waiting for? Go after him!" Jimin said while frowning, something kind of funny since he was still dancing sandwiched between his boyfriends.
Yoongi was going to say something about not going after Taehyung when he caught Jungkook's eyes, for some reason the younger looked back at him with fury.
"Hyung, he is here today, who knows when he will be back" the youngest declared, frowning like his boyfriend. "He misses you just as much as you miss him."
Yoongi thought about telling them to shut up and stop minding in his failed relationship with Taehyung, when he decided that they were right. Taehyung was there, for all what he knew, he could be planning leaving Seoul the next day, so even if their talk went completely wrong, he wouldn't see the teacher again, at least until Jimin, Jungkook and Hoseok's mating ceremony.
"Fuck it" he declared before walking to the nearest waiter. "Could you please give me two glasses of wine?"
♥
Taehyung sat in a bench near the water fountain and checked the hour in his phone, wondering if Seokjin would get mad if he left the wedding early when he noticed that it was only 9:47 pm. He could always tell him that he had a jo interview the Monday and he needed to relax the whole Sunday in order to be ready, but that would only give away the fact that he was planning to get back to Seoul, and he didn't want to reveal that to his friends, not yet at least. At least he wanted to secure the position before giving them the news.
He briefly wondered how everything would be if he and Yoongi where in the same city after breaking up. He wouldn't want that their friends tried to pick sides, they were a sort of huge family, the family that Taehyung never had, and he furiously had tried to create. So no, he wouldn't let his friend group start splitting up just because he and Yoongi weren't a couple now. He hoped, thou, that he didn't need to face Yoongi any time soon.
He just wasn't prepared to see his ex, even if he knew that he would see him that day.
"Mind if I join you?" suddenly pulled him out of his thoughts.
Taehyung raised his face and suddenly he was looking at Yoongi.
Yoongi who looked like a dream come true with his red jacket and black hair, offering him one glass of red wine.
"You grew out the blond?" Taehyung asked.
Yoongi clicked his tongue and offered him the wine again. Taehyung accepted it, even if he had no intentions of drinking it, he only liked those cheap fruity wines that Jungkook bought whenever he visited him.
"Well yeah, I didn't like the thought of bleaching it again" Yoongi replied, confirming Jimin's words from earlier. "When I got back my hair was so long, and my roots had grown so much that Seokjin took me to the hair salon before letting me get to our apartment."
Taehyung snorted at the mental image of Yoongi and his unkept hair.
"You used to whine so much whenever you had to go the hair saloon” the younger said, giving the older a side-eye glance.
Yoongi nodded.
"Yeah, it was a blessing that you knew how to bleach hair."
"I never understood why you dyed your hair if you hated going to the saloon."
Yoongi shrugged, making Taehyung think that he wasn't going to have an answer.
"I guess I just liked the aesthetic."
Taehyung hummed, thinking in the different hair colors that Yoongi had sported thru their years together.
Mint, pink, orange, burgundy and platinum blond.
They remained in silence, and just when Taehyung was thinking in giving back his glass of wine to Yoongi, the older spoke.
"I was so angry at Seokjin when he drove me to the saloon, because I was planning to go to your place and knock your door until you opened it." Taehyung whipped his head and fixed his eyes in Yoongi, whose gaze was focused on his half full wine glass. "Then he told me that you had left Seoul."
Taehyung wetted his lips.
"Really?"
Yoongi shrugged again.
"I had a full speech in my phone, I worked like six months in it" the older detailed, still looking into his glass.
"Do you still have it?" Taehyung asked, feeling a bit lightheaded.
Yoongi showed him his phone.
It was new.
"New phone."
Taehyung nodded before looking to his own glass and deciding that he needed a sip, so he took a little sip, contained a grimace since it was too dry for his liking and took a deep breath.
"I left Seoul because I thought that if I was still here when you came back you would isolate yourself from everyone... you would stop attending our movie nights, Seokjin's monthly dinner, Namjoon's monthly picnic at the Han River, to Hobi's rooftop parties..." Taehyung started explaining.
"So, you decided to isolate yourself?" the older asked, and Taehyung was a bit surprised to hear something terribly similar to rage in his voice.
The redhead risked a side glance to his ex boyfriend and blinked.
"I didn't isolate myself, everyone visited me there..."
"You missed all the stuff you thought I would miss if you stayed here" now Taehyung was sure that Yoongi's voice was tinted in rage. Taehyung bit his tongue, he knew that the elder was right, but still, he knew that it was the best scenario for them. "You assumed that I would become an hermit, and became an hermit yourself?"
"I..."
"You thought I wouldn't be mature enough to see you with our friends?"
"Yoo..."
"You had such low expectations from me?"
"No!" Taehyung was finally able to say, even if he had ended kind of yelling it. "I just wanted the best for you! Do you think it didn't hurt leaving them behind? I wasn't just heartbroken because our breakup! I was so lonely! But I still did it and you know why? Because when you left, you were heartbroken and lonely too! So, I decided to give you a chance to be with them without having to see me!"
"Tae..."
"I knew I would be fine if I was alone sometime, but you had been already a year alone, so I decided to give you at least some time to be with them and heal some more."
Yoongi sighed and got up.
Taehyung sighed as he heard Yoongi's steps thru the stones of the path that went from the fountain to the wedding hall.
"I should get back to Daegu tomorrow..." he muttered to himself, thinking that he might need another year before getting back to Seoul.
The thought broke his heart, but it didn't hurt him as much as seen Yoongi there.
♥
When Yoongi entered the venue, he was intercepted by a very angry Jungkook.
"Really, hyung? You left him alone?" the younger said crossing his arms blocking his way to the tables. "He just said that he left because he cared for you, and you left him there?"
Yoongi rolled his eyes.
"You shouldn't eavesdrop someone else's conversation" he said while going around his friend and walking towards the tables.
"You coward" Jungkook said while walking behind him, Yoongi decided to ignore him and searched for a waiter, knowing that they would be near the table. When he spotted one, he continued walking to get to him. "Did you hear me?"
"Loud and clear, JK, now, can you please leave me so I can order more wine?"
Jungkook grunted something that sounded similar to 'stupid hyung' but left him.
"Hey, can you give me two bottles of wine?" Yoongi asked the waiter that he had seen before.
The waiter blinked and shook his head.
"Sorry we can't give full bottles to the guest."
Yoongi rolled his eyes.
"If I get the groom to ask you for two bottles, would you give me them?"
The waiter blinked and slowly nodded.
"I-I guess?"
"Perfect, wait here" Yoongi said before walking towards he heard Seokjin's whipper laugh, finally finding him at one corner of the dancefloor, dancing horribly with Namjoon and an omega girl that he didn't knew "Jin! I need your help!" he yelled, getting his friend's attention.
"What?" the oldest yelled back.
Yoongi clicked his tongue.
"Come here!"
The oldest nodded and left his mate and the girl dancing.
"What do you want, Yoongi?" Seokjin asked as he walked behind the alpha, who started walking to where the waited continued standing as soon as Seokjin left the dancefloor.
"He's the groom" Yoongi said pointing to his friend with his thumb. "He says that's OK if you give me two bottles of wine."
"What?" Seokjin asked behind him.
Yoongi turned to his friend and scowled.
"I'm trying to talk to Taehyung, but I can't do that if we are sober, so I need two bottles of wine, and this guy won't give them to me if I don't have your authorization" he explained while pointing to the waiter. "So please, give him the authorization so we can get drunk and talk."
The older nodded to the waiter.
"Give him one bottle of the cheap wine and one of the good wine" Seokjin ordered, getting a nod from the waiter before he left.
"You are cheap, one bottle of the cheap wine?" Yoongi asked while crossing his arms. "I know he doesn't drink but I thought he deserved some good wine."
Seokjin smirked.
"That's Taehyung's favorite wine, it's overly sweet and fruity, if he's gonna get drunk and get a hangover in order to you sort this whole mess up, he deserves to at least do it with something he actually likes to drink" the elder explained, surprising Yoongi.
As long as Yoongi had known the redhead, he had always hated the taste of alcohol, to know that he has at least some kind of favorite wine was something he didn't expected.
"So, he's growing up a bit" Yoongi chuckled remembering all the times he had tried to introduce Taehyung into drinking.
"It called heartbreak" Seokjin declared, making Yoongi freeze. "You broke up with him and took a plane, what did you expected? Jimin is his best friend..."
Yoongi sighed, he didn't need to try too hard to imagine Jimin's solution to Taehyung's heartbreak.
"Please tell me that he still has a functional liver."
Seokjin chuckled.
"Yeah, he wasn't into that much partying, so it ended up in a couple of hangovers and him acquiring a liking for cheap fruity wine."
When the waiter came back with the two bottles and two glasses Yoongi just took the bottles.
"Wish me luck" Yoongi said before walking to the fountain.
♥
Taehyung was checking the status of his Uber trip when he heard someone walking towards him.
"Mind if I join you again?" Yoongi's voice asked, making Taehyung lift his head, noticing that Yoongi was back, one bottle of wine in each hand.
"I just requested an Uber, it'll get here in a few minutes."
Yoongi clicked his tongue.
"Tae... we need to talk... please cancel it, I'll give you the cancellation fee..."
The omega bit his lip thinking in what he should do.
"I didn't even drink the glass you gave me earlier" he said pointing to his full almost full glass of wine, next to Yoongi's empty one.
Yoongi placed the two bottles next to him and stretched his arm to take Taehyung's glass, before drinking its contents in one gulp.
"Seokjin told me you like cheap wine" Yoongi said before giving him one of the bottles. "Good to know that now you at least drink some wine, we can work in your taste later..."
Taehyung snorted and took the offered bottle.
"We?"
Yoongi sat next to him and sighed.
"I hope this is not the last time I see you Tae" the older said looking up to the sky. "Daegu is not that far, you can come here to at least Seokjin's monthly dinner..."
Taehyung nodded before checking the bottle in his hand. It was pricier than the one Jungkook used to bring with him whenever he visited him, but it was the same kind of fruity wine he liked.
"Do you have a corkscrew?" the omega asked noticing that the bottle still had the cork.
"Shit" the older cursed, looking at his own bottle.
"I'll ask for one, wait here" Taehyung said before trying to stand up, stopping when he felt Yoongi's hand grabbing his wrist.
"Don't worry I know how to open them without a corkscrew."
The redhead raised a brow but nodded, sitting again.
The older smirked and got up from the bench, just to sit in the fountain's lip and took one of his shoes off.
"Watch and learn" Yoongi said before putting the bottle inside his shoe and start smacking the shoe against the fountain.
Taehyung snorted at the image before him.
"What in the world are you doing?" the younger muttered before walking to the fountain and taking off his shoe.
"Seokjin show me how to do this, it works."
Taehyung chuckled and put his wine bottle inside his shoe.
♥
"Finally!" Taehyung exclaimed when he got to pull the cork out of his bottle.
Yoongi nodded and took a swig from his bottle, enjoying the dry taste of the wine.
"Drink some, then we can talk."
"Why?"
"I need to have an honest talk with you... and I can't do that if we are sober."
Taehyung nodded and took a swig of wine and wiped the excess with the back of his hand.
He never looked more beautiful that in that moment.
"Done."
Yoongi nodded and took out his phone, before thinking better about it and letting it in his pocket.
"So..." he started, before getting silent.
He didn't know where he could start.
"So?"
Yoongi took a deep breath and looked to the sky.
The night was fairly clear, so he could appreciate a couple of stars in the night sky.
They didn't give him any answer, so he closed his eyes and cleared his throat.
"I'm still in love with you" he declared, before taking another swig of his bottle. "Always, these two whole years I have been in love with you."
Taehyung sighed, and Yoongi felt his blood run cold.
"Yoo..."
"Let me finish" Yoongi asked, not daring to face his ex boyfriend and bringing the bottle to his lips again.
"OK..."
"So, I know I messed up everything, I... I was so stressed and afraid of everything that tried to dump everything on you. I didn't want to decide, and was also afraid of making that decision, because at the end it meant that I needed to let go something important to me..." Yoongi said, finally saying aloud what had happened. "I dumped the responsibility of it to you, and when you chose what was the best for me, I got angry because I was so afraid of leaving everything behind, of leaving you behind... Because in some part of my mind I was so afraid that you would leave me when I wasn't around to remind you that you loved me..."
"You..."
"Let... Let me finish this, Tae... I need it..."
Taehyung nodded and took a swig of his bottle.
"Go on..."
"So yeah, I was an asshole" Yoongi said and took a long sip of his wine. "And even if I knew that you were thinking in what was better for me, the thought of you trying to get rid of me was so terrifying that I said a bunch of things that I never meant."
"You were an asshole."
Yoongi snorted and drank some more wine.
"Tae..."
"Sorry, go on."
"The night of our breakup was the worst one of my life, because all I wanted was to go to your place and apologize to you, but I couldn't I was so angry, at you... at myself for destroying the best thing that had happened to me" he confessed before taking a chance and looking to his ex boyfriend, who was looking to the sky, looking more beautiful than ever. "And the next day... I thought about going to your place and apologize, staying and not leaving to LA... but I couldn't... because I knew I needed to get to that plane, I needed to grow before trying to get back to you. So, I did my best to mature there, everything was so different and difficult, and I wanted to give up, but I wanted to grow, I needed to grow, so when I came back I could see you again and show you that you were right, that I could do that and... and..."
He didn't notice when the first tears began to fall, but he did notice that Taehyung's image had gotten blurry.
"Do you realize that we are sober" the omega's velvety voice said.
"And that's why we’re crying."
They remained in silence for a few minutes, until the red haired boy spoke again.
"I always knew that you were going to make it over there, you are so talented, I bet everyone told you that over there" Taehyung said without taking off his eyes from the sky. "When I told you to go to LA I was so afraid that you would leave me behind... And you were so mad... I didn't know where do we stood, so when I finished the university... I ran away... I wanted to see you, but the thought of seen you and you not loving me anymore was so terrifying that I left the city..."
"I'm in therapy" Yoongi decided to confess. "Like I have a session once a week, sometimes every other week, sometimes once a month... depending how I'm doing. I'm trying to be better."
Taehyung nodded.
"I'm glad for you, do they help?"
Yoongi nodded.
"Yeah, you were right, again" the older said, remembering all the times the younger had suggested him to go to therapy. "I still don't talk to my parents, but now I don't feel guilty about it... I'm not sure I'll be able to see them again."
"You know you don't have too, right?"
Yoongi smirked.
"Yeah, I know."
Taehyung sighed.
"I'm happy you are taking care of yourself" Taehyung said before taking his bottle to his lips. "I... I think that even without you breaking up with me because your internship in LA... we would have ended up breaking up."
Yoongi felt his heart shattering.
Deep in his heart he knew that.
"I... I think that too..." Yoongi agreed before taking a long swig of his bottle. "I... I was too much, and I was using you as my copying mechanism for everything. Had a bad day at work? I fucked you. My mother called me? I fucked you. I was stressed with work? I fucked you..."
"We did fuck a lot back then" Taehyung said, amuse clear in his voice.
"We did" Yoongi chuckled and took another sip. "But not only that, I dumped everything to you, you were more like my emotional dumpster that my boyfriend... And that wasn't fair for you... I'm sorry about that."
Taehyung nodded.
"Thanks, but it's not only your fault" the redhead said while playing with his almost full bottle. "I didn't put some boundaries, and you were vulnerable, and in some sort of way... I was so happy that you relayed on me that I never told you that it was getting to be too much for me to handle."
Yoongi chuckled and shook his head.
"You had a lot of stuff going on too..."
The younger shrugged.
"As I said, I think that even if that fight never happened, we would have ended breaking up."
And Yoongi couldn't help but crying a little more.
♥
"I still love you so much" Yoongi whispered so so low that Taehyung almost didn't catch it.
He was too focused in trying to contain his tears, trying to not sob in front of Yoongi.
Still, he heard it, and Taehyung felt his heart skip a beat.
Yoongi was doing better.
He was doing better.
Yes, he had been immature and had run off, but even before that conversation he was trying to get back to Seoul and getting his life together again.
Maybe he could let himself be completely honest with Yoongi.
He took a deep breath and placed his hand next to Yoongi's, before closing his eyes and placing it on top of Yoongi's hand.
"Me too, Yoongi."
The alpha's reaction was immediate, he turned his hand and grabbed Taehyung's with so much force that the redhead winced, making the older loose a bit his grip. Still the older got up and stood before Taehyung, just for a few seconds later dropping to his knees and taking Taehyung's hands between his.
"I'm not asking you to get back together as if anything happened" Yoongi muttered, looking at their hands. "But can we try again?"
Taehyung smiled, letting his tears to freely run down his cheeks.
"How about a coffee date? Like the ones we used to have back then" he suggested once he felt his voice wasn't going to break.
Yoongi lifted his head and nodded.
The older's eyes were puffy and red, his nose was runny, his face had a thin sheen of sweat and his cheeks were blotchy from the effort of opening his bottle and trying to not cry.
And still he was the most beautiful man he had ever seen.

Yoongi was so nervous that he ended up getting half an hour early to the coffee shop.
It was small and cozy, and usually it was really packed during the day, thus, he justified his early arrival telling himself that he had gotten there that early because he wanted to get a table for them.
He had been sitting for twenty minutes there when he decided that he needed to order another drink, so he got up and when to the counter.
"Could I have a large hot chocolate? Extra whipped cream, please" said the alpha to the girl behind the counter.
"Name?" the girl asked while writing the order on the tablet before her.
"Yoongi" he responded at the same time as the bell of the entrance ringed. "Yoongi" he repeated when he noticed that the girl hadn't caught his name.
The girl nodded and turned his tablet so he could confirm his order and tapped his phone over the tablet, paying for his drink. He turned to walk to his table, when he found himself face to face with Taehyung.
"Hyung, you're early" the younger said blinking, obviously surprised.
Yoongi checked his phone and smirked.
"You too, ten minutes early."
Taehyung smiled, wide and boxy, just the way Yoongi loved to see him smile.
"Yeah, I was kinda nervous, so I came early."
"Me too" Yoongi admitted, deciding to not disclose that he had been thirty minutes early.
"Pick a table, I'll order something to drink" the redhaired boy said before smiling and going to the counter.
Yoongi nodded and went to his previous table, which was still empty.
Just when Taehyung had finished paying, Yoongi heard his name being called by the barista. And just when he reached the counter, he heard Taehyung's name being called too.
"Hot chocolate, extra whipped cream" said the barista showing Yoongi's cup. "Americano, no sugar, no cream" she added showing another cup.
Yoongi's heart melted at the thought that Taehyung had ordered him another cup of coffee, even if he had saw him order his own beverage, probably remembering that he could drank five cups of coffee in a day. Taehyung took the black coffee cup and, to the raven's surprise, started walking towards the table Yoongi had picked.
"Aren't you going to wait for your chocolate?" Yoongi asked.
Taehyung chuckled and scratched his temple.
"Didn't you just bought me a hot chocolate?" the younger asked while smiling as they sat on the table.
Yoongi felt his cheeks warming up.
Obviously, Taehyung had thought that the hot chocolate was for him. For all the younger knew Yoongi despised sweet beverages, and he had bought Taehyung exact order.
"Ah yeah, so this is mine...?" Yoongi said before placing his cup over the table and pushing it towards Taehyung and trying to grab Taehyung's cup of coffee, just to blink, confused hen Taehyung swatted his hand from the coffee cup.
"Ah, this is mine actually..."
Yoongi cocked his head.
"You didn't order the americano for me?" the older asked, almost vibrating in his seat.
"You didn't order the hot chocolate for me?" the red head grinned.
Yoongi smiled while shaking his head.
"I missed you so much that I picked drinking hot chocolate" Yoongi explained, deciding not to tell Taehyung that he had started drinking it because it reminded him the taste of his lips whenever they kissed.
Taehyung's grin got even wider.
"I started drinking coffee because you always tasted like coffee when we kissed" the younger declared, not an ounce of shame in his face while he chuckled.
And Yoongi couldn't help but start laughing too.
"So, what are you been to?" Yoongi asked once their giggles died taking a sip of his hot chocolate.
"Well, tomorrow I'll have a job interview for a position as a music teacher in a school not too far from here" Taehyung declared.
"Really?" the alpha asked really surprised. "Did you arrange that..."
"I was planning to get back to Seoul for months" Taehyung declared. "I didn't say anything because I don't wanna jinx it, but yesterday I dreamed about getting the job, so I think I'll be safe telling you about it. Just... don't tell the others, not yet please."
Yoongi's heart skipped a beat.
"My lips are sealed" he said, taking another sip.
"Thanks" Taehyung said before taking a sip of coffee, which Yoongi watched closely, waiting to see a grimace because it wasn't sweet.
To his surprise there was no grimace.
"You have changed" Yoongi declared, smiling. "You used to hate the taste of black coffee. You couldn't drink it without making some disgusted face."
Taehyung chuckled.
"It was hard at first, but I got used to it, and now I like it" the omega confessed before smirking. "You too, you hated sweet things."
Yoongi shrugged.
"I still hate them, but I got used to this."
Taehyung nodded.
"Is that a bad thing or a good thing?" the younger asked, fidgeting with the sleeve of his sweater. "That we have changed..."
Yoongi tilted his head up and looked at the sealing, the hanging plant pots, and the cold lighting.
"Neither, we just have changed some part of us."
Taehyung hummed, getting Yoongi's attention back.
"I still can’t eat spicy food."
The older smiled.
"I still love spicy food."
Taehyung's hand found Yoongi's.
"So not everything has changed."
And Yoongi couldn't help but laugh at that.
