He’s halfway through it when he hears someone outside singing along, loudly but not awfully, and if he hadn’t been playing piano professionally for years now, his hands would have stumbled. As it were, he finishes the song, and then sits at his piano, staring blankly before him as the applause, once again, trickles in through his window.
