Do You Like Like Him?

Summary:

Klee has a secret Albedo told her that she isn’t allowed to tell anyone. She’s never been great with secrets though and it’s about Kaeya so why not just tell him? When Kaeya learns that Albedo has a crush on him, he has to decide if he confronts Albedo about it.

Or, Klee thinks Albedo and Kaeya should date even though she just learned the concept of dating.

Notes:

This is sorta ooc as Albedo and Kaeya are pretty soft for Klee in this. Kaeya is also emotionally vulnerable with them as is Albedo with him.

I didn’t read this over as I am lazy so hopefully it’s good. This is the longest fic I’ve written so far so hopefully it doesn’t drag on.

Work Text:

It was a sunny day in Mondstadt. Kaeya was watching Klee for Albedo as he was taking a day trip to Dragonspine.

Though Klee could sometimes be a handful, Kaeya genuinely enjoyed spending time with the girl.

She was a loving kid with the most contagious smile. The way she got easily excited and pure of heart made Kaeya want to protect her from all the terrible things in this world.

Kaeya was working at his desk while Klee drew on the short kids table he had bought just for when she visited so she had more space to do various crafts and have somewhere to throw little tea parties.

Though he would never admit it, he’d gone soft because of her. It was impossible to not be at least somewhat happy when she was around.

The table had definitely seen better days. All the paint spills and crayon markings made for a messy workspace. She didn’t seem to care though as there was always the tablecloth Kaeya bought for when she had tea parties.

He honestly spoiled her. He’d often buy things that reminded him of her. She had plenty of art supplies and toys just in his office. It was to the point where he had to get a chest just to store it all.

He even had a custom Dodoco themed tea set made for her which he got in Liyue. Albedo had told him numerous times he didn’t have to buy Klee things for his office but Kaeya did it anyway.

“Kaeya?” Klee said while coloring what looked like a picture of Dodoco.

Kaeya looked up from what he was working on to see the girl working hard on her drawing, tongue sticking out while she scribbled all over the page.

“Yes Klee?”

“Klee has a question for you.”

Klee rocked back and forth in her seat.

“Do you like Mr. Albedo?”

“Of course I do. The two of you are my friends. Why are you asking? Did he tell you anything that would say otherwise?”

“Well, Klee was thinking about some things Mr. Albedo told her about you a few days ago.”

“What did he tell you?”

“Um,” Klee looked up from her work to think back.

“Oh yeah! Albedo was telling Klee how he really likes you! Klee asked him when she’d be able to have a playdate with you because she and Docodo missed you.”

Though it was cute that Klee missed him, the way she stated the ‘really’ was filled with mischievousness. The wide smile and little giggle at the end made it obvious there was more to the story.

“What do you mean he really likes me?”

“Klee can’t tell you,” she said in a stage whisper, as if it were a secret even though they were the only two people in the room. “Albedo said to keep quiet on how much he likes you.”

Kaeya got up and walked over to the girl, bending down on one knee to meet eyes with her.

“Can you tell me what Albedo told you?”

The girl smiled, “Fine, but only because we’re best friends. Albedo told me he like likes you. Do you like like him?”

Kaeya’s eyes widened. ‘Does he really have feelings for me like I do for him?’ Kaeya thought to himself.

“What?” Kaeya said, completely shocked. “He really said he like liked me? Where did you even learn about that?”

“Albedo taught Klee what dating means and Klee thinks the two of you should date as you like like each other.”

“What makes you say that?” he said with a curious tone of voice.

“Klee is very smart!” the girl said with her hands on her hips all proud of herself. “You’re both boys and friends so why not be boyfriends?”

“It doesn’t work like that,” he exhaled, “Boyfriends and friends that are boys aren't the same. Friends that are boys aren’t dating.”

Klee’s arms went at her sides and her shoulders slumped.

“Mr. Albedo said that two boys dating means they are boyfriends. Don’t you want to be Albedo’s boyfriend?”

“I don’t know,” Kaeya sighed, “becoming boyfriends isn’t always as easy as making friends.”

“But why not?” Klee asked with a puzzled look on her face. “Can’t you just ask him to go from friends that are boys to boyfriends?”

“I don’t want to ruin anything between us.”

Why Kaeya was telling the girl all this he wasn’t sure. She was a blabber mouth so Albedo was bound to find out about this conversation at some point.

“Well, I guess I have no choice now. I can’t have you telling him how I feel.”

“But Klee is great at keeping secrets! Like the secret Albedo told her when she saw him drawing sketches of you and said it’s because he thinks you’re pretty.”

“He told you that?”

“He said not to tell you so don’t tattle.”

She gave as serious of a look she could muster in a weak attempt at showing she meant business.

“I’ll try not to but I can’t promise I won’t.”

The girl crossed her arms to show fake annoyance before giggling.

“That’s okay!” she smiled at him.

“Thank you for sharing. It was very helpful.”

Klee grinned, “Of course! That’s what friends are for!”

“Was there anything else you wanted to tell me?” Kaeya asked.

The girl nodded, “Does Kaeya want to date Albedo? Klee knows Albedo wants to date Keaya. Please say yes! Klee wants you to date Albedo so you can stay with us more. Albedo said dating means spending time together and Klee thinks you’re the best!”

Kaeya smiles to himself. Klee is always so adorable. Even when she gets crabby when she’s tired or gets in trouble for blowing things up.

“You know I don’t have to be Albedo’s boyfriend to want to spend time with the two of you. If you ever want to see me, just ask Albedo to take you to me.”

“Okay!” Klee paused, “When is Albedo coming back? Klee and Dodoco miss him and wants to throw a tea party so you can be boyfriends.”

Kaeya gave a toothless smile, “He’ll be here any minute now. How about we set up for the tea party so it’s all ready for when he arrives?”

Klee nodded excitedly, “Yay tea party! You set the table and Klee will get all dressed up fancy like! This is going to be the best!”

The man watched her run to the chest with all her things in it and take out a cute red dress which she insisted she wear whenever they had tea parties.

Keaya set the table and helped Klee zip up her dress before sitting on the floor at the table while the adorable girl was in a chair to the left of him. She had put a chair with a stuffed Dodoco on it to the left of her as well as it was required that Dodoco attend the tea party.

Kaeya was too big for the child sized chairs so he sat on the floor.

The two talked about fish blasting and for the billionth time and how mean Jean was until they heard footsteps and a knock at the door.

“Come in!” Klee loudly said, bouncing in her seat as she did so.

Albedo entered the office, looking worn out until he snapped out of it before Klee could notice.

“Well, what do we have here? You look absolutely beautiful, Klee.”

He set his things down and closed the door behind him, walking over and sitting on the floor at the spot between Kaeya and the stuffed Dodoco.

“Did you wait for me? That’s so sweet of you Klee.”

Like Kaeya, Albedo was also soft for Klee. How could one not be? She was like a sister to him after all.

Though emotions weren’t his strong suit, Klee was different. She made him truly happy and he loved her very much.

“Yay! Everyone is here now!” Klee said, full of joy.

“So,” Albedo looked at the girl, “Did you have fun with Kaeya?”

Klee gave a big toothy grin.

“Klee and Dodoco had so much fun! Kaeya is the best!”

Albedo gave a slight smile as his eyes drifted towards Kaeya who weirdly looked a little nervous for some odd reason.

“That’s good to hear. Were there any explosions while I was gone?”

“Nope! Klee and Dodoco were on our best behavior!”

Albedo looked back at the giddy girl.

“That’s great! I am very proud of you.”

He smiled before glancing over at Kaeya who seemed a little off for some reason.

“Is something wrong?” Albedo asked quietly so Klee couldn’t hear him.

“Nothing.”

“You sure?”

“Yes, everything’s fine.”

“Okay, if you say so. We can talk about it later if you want.”

“Mr. Albedo?” Klee broke the conversation.

The two turned their attention to the girl.

“Yes?” Albedo asked.

“There’s something Klee has to tell you.”

‘Oh no,’ Kaeya thought to himself. ‘She’s going to tell him. I have to do something before she does.’

“Klee, remember we weren’t going to talk about that.”

Albedo narrowed his eyes, “Talk about what? Is something the matter?”

Before Kaeya could even get a word out, Klee spoke up.

“Klee would like to say sorry,” she said with her head hung.

“What are you sorry for? I thought you said you didn’t blow anything up.”

“She didn’t but she told Kaeya something you told her not to.”

“Dare I ask what?”

Albedo looked at Kaeya who was blushing.

“It’s nothing. How about we change the subject?”

Albedo’s interest peaked. It was very unlike Kaeya to behave this way. What Klee wanted to say must be something Kaeya really didn’t want him to know.

“But I need to tell Mr. Albedo it’s important. Please Kaeya?”

“Fine, but only because I can’t say no to your adorable face.”

Kaeya smiled at her, making her giggle.

Albedo gave a concerned look.

“Are you sure?”

Kaeya shrugged, “It’s bound to come out at some point. I’d rather be here to explain myself when it does.”

“We could always talk in private,” Albedo whispered.

“No, it’s okay. I know Klee would want to be here for this. Not just that, I might back out at the last minute. Klee,” Kaeya paused, “tell him what we talked about today.”

Klee gave a toothy smile.

“Mr. Albedo, this is great news!”

“Please, do share with us. I’m listening.”

The girl’s grin faded slightly as she remembered that she did something she wasn’t supposed to.

“Klee accidentally told Kaeya how you like like him.”

The girl lowered her head in shame.

‘Oh Archons,’ both men thought to themselves.

It was obvious she felt bad about not keeping Albedo’s secret.

“Klee is very sorry. She knows you told her not to tell anyone but she promises she only told Kaeya.”

“It’s okay. Everyone makes mistakes.”

Albedo sounded completely calm but in reality he was freaking out on the inside.

‘She told him I like him? Do I even want to know what he said?’

“Can you tell me exactly what you told him?”

“Well, Klee told him that you like liked him and said he was pretty.”

‘Archons, it’s worse than I thought.’

“What else did you say?”

Albedo was starting to look visibly nervous about this whole situation as was Kaeya.

“Well, I said you should be boyfriends and he told me that being boyfriends isn’t the same as being friends that are boys.”

The blonde nodded, “That is true. What else did you say?”

“When I asked if he like liked you he said he didn't know.”

Albedo looked at Kaeya who did his best at not making eye contact with him.

“Is that true?”

“I mean, she asked me out of nowhere and I didn’t know how to respond.”

Kaeya still wasn’t meeting eyes with Albedo, too embarrassed by the whole situation to do so.

“Look at me,” Albedo said in a serious yet gentle tone.

Kaeya did as he was told, locking eyes with Albedo, waiting for what the blonde was going to say next.

“So, do you like me or not? There’s no point in beating around the bush now. If you don’t want to have this conversation anymore we can stop.”

‘Archons,’ Kaeya thought, ‘He’s really asking me flat out? What should I say? Should I tell him the truth?

“No, I mean, I guess what I’m trying to say is I do like you in the way you seem to like me.”

There was an awkward silence for a few seconds before Klee jumped in on the conversation.

“Kaeya like likes you and you should date and be boyfriends.”

“Is that really what you want?” Albedo asked.

“Yes, okay? We don’t have to if you don’t want to but I guess there’s no denying it now.”

Albedo’s eyes softened. He knew how difficult this conversation must be for Kaeya as expressing his feelings was something he tried to avoid. Albedo wasn’t great with emotions as well but had gotten better at it because of Klee.

“I want to. Trust me, I do.”

“Then why are you looking at me like that?”

“Like what?” Albedo asked, confused.

“Like you feel bad for me.”

“What are you talking about?”

Kaeya let out a frustrated sigh.

“You’re giving a look like you pity me.”

“I don’t pity you. I just know this wasn’t easy for you to admit.”

“No shi-” Kaeya caught himself from cursing in front of Klee.

“No, you’re right. Now can we just cut to the chase and decide if we want to make this whole dating thing official or not?”

“Well, if you’re going to put it like that then yes. I would like to date you. If you’ll agree to it.”

Kaeya blushed, “Of course I want to. I’ve been crushing on you for some time now.”

The man’s cheeks were red from embarrassment. Admitting to such a thing felt too vulnerable for Kaeya’s liking but it was important to him that he put everything on the table. It’s the least he could do as Albedo deserved an explanation.

“Well, I guess it’s official then.”

Albedo paused, obviously pondering something.

“What?” Kaeya asked with a slight frown on his face.

“I’m just wondering what you want us to call this.”

Albedo motioned between them, back and forth with his hands.

“What do you mean?”

“Like, should we say we’re dating or keep quiet about it? People are bound to connect the dots and ask.”

Kaeya nodded, taking a second before responding.

“It’s not like we have a choice with the blabbermouth in the room. People are going to find out anyway so why deny it?”

The two looked over at Klee who was sitting there distracted by her stuffed Dodoco. She was holding it in front of her, giving it a tight hug before staring into its embroidered eyes.

“I love you Dodoco. You’re the best!” Klee exclaimed with a smile on her face.

Giggling to herself, she wrapped her arms around the stuffed Dodoco and held it close.

“You’re right about that,” Albedo agreed while still watching the girl who was now having an seemingly exciting conversation with the stuffed Dodoco.

Realizing all eyes were on her, the girl looked at the two men.

“Hi!” she exclaimed, “Dodoco and Klee were just talking about you two.”

“What were you two talking about?” Albedo asked.

He was always genuinely curious about what Klee had to say. She was so pure of heart and he found her stories interesting. Klee had always been quite the character after all.

“There’s something Klee and Dodoco would like to ask,” she said with a smile on her face.

“And what might that be?”

“Are Klee and Dodoco going to get to live happily ever after forever with Albedo and Kaeya? We sure hope so.”

“Now, let’s not take things too fast,” Kaeya said, “We only just agreed to date.”

“That’s true,” Albedo added, “Usually people date for a while before deciding to live happily ever after.”

“Oh,” Klee lowered her head.

She frowned, clearly upset about the whole situation.

“So we aren’t going to live happily ever after?”

Both men gave a kind eyed smile.

“Don’t worry,” Albedo said in a calm voice, “We’re going to live happily ever after no matter where this relationship takes us. I promise you’ll get your happily ever after, Klee.”

“Yay!” Klee squealed.

Still holding the stuffed Dodoco, she got out of her seat and ran around the table to sit on the floor between the two men.

“Promise Klee no matter what happens, we’ll always be together.”

“We promise,” Albedo said before glancing over to Kaeya, “Right?”

“Yes, of course. We’ll always be here for you.”

Giggling with excitement, the girl held the stuffed Dodoco out in front of her, turning it around to show the front to the two men at her sides.

“Look at how happy Dodoco is!”

She moved the stuffed Dodoco back and forth so they could see its embroidered eyes for a face.

Albedo gave a warm smile.

“We are glad that you and Dodoco are happy.”

“Are you both happy?” Klee asked with curiosity.

“Absolutely,” he responded with no hesitation. “As you know, I have wanted to date Kaeya for some time now and am glad I finally get to.”

“Same here,” Kaeya added.

“Really?” the blonde asked, surprised.

“Yeah,” Kaeya answered.

There was a pause between the two as they were unsure of how to respond to that. Thankfully Klee broke the tension by speaking up.

“When are the two of you going to kiss?” Klee said, oblivious as to how that only made things more awkward.

“It’s too early in the relationship for that,” Albedo responded. “You’re going to have to be patient with us, Klee. Relationships happen slowly.”

“But you said boyfriends kiss.”

“Only when they’re in a very loving relationship.”

The little girl frowned.

“You don’t love each other? You said boyfriends love each other.”

The girl had a very puzzled look on her face. Things were just getting more and more complicated the longer the conversation went on.

“You both tell me you love me.”

Klee looked like she was going to cry from disappointment and overall confusion.

“Mr. Albedo has always loved Klee for as long as she can remember.”

If Albedo had a human heart it would be both warmed and breaking right about now. It was adorable how much she loved him but he hated to see her cry.

It was times like these where Albedo didn’t know what to say. Klee was visibly upset and he felt at fault.

Holding out his arms, he motioned for her to climb in his lap.

The girl brought her stuffed Dodoco with her as she got comfortable in his arms, allowing herself to be held like a baby so she could still see both his and Kaeya’s faces.

“I have and always will love you, Klee. Never forget that. The thing is, saying you love someone can be a big deal sometimes.”

The blonde was looking down at the girl as he held her close.

Klee had once said nothing bad could happen as long as she was in his arms hence why he often offered to hold her when she was upset.

“Okay,” she responded, “Klee doesn’t understand but she believes you. Do you at least like like Kaeya a little?”

Albedo brushed a few hairs out of the girl’s face before giving a soft kiss on her forehead.

“I do have strong feelings for Kaeya and am glad he has agreed to date me but I don’t know if saying I love him is too soon. We might just have to see where this goes and what Kaeya is comfortable with.”

He paused to glance over at the man next to him.

“What do you think, Kaeya?”

The man shrugged, seeming indifferent even though he was screaming on the inside. Watching Albedo be so gentle with Klee was the cutest thing he had ever seen in his entire life.

He wished they could stay like this together forever.

“I don’t care about labels. If you want to call us boyfriends I have no problem with that. If you want to call this just dating I’m also fine with that.”

He was going to leave it at that but his heart wanted him to say more.

Kaeya wasn’t one for vulnerability and talking about his feelings but this was Albedo he was talking to.

‘Screw it, I’m just going to tell him.’ Kaeya thought to himself.

The two before him could tell there was something he wanted to say so they sat there patiently until Kaeya finally gained the courage to confess.

“Though I’m glad this is all out and we can date now, there’s something else I want to say.”

“Take your time,” Albedo said in a calm tone.

“Okay, here it goes.”

The man took a deep breath before continuing.

“I know I’ve loved you for quite some time now I just never had the courage to tell you.”

Kaeya paused, clearly just as shocked as Albedo was from his confession.

“I mean, it’s too early for that. Forget I said anything.”

Klee was about to butt in but was stopped by Albedo.

“I love you as well,” Albedo said, “I have never quite understood the meaning of love until I met Klee but this love is different. I don’t know how to explain it in words other than it being the feeling of love.”

Kaeya could feel his heart melting in his chest.

“Archons, this is the best day of my life and I get to spend it with the two of you.”

Kaeya paused, making direct eye contact with the little girl in Albedo’s arms before continuing.

“Klee, I want to be part of your happily ever after. Just the three of us.”

“And Dodoco!” Klee shouted while holding her prized possession for all to see.

“And Dodoco,” Kaeya nodded.

Looking back at Albedo, Kaeya continued.

“If Albedo will allow me of course.”

“Please,” Klee gave puppy eyes at the man whose lap she sat in.

“Absolutely, there’s nothing more that I’d like than to spend all my days with the two of you.”

“And Dodoco,” Klee added.

“Yes, and Dodoco.”

“Oh, I know!” Klee exclaimed.

She dropped the stuffed Dodoco and wrapped her arms around Albedo’s neck who held her back.

They stayed like that for a moment before she pulled back to look at him.

“How about Klee draws a picture of the four of us so we can remember this day forever!”

She giggled to herself while the two men watched her, engrossed by her positive energy.

“Alright, we can help you get set up and then Kaeya and I can have a grown up conversation while you draw.”

“Can Dodoco help Klee draw?”

“Of course Dodoco can help. Just make sure you don’t accidentally color on Dodoco, okay?”

“Okay!”

Klee ran over to the chest with all her things in it and lugged all the paper and crayons over to the small table. Kaeya had been gracious enough to clear the table so she could have space to work.

“You’ll have to excuse us,” Albedo said but Klee was already too hyperfocused on her drawing to respond.

Albedo got up and followed his now boyfriend to the opposite side of the room. They made sure to be far enough away that Klee couldn't hear but close enough to her to be clearly within eyesight to make sure she was safe.

Kaeya spoke first, slightly nervous but wanting to break the tension.

“So, uh, I guess we’re boyfriends now.”

Albedo nodded, “I guess so.”

Though they were both ecstatic to finally be in a relationship with one another, it was a little awkward how it all went down.

Kaeya cleared his throat and made direct eye contact with the blonde, making it clear what he was about to say was serious.

“Look, I know we both said we love each other but if you didn’t mean it and it was just from the pressure I understand.”

Albedo was looking at the man confused.

“Of course I did. Why are you asking?”

Kaeya shrugged, “I just wanted to make sure.”

Nodding in understanding, Albedo responded.

“Well, I meant what I said. I don’t just throw words like that out there unless I really mean it.”

“Good, same here.”

There was an awkward pause as the two were taking a moment to collect their thoughts.

“So,” Albedo spoke, “what is supposed to happen now?”

“We can just play it by ear. I’m willing to take things as fast or slow as you want it to go.”

Kaeya wasn’t sure whether or not Albedo had been in any serious relationships before. It was obvious the blonde was nervous which was out of the norm for him.

“I mean you might have more experience in this area than me so I’d rather you take the lead.”

Albedo knew this wasn’t Kaeya’s first relationship. The man was the type to know what he wanted and do as he pleased.

‘Maybe it would be better if I let him decide,’ Albedo thought to himself.

As if reading his mind, Kaeya reassured his now boyfriend.

“It’s up to you. I want you to feel comfortable with where we stand. If this is all going too fast, there’s nothing wrong with slowing down.”

Albedo shook his head. “No, I like where this is headed. I’ve been waiting so long for this to happen.”

His cheeks were red as he confessed. It wasn’t easy for someone like Albedo to express his feelings.

He continued, “I do love you and I don’t know if I’m supposed to feel that way when the relationship just started but it’s true.”

Albedo had only ever truly loved one person which was Klee but this was different. This wasn’t in a big brother caregiver type of way. This was a love which couldn’t be explained.

“Your feelings are valid,” Kaeya said with a kind smile before continuing. “I feel the same way towards you. I just want to make sure you’re comfortable as you look a little nervous.”

Albedo let out a breath to calm himself.

“I mean, I am nervous but it’s in a good way. Feelings can be a lot for me even if they’re good feelings. Emotions don’t come naturally to me so you’ll have to be patient. I do really like how things are headed though.”

Hesitantly, Kaeya held Albedo’s hands in his own, grounding him and showing he cared.

“I’m willing to match your pace,” Kaeya said gently.

Letting go of Kaeya’s hands, he wrapped his arms around the man’s neck, pulling him in close.

Kaeya could feel he was tensing up. Though he could tell Albedo really wanted this, showing his love was hard. The blonde was so visibly nervous as if he were afraid he would do something wrong and mess things up.

He held Albedo by the waist, reciprocating his touch, holding him as if he were a fragile porcelain doll.

“Hey, I know it’s early but we’ve already said we loved each other but could I-”

Albedo cut him off with a smirk on his face.

“Yes, you can kiss me.”

The blonde then blushed as Kaeya removed one of his hands from Albedo’s waist to cup his cheek.

“Is this okay?” Kaeya asked calmly as he stared into his boyfriend’s eyes.

Nodding, Albedo held the man closer, smiling.

“Yeah, it’s okay.”

Before closing the gap between them, Kaeya glanced over to the other side of the room where Klee was.

Thankfully, the girl was oblivious to the outside world as she scribbled aggressively throughout this entire interaction. She’d occasionally stop to talk to Dodoco but other than that, her eyes were glued to the paper.

Kaeya then looked back at his boyfriend before finally kissing him.

Albedo relaxed into the taller man’s arms as he let his boyfriend guide the kiss which was short and sweet. Not quite passionate but there was emotion behind it.

The blonde was sad when it ended. He tried to reconnect their lips but Kaeya stopped him.

“Not while Klee’s here.”

Albedo nodded in agreement.

The two then broke apart, turning to face the girl who was surrounded by well loved crayons. It looked like she was just about finished being that almost the entire page was colored in.

“How’s it going, Klee?” Albedo asked from across the room.

The girl colored the last blank part of the paper in before standing up. She faced the two as she held up the drawing as if it were a masterpiece (which it was as it was so adorable).

It was hard to see what it was as she was bouncing up and down from excitement. She giggled with glee as the two smiled wide at her. They then walked over together to see what she had created.

“Look at what Klee made! Isn’t it pretty?”

It was a drawing of the three of them standing facing forward. Kaeya was holding Albedo’s hand who was holding Klee in his other arm. The girl had Dodoco in her arms as well. They looked like a happy family in a way.

“It’s beautiful,” Albedo responded as he bent down to meet her at her level.

“I agree,” Kaeya said as he knelt down next to the blonde. “We’re both so proud of you.”

The girl smiled, “Klee did a good job?”

Kaeya nodded, “You did a great job.”

“Look Mr. Albedo!” Klee giggled, handing the drawing to him.

“It’s absolutely stunning,” he said with a smile, “it’s perfect in every way just like you.”

Klee squealed, jumping up and down before turning to Kaeya who was watching them with a soft expression on his face.

The little girl ran into his arms. She hugged him tight while he held her back, adjusting them so it was a more comfortable position.

Watching this interaction was just about one of the most adorable things Albedo had ever seen in his entire life. Seeing the two most important people in his life hugging made him happier than words could describe.

Once they were done hugging, Klee looked up at Kaeya.

“I love you so, so much. You’re the best!”

Both men could hardly keep it together. Kaeya was nowhere near the type of person to cry but right now, he felt like he was going to.

Albedo could tell the man was on the verge of tears so he decided to redirect the conversation.

“Don’t you think this should be framed and hung up somewhere where everyone can see? I sure do. How about we go home and find somewhere to hang it. Does that sound good to you Klee?”

Breaking away from Kaeya, Klee ran up to the blonde and smiled.

“Yes! Let’s go home and do that,” she turned to look back at Kaeya, “Can we bring Kaeya with us? I want him to help.”

“Sure we can. How about you go ask him if he wants to come over.”

“Okay!”

Klee sprinted back over to Kaeya to the point where she almost ran into him.

“Do you want to come over for a playdate? Klee really wants you to.”

The man in front of her smiled.

“I’d love to spend more time with you. Come on,” he stood up and held out his hand, “Let’s get going before it gets dark out.”

“Did you hear that, Albedo?” Klee turned to face him. “Kaeya wants to have a playdate with Klee! This is the best day ever!”

“Yes, I heard. Kaeya is right though, we should start heading home. We can clean up tomorrow. Is that alright with you, Kaeya?”

The man nodded, “That’s fine with me. Let’s go, Klee.”

She took his hand and let him lead her out the door while Albedo followed closely behind, carrying the drawing and stuffed Dodoco with him.

They walked in silence through Mondstadt until Klee spoke up.

“When are you going to move in with us?” the girl asked with an innocent look on her face.

“What do you mean?” Kaeya responded, “Why would I move in with you?”

“Because you and Mr. Albedo are boyfriends now and Klee wants you to live with us. That way we can have more playtime together.”

“What do you think, Albedo? It’s pretty early in the relationship to be talking about moving in together.”

“I mean, we do have a spare room that we don’t use. It would be nice to have someone helping out around the place. You don’t have to but the offer is there.”

Kaeya nodded, contemplating how he was going to respond.

“Are you sure it’s alright? I mean, I was planning on moving anyway but still.”

“Absolutely. I mean, you’d have your own room and everything. Plenty of space to yourself.”

The way Albedo said that was kind but also made it clear he wasn’t ready for anything physically intimate yet which was extremely valid of him.

Kaeya had been to their place numerous times to either watch Klee or just spend time with Albedo so he knew what room the blonde was talking about. It was a nice and spacious room which Kaeya would be more than happy to live in.

“It’ll be nice to have a bigger room. Not only that, the rest of the place is great as well.”

“Well, thank you. I’m glad you like it there.”

There’s a pause as the two think about what this means for them.

“So is that a yes or a no?” Albedo asks.

“It’s a yes. There’s nothing I’d like more than to live with the two of you.”

The two give one another a loving look before Albedo responds.

“Great, then we can start the move whenever you’re ready.”

Klee lets go of Kaeya’s hand to stop in her tracks. The little girl starts jumping up and down as she squeals loudly. She physically couldn’t contain her excitement.

“Yay, Kaeya is going to live with us! This is the best! I get to live with the two best people in the whole world!”

“Let’s quiet down Klee,” Albedo said. “People are trying to sleep.”

“Sorry,” Klee whispers like she’s telling them a secret.

It wasn’t long after that that they reached Albedo and Klee’s place. Albedo unlocked and opened the door, motioning for Kaeya and Klee to enter.

“Thank you, Albedo,” Kaeya said with a playful smile as Klee ran in front of him.

“Mr. Albedo?” the girl asks, “Klee has to go potty and get ready to go to bed. Can you help?”

“Of course, just give me a second.”

Albedo walks into the bathroom and takes out a brand new toothbrush. He walks over and hands it to Kaeya.

“If there’s anything else you need, feel free to ask. You can put it with ours if you want. Sorry I don’t have anything for you to sleep in. None of my clothes would fit you. You don’t have to stay the night though if you’d rather go home.”

“No, I’ll stay. Thanks,” Kaeya paused, “Don’t worry about the clothes. I sleep shirtless and these pants are more comfortable than they look.”

Albedo blushed at the thought of Kaeya being shirtless earning a laugh from the taller man.

“Oh? What were you just thinking about?”

“N-Nothing, I wasn’t thinking about anything.”

Kaeya would have teased him further but didn’t want him to feel embarrassed. They had just agreed to date only a short while ago. Better not push it.

Klee was completely unaware of what was happening between the two. All she knew was she had to go to the bathroom and soon.

“Mr. Albedo?” Klee asked with slight worry in her tone as she really had to pee.

Albedo turned to face the girl who was squirming about.

“Sorry Klee. I’m coming right now.”

The blonde walked towards the anxious girl, leaving Kaeya behind. Gently, he held her hand and led her towards the bathroom.

Before closing the door behind them, Kaeya turned his head to look back at his boyfriend.

“Could you do me a favor and get some pajamas ready for her?”

“Sure, no problem.”

Being that he had helped put the girl to bed more than once in the past, he knew exactly where her things were. Going into her room, Kaeya picked out a set of red pajamas with white frills on the ends and laid them out on the bed.

He then went to the living room where he noticed Albedo had set down the drawing and stuffed Dodoco. Picking up the Dodoco, he brought and set it on the girl’s bed as she refused to sleep without it.

It was only a minute or so of waiting until Albedo came into the room with Klee holding his hand.

“Klee told me she would like it if you read the bedtime story tonight. She is very excited about it.” Albedo said as he continued holding the sleepy girl’s hand.

“Klee,”the blonde lightly squeezed her hand, “Maybe if you ask nicely Kaeya will read to you.”

The girl nodded, “Can Kaeya pretty please read the bedtime story tonight?” Klee asked.

Kaeya smiled, “Of course I can. Same one as always?”

“Yes please.”

Albedo led Klee to her bed which she crawled into. He then pulled the blanket over her legs before handing her her stuffed Dodoco. Once she was comfortable, the little girl looked into Albedo’s eyes with a smile on her face.

While this was happening, Kaeya went over to the bookshelf and picked out Klee’s favorite picture book which she had requested for. It had been written just for her as it was about going on an adventure with Dodoco.

Kaeya and Albedo then moved to sit on either side of her, leaning up against the headboard as she was.

Klee always requested they sit in bed with her while reading bedtime stories not only so they could all see the pictures but also to be physically close to one another.

The taller man opened the picture book to the first page and cleared his throat before reading.

Though she was tired, Klee did her best to follow along, pointing at the pages whenever there was a Dodoco on it which was every one as it was about Dodoco.

They were only a few pages in before the girl dozed off with her head resting on Kaeya’s chest.

Kaeya glanced over at Albedo who had a look of pure love in his eyes which could not be put into words.

“Thank you,” Albedo whispered.

Kaeya cocked his head.

“What for?”

The blonde gave a toothless smile.

“For taking such care of Klee. She absolutely adores you as do I.”

Albedo looked away, cheeks flushed with embarrassment over the confession at the end.

“Of course. The two of you make me very happy.”

Kaeya paused to brush the hair out of Klee’s face while she slept like an angel. He loved her like she was his own and was willing to do anything in his power to protect her.

“Let’s head off to bed,” Kaeya said, “We don’t want to accidentally wake her up.”

Albedo nodded, carefully sitting up and getting off the bed before Kaeya followed suit.

They stood there facing one another, giving soft expressions.

“It’s getting late,” Albedo said, “You can brush your teeth first while I get changed.”

“Sounds good,” Kaeya responded.

The man went to walk out the door when Albedo gently grabbed his wrist, stopping him in his tracks.

“What’s up?” Kaeya asked with a concerned look on his face.

“Um,” Albedo blushed, “I just wanted to say I’m happy how things turned out between us. Yeah, everything went kinda fast but I’m glad it did as I had been waiting for this for a long time.”

“Same,” Kaeya said with a smile on his face.

There was a pause between the two for a second before Kaeya continued.

“Is there anything else you want to tell me?”

The blonde nodded, hesitant to say what he really wanted at that moment.

“Could you kiss me before you go?” Albedo asked nervously.

“Yes,” Kaeya said before removing his wrist from Albedo’s grasp to hold his hand.

He led the shorter man out of Klee’s room into the hallway then, making sure not to make any noise so as to wake up the sleeping girl. Using his free hand, he quietly closed the door behind them before looking into his boyfriend’s eyes.

“Tell me if and when you want me to stop. Let’s go at your pace, okay?”

“Okay,” Albedo responded with an anxious voice.

Kaeya gave his hand a squeeze before letting go to wrap one arm around the blonde’s waist, gently pulling him close while the other lovingly cupped the side of his face.

“You’re beautiful,” Kaeya said in a warm tone of voice.

Albedo blushed at the comment, wanting to hide his face but was unable to with Kaeya’s hand on his cheek.

Kaeya leaned down and connected their lips, earning a tiny whimper from the other.

“All good?” the man asked with his lips ghosting over his boyfriend’s.

Albedo nodded, wrapping his arms around the other’s waist.

Kaeya could tell Albedo either hadn’t kissed anyone for quite some time now if at all. It was kinda cute how he was hesitant at first yet slightly eager as well.

Though he felt a little stiff for a moment, Albedo was able to relax into his boyfriend, allowing him to take the lead.

It wasn’t long until the kiss was deepened and the two were really getting at it. Breathing into one another, they held each other close as if their lives depended on it.

It was only when Albedo started pulling at Kaeya’s shirt did the kiss slow to a halt.

The man put his hands over Albedo’s, holding them in place to signal to the blonde to not go any further. He then pulled away slowly to look down at the one before him.

Albedo’s cheeks were flushed a bright red and his mouth was hanging open. Just the act of simple kissing left the blonde in a trance but Kaeya wasn’t so sure they should go further.

“Isn’t it a bit too soon to be doing that? Are you sure that’s something you’d want?”

In all honesty, Albedo wasn’t sure what exactly he wanted. It seemed like sleeping with Kaeya was the normal thing to do but he wasn’t really sure what the social protocol was in this situation.

“Isn’t that what you want?” Albedo asked.

With a look of concern on his face, Kaeya frowned.

“Not if you don’t want it. I’m more than willing to wait as long as it takes until you’re ready.”

Albedo frowned back, wondering why Kaeya had stopped him in the first place. It was sweet he cared about what Albedo wanted but still.

“What makes you think I’m not ready?”

Kaeya hesitated before stating his next question, unsure as to how it would make Albedo feel.

“Have you done it before?” Kaeya asked gently.

The way Albedo blushed and avoided eye contact was all that was needed to answer the question.

His hands were still grasping on Kaeya’s top whose own hands continued to be over the blonde’s.

“I wouldn’t want your first time to be this early in a relationship. Not only that, I would never want you to do something just because you think it’s what you’re supposed to do.”

Albedo loosened his grip, sighing to himself as he relaxed.

“Yeah in all honesty I’m not ready for that just yet.”

He confessed this with his head turned down, eyes glancing at his feet.

“I do want to do it with you someday though.”

“And I’m more than happy to wait for you.”

The taller man let go of his boyfriend’s hands to hold the blonde by his cheeks. He gave the shorter one a kind smile who sheepishly smiled back.

“And someday,” Kaeya continued, “if you end up wanting to, I promise to put all my effort into taking care of you like you deserve to be taken care of.”

Albedo’s cheeks flushed further to the point where Kaeya could feel the warmth on his hands.

“Come to bed with me,” Albedo stated.

His voice was a little shaky but still firm enough to show he meant what he said.

Kaeya narrowed his eyes at his boyfriend.

“I thought we weren’t going to do anything yet.”

Albedo shrugged, “Yeah but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to be close to you.”

“Okay, but feel free to ask me to leave if you end up wanting to be alone. I won’t get offended, I promise.”

Kaeya paused to give the blonde a peck on the forehead.

“Promise me you’ll tell me what you want and don’t want, okay?”

“I promise.”

“And I expect you to make the first move. I know you’d rather me take the lead but this is about you and what you want.”

“Okay.”

“Well, what are you waiting for? Show me the way,” Kaeya said with a smirk on his face.

Albedo held out his hand for his boyfriend to take which the man took and allowed himself to be led to Albedo’s bedroom.

Once there, Albedo let his boyfriend’s hand go, suddenly seeming anxious about something.

“What’s up?” Kaeya asked. “Changed your mind? I can go if you want.”

“Um,” Albedo said as he swayed. “It’s not that. I was just wondering if you could give me a second to change into something more comfortable.”

“Sure, I’ll go brush my teeth while I wait. Just come get me when you’re done.”

Nodding, Kaeya left the room, locking the door behind him to give Albedo the space he needed.

The short man changed into simple sky blue pajamas and brushed his hair out before stepping out the bedroom door. He went to the bathroom, got ready, and headed towards the main area of the house.

Kaeya had been waiting in the living room patiently. Once he noticed his boyfriend’s arrival, the man stood up and faced him.

“You look very cute in those.”

“Thanks,” Albedo responded as he took in the slight before him.

Kaeya had removed all his accessories and placed them on the kitchen counter, leaving him in just a top and tight bottoms.

“Isn’t that top going to be uncomfortable to sleep in? Wouldn’t you rather not wear that?”

It hadn’t meant to come across as flirty or anything like that so Kaeya decided not to tease him over it.

“Nah, don’t worry about it. I’ll keep my shirt on tonight.”

“Okay,” Albedo paused, “So what now?”

Kaeya shrugged, “Whatever you want. We could get in bed or just sit together.”

“Would it be alright if we got in bed?” Albedo blushed, “I-I mean if you would want to.”

Kaeya’s eyes softened. The way Albedo asked questions like that were so adorable. He wasn’t the type to get embarrassed or quite honestly outwardly care what people thought about him. This was a new side of Albedo which he could grow to love.

“Sure,” he said with a smile on his face, “Would you like to get in first?”

The man pulled back the sheets, gesturing towards it.

“Okay,” Albedo said as he climbed into bed, allowing Kaeya to tuck in his legs as he sat up against the headboard.

Kaeya then went around to the other side and got in a well, giving Albedo enough space so as not to get in his personal bubble.

“You can come closer if you want,” the blonde said as his eyes met Kaeya’s gaze.

Kaeya did just that, gently scooting over until their shoulders were touching.

It was honestly only awkward because Albedo was nervous. This wasn’t close to being the first time in bed with someone and it certainly wouldn’t be the last.

Physical touch didn’t come naturally for Albedo though. The only person who he did like hugging was Klee but that was different as he saw her as family. This on the other hand was new territory.

“You good? Do you want me to do more or less?” Kaeya asked with a calm tone of voice.

“More please.”

“Alright,” Kaeya put his arm around the blonde’s shoulders, very gently pulling them close.

Albedo relaxed into the touch, curling up, resting his head on the man’s shoulder. This was so unlike him it even surprised himself. Being vulnerable like this with someone wasn’t something he was used to but he could definitely get used to it.

The blonde then put an arm around Kaeya’s waist, holding onto him as he let out a content sigh.

“This is nice,” he said with a small smile on his face.

Kaeya leaned down and gave his boyfriend a kiss on the forehead.

“It is,” Kaeya looked into Albedo’s eyes then, taking in the sight of such a beautiful person.

“What?” Albedo asked curiously.

“Sorry, it’s just you’re so beautiful.”

Albedo’s cheeks flushed.

“Thanks, so are you.”

“Let’s go to sleep. It’s late and we have a lot to do tomorrow.”

“Okay,” Albedo shuffled until he was laying on the pillow to which Kaeya followed suit.

The taller man laid on his back while his boyfriend was on his side, facing him.

“I love you,” Albedo said softly.

“I love you too.”

Albedo shifted his body until he was pressed against his boyfriend’s side. Spooning his body, the blonde quickly dozed off as he held onto the man as if he would leave him any minute.

Kaeya softly smiled to himself. This new life was something he had dreamed of for Archons knows how long. Sleeping in a bed with a significant other whom he loved and adored as did they.

Kaeya gave Albedo one last kiss on the forehead before drifting off to sleep.
