Ratio narrows his eyes. He has a gnawing feeling that he knows exactly where the gambler is headed with this and he is compelled to confirm his suspicions. “What kind of experiment?”
“Feed on me,” Aventurine proposes, his voice breathless yet resolute.
Ratio nearly spits out his wine.
For Veritas Ratio, the struggle to suppress his cravings during a trip to a distant planet is nothing less than burdensome.
