Chapter Text
The bottle of firewhisky is empty and rolling across the filthy rug. Remus stares at it, mesmerized by the way the light from the fire shines on the glass.
Sirius snores on the sofa.
Tonks turns her head and smirks.
“Truth or dare?”
“Dare,” he says, unthinkingly.
“Kiss one of us.” She points to herself and then to Sirius.
Sirius is sleeping, openmouthed and his tongue lolling out like a dog. Remus crumples his nose at him. Tonks’s pink lips are glistening and inviting.
He can’t kiss her.
“Can I change to truth?” he says, his syllables slurring.
“Nope.”
Remus is half-tempted to ask if Kreacher can be included in the dare.
“What’ll it be, Remus?”
He’s emboldened by the drinks. No one will know, and if he’s lucky, she won’t remember. He leans forward and lets his lips fall on hers.
It feels better than firewhisky.
