Summary
It’s the right thing to do, and she cares about Lottie, no matter how much she tries to deny it. Natalie wants to be a better person; she’s realized that much in the last few days. She’s spent her entire life living for some other person, and she wants to spend the rest of it living for herself and actively trying to be a better person. And if that means going through some breathing techniques with her hand on Lottie’s chest, she accepts it. Travis once told her she was a good person, and, even if she doesn’t feel like it most days, the acceptance of his death has pushed her to embrace that side of herself once more.
