Chapter Text
It was a normal day, one just like any other with nothing to really tell it apart. Well, at the start at least.
Benrey, Jimmy, Kokushibo, Slime, Etho, and Joel were all hanging out that day when it happened. They had signed up for this shelter type thing for if they were to ever need it because why not? It was free, after all.
An alarm took over every single thing it could warning of a nuclear bomb accidentally being dropped here and soon will hit the ground and explode, killing any and everything too close, and it happened to be much too close to their neighborhood. Everyone was yelling and running.
They knew that if they wanted to survive, they’d have to run, too. Or fly. Slime turned into just that and zoomed away, trusting that the others would also make it in time without looking back, Jimmy grabbed Joel and flew off with him, Benrey simply teleported somehow, and Kokushibo was sprinting to the entrance with Etho following very close behind.
When they got there, they showed their IDs and proof that they signed up for the shelter and then booked it inside once they were allowed to go.
They were lowered underground with only a few other citizens who signed up for this, they all gathered together and made sure they all were there.
”Okay, okay, calm down everyone. Benrey’s here, Kokushibo’s here, Jim’s here with Joel, Etho’s here, I’m here of course, and that’s all of us. We’re all alright.” Slime said, appearing to be the calmest on the outside but very much panicking and Benrey was soon to calm down from what just happened too, well, until they heard another thing.
First it was an ear-piercing explosion sound that left a ringing in everyone’s ears even from way down here, then a shockwave a minute later as they heard people screaming and likely die above ground.
They huddled together and from that point on, they promised they’d stay by each other’s sides forever.
Soon they were all the way down, they were given outfits, room keys, and all that stuff, but were instructed to take a shower and get rid of the clothes they had on now for extra measures as to not track absolutely any radiation into the shelter, so they did that.
Turns out they had to all share a room because there just wasn’t enough for everyone to have one to themselves so people were grouped together with who they knew if they knew anyone and if not, they’d be assigned someone at random.
This also meant, you guessed it, they had to share a bed.
Kokushibo wasn’t sure he’d ever seen them all get even a bit red so fast.
They all took their showers, and were now examining everything in the room. Kokushibo noted that there was a big bed sure to fit them if they huddled together, two comfortable-looking arm chairs, a small kitchen and dining room area, a bathroom of course which also had necessities such as new toothbrushes that haven’t even been taken out from their boxes yet, toothpaste bottles, and all that fun stuff.
Kokushibo was curious and kind of worried on what else they had, but after asking a staff member, he learned a few things. They’d been working on this for a while now and had a steady supply of animals and vegetation that they could keep going for a long time, they had a big bar complete with alcoholic beverages and normal ones like water and lemonade, a public cafeteria, medical rooms, and a bunch of rooms for different activities like arts, music, learning to farm, yoga, and sports, they even had a school system here! “Wow, they weren’t lying when they said they were prepared.” Kokushibo muttered to himself, as he was alone currently looking around now.
