“I wouldn’t do it again if I had the chance,” The boy corrected himself, “not even if they treated me worse than they already had,” it was silent in the room. The lady peered back at him from her paper, “I didn’t like hearing the… what do you call it? Death rattle? The feeling of taking another’s life. I would never do it again,” he stared off into space in between his long strands of hair. The mother couldn’t tell if he was staring at her or at the dust floating around her. Eerie fucking thing. He refused to speak much more on his past after that. He seemed to keep most of it close to his chest. She finished writing her notes. Putting the pen down and adjusting her pant leg. Recrossing her legs and looking at him evenly in the eye.
“You have a name?” She knew it likely wouldn’t matter, many people changed their names after entering for safety purposes. But she simply felt a ferocious curiosity about the kid. The way his large blue eye would stare up at her, so innocent for such a clean killer.
