The Many Lives of Lily Evans
Chapter 1: The Afterlife

Death seemed to greet her quickly. It happened in the blink of an eye. It was like falling asleep. Next thing Lily knew, she opened her eyes and was surprised at where she found herself.
Hogwarts!?
Was this all some weird dream or was she actually dead? Why would she end up at Hogwarts of all places?
“Ah…I see another Lily has made it.”
She turned around to find another version of herself looking back at her with a smile. God, the similarities, except she seemed a bit…younger.
“I’m not sure what’s going on.”
“Let me explain,” the other Lily said, “you’ve sadly been killed or passed away. This is the afterlife and anything’s possible here. There are no limits.”
“So that’s why another version of myself is telling me all this?”
“Alternate versions you could say. Different possible outcomes for how our lives went or could have played out,” she paused, sighing, “We really should try to differentiate ourselves from one another. Too many Lily’s all in one place can be confusing when trying to figure out which one you’re referring too.”
Her eyes went wide. “There are others?”
“Of course,” she said as if it was a normal thing, “Follow me.”
She started to lead her up the hill as the scene suddenly shifted, Hogwarts now turning into a fancy ballroom with tables full of food and drinks. She noticed two women standing together as they approached.
“Another one has arrived,” They all turned and Lily felt like she was having a weird nightmare seeing others who almost looked like her, except for slight differences, glancing back. “Now we’re going to have to start figuring out our naming situation.”
One Lily that was wearing Slytherin robes got up, lifting her wand. “I have an idea. Why not nametags? Something simple, short, and explaining our obvious differences from one another.” With a flick of her wrist, name tags suddenly appeared on them, followed by words.
Lily blinked at hers, sighing. Of course it said Obscurial .
She glanced at the others; Slytherin, Protection , and… Vampire?!
“Don’t worry. This isn’t all of us. There are more to be following soon,” Protection said. “So…who's ready to share their story?” None of the other Lily’s raised their hand, or looked excited to speak. “Very well. I’ll go first.”
