   "I see Jerome has had his fun already."
   Bruce glanced up at the man. His eyes blinked away the burning tears. The sight before him was blurry, like a bad camera. Oh, how he wished it were a camera. That this was just a photo he was looking at. Jeremiah looked much taller, much more terrifying than he remembered him being. His pale outline glowed like a halo around him from the light of the open doorway.
   Jerome shouted from the hall, "It wasn't that bad!"
   Bruce knew Jeremiah was looking for a reaction - a coy response or a snarky rebuttal - something to make him feel better about what he was about to do.
