Work Text:
Hound scooped up a bucket of warm water, pouring it over Jazz's back and shoulders. Taking the rag off his own hip, he gently washed off the foaming suds. Behind him, Mirage scrubbed at a particularly thick clump of mud stuck to his plating. Bumblebee sat in front of Jazz, Jazz's claws sliding through thin gaps in his plating with a soft cloth.
Jazz leaned forward as Hound used the tip of his digit to rub away a stain. "Ah, that feels nice. Thank ya, Hound."
Hound smiled. "No problem." He adjusted his stance, shifting his weight as Mirage held his hip and scrubbed harder. "Need some help, Mirage?"
Mirage huffed, shaking his head. "You need to stop driving through so much mud, it's caked on. Why don't you hose off more often?"
Hound's smile turned apologetic, tilting his head slightly. "Sorry, Mirage. I try to remember, but it's easy to forget. It's just so much fun to drive around and I forget to wash off all the dirt."
Bumblebee and Jazz laughed together, Bumblebee turning to smile widely up at Hound. "There is a lot of dirt on this planet. Lots of these little pebbles, too."
Jazz flicked out yet another pebble, sliding his claws between his plates again. "Yeah! Can't seem to get 'em all out. I'm gonna be here all day at this rate."
Bumblebee slumped and squirmed, flaring out his plating. Hound smiled down at him and carefully leaned away to refill his bucket and dip his cloth into it, wringing it out before letting Mirage do the same. Jazz took it from him, setting it down and rinsing off his own servos.
The hot midday sun beat down on them as they relaxed, picking pebbles and dirt out of each other's plating and using some car-soap provided by Sparkplug and Spike. It was their own little hide away, a little patch of forest with a cool river. The bright sun warmed their plating and dried off some water.
Mirage finished wiping off that thick clump and wiped it away with a suds-soaked cloth. "Finally."
Hound smiled and reached back, pulling Mirage close with one arm. "C'mon, let me get you cleaned off."
Mirage softly huffed, but Jazz caught his waist and pulled him onto the log beside him. For once, Mirage didn't argue and let Hound rub the cloth over his helm. Bumblebee smiled up at him and grabbed his own cloth, leaning against Mirage's leg and reaching up to wipe off his chest plate.
Jazz smiled, already picking out annoying little pebbles that'd snuck into Mirage's plating. They leaned into each other, practically petting each other's frames with soft cloths and gentle claws. Tiny pebbles and clusters of dirt were flicked away and replaced with white suds, only to be rinsed away.
