Work Text:

"W—welcome!" stammered the shy blonde girl behind the counter at Karasuno Coffee. The café had been pretty popular a while back, but had lost quite a bit of that popularity when another coffee shop opened up nearby. There were a few, however, who continued to come. Among these people was the beautiful Shimizu Kiyoko, along with her group of college friends.

The girl behind the counter was absolutely adorable. It seemed that she was too shy even to look at the customers, let alone make eye-contact, but Kiyoko thought it was cute. The girl's name tag read 'Yachi Hitoka'.

"Wha-what would you like?" she asked Kiyoko, who was up to order.

"Vanilla latte please," Kiyoko requested, smiling politely, "and your phone number, if that's alright with you."

"N-name for the... the order?" Yachi blushed furiously, trying to hide behind her curtain of golden hair.

"Kiyoko." Yachi nodded, still blushing, and went to fix the drink as Kiyoko went to sit by her friends from university.

"What did you say to that poor girl Kiyoko?" Suga laughed, warming his hands on his cocoa since it was winter and he got cold easily.

"It doesn't matter unless it leads to something." She shrugged.

"What did you do?" Suga asked, more sternly this time.

"Only asked for her number," Kiyoko said as if it were nothing.

"Kiyoko, you can't just ask people for their number while they're working!" Suga scolded. "That's workplace harassment!"

"I asked very politely," Kiyoko defended.

"Ha! That's pretty ballsy of you Kiyoko." Daichi laughed, putting an arm around Suga's shoulders to calm him. "I gotta admit I'm impressed. Not all that surprised, but impressed."

"Don't encourage her Daichi." Suga glared at his boyfriend, who just laughed, as did the rest of the table.

"K—Kiyoko!" Yachi called, and Kiyoko got up to get her drink, winking at the barista before returning.

She looked at what Yachi had written on her cup, and was beaming as she sat down.

Kiyoko

My shift ends at four.
~ Yachi

"She has beautiful handwriting," Yui commented when she looked at the writing over the ravenette's shoulder.

"Almost as beautiful as she is," Kiyoko agreed. "I can't wait to see what she's like behind the shyness." She put Yachi's number into her phone, then she stayed at the coffee shop until four, even though all her friends had things to do and left before then. She didn't mind.

When Yachi's shift ended, she offered to walk the small girl home. She agreed, but as they walked it started to snow, and Yachi began to shiver. Kiyoko gave the other girl her scarf, and took her shaking hand in her own. That was the beginning of a sweet and happy relationship.

Notes:

This is really short, I'm sorry. Originally it was going to be longer, and include more of their actual relationship, but this seemed like the natural ending to me, so I left it. Love y'all.
