    "Lan Zhan," he says weakly, "when did you get those glasses? I didn't know you were having, uh, trouble seeing…" he finishes lamely.

    "They're reading glasses," Lan Zhan says, "non-prescription. Brother suggested them when I mentioned I've been having some vision problems." He shuts the laptop in one elegant move with the very tips of his fingers. Wei Ying gulps.

    "...Right."
