“Shinkai Hayato, please stop petting the test subjects.” The teacher sighed at the redhead.
“They aren’t test subjects, they’re rabbits.” Shinkai refused to stop petting the bunnies. His science class was performing experiments on rabbits. Nothing too extreme, just testing if different types of music had an effect on the rabbit’s eating habits. But still, Shinkai didn’t like that they were being treated like an experiment and not like the precious animals that they were.
His teacher sighed again. “I told you, we’re taking good care of them. Now will you stop petting them?”
“No.”
“I’m going to have to send you to detention, then.”
“Can I bring the rabbits?”
“No, Shinkai.”
A few minutes later, Shinkai showed up to the detention room. And it was no surprise that his teammate, Arakita, was there as well. It was only the two of them and the supervising teacher, who was too busy playing solitaire on her computer to pay attention to the two boys.
“Hey, Yasutomo.” Shinkai gave a wave as he sat down next to the raven haired boy.
Arakita smirked at his teammate. “Heh. Didn’t think I’d see you in here. What’d ya do? Snap and go in your fucking weird demon mode in the middle of class?”
The sprinter shook his head and let out a chuckle. “I wouldn’t stop petting the rabbits in the middle of science class.”
Arakita burst out into laughter, which caused the teacher to give him a glare. “I don’t care if you two talk, but keep it quiet.”
The ace assistant rolled his eyes at that. “Sorry.” He turned back towards his teammate. “Are you serious? Jeez, you’re even weirder than I thought.”
Shinkai shrugged his shoulders. “They were too cute, and I didn’t like how they were being treated. Why are you here, though?”
“Swore at the teacher. You know, the usual.”
Shinkai let out a chuckle. “I don’t know what else I expected.”
“I don’t know what you expected either. Fuck, I’m hungry…”
“I have a powe-”
“I don’t want any of your goddamn power bars! They’re gross! Hey, after we get outta here, let’s grab some food before practice.”
“Hmm.” Shinkai thought for a second. “Sounds good. It’s a date.” He teased.
Arakita’s face turned bright red at that. “What the fuck!? No! It’s not a date! Gross! Who’d wanna go on a date with you, idiot!?”
Another glare from the teacher got Arakita to be a little more quiet. “Idiot… I guess if you want it to be a date… I wouldn’t mind…”
Shinkai’s eyes grew wide at that, and his cheeks turned pink as well. “I’d love that.” He wouldn’t mention that he was just teasing. Arakita might take back the offer if that was the case. He gave the boy a wide smile. “Then, it’s a date.”
Arakita blushed a bit harder. “Tch… You’re paying, though.”
Shinkai smiled again. “I’m fine with that.”
