“Oh… it’s you.”
June had always been hard for Sarah Porter, ever since she set aside her old work. She’s walked back here, to the sea, to the water, where she feels whole. She never really expected to come face to face with Abi Borin again.
“Yeah, it’s me…”
Abi’s smile is soft even as she holds a hand out, she can sense how nervous, how tense, Sarah is.
“Come on… swim with me.”
Sarah hesitates, just long enough to consider her options, then shrugs and lets her dress fall to the sand, following Abi into the waves, not once caring that she’s barefoot and limping, she doesn’t need to be strong to swim, not here, not with Abi. June, she thinks, could be good, if she only trusts her heart. So she chooses to trust, chooses to swim, chooses to kiss Abi on the shoreline. Chooses to try again.
