Chapter Text

Robin jumped and took his position atop the crate, batarangs at the ready and a rare frown on his lips. He knew there would be consequences for this venture when he arrived back to Wayne Manor, no doubt Alfred would have his jaw clenched in anticipation. He almost relished the hope at the thought of Bruce taking care of the task instead.

Well, he could at least hope.

As one of the towering minions aimed their gun at him, he let out a sharp curse in Basque; only catching the barest hint of surprise in one of the goon's eyes as if he had cast a dark charm, yet still evoking his trademark smirk. Suddenly, he heard the softest of voices asking if he was okay in a gruff manner. Even though it was barely audible, he instantly recognized who it belonged to - Supergirl. It was incredible how he could easily forget that she had an almost unparalleled ability to speak -possibly- every language ever known. This knowledge was ingrained in her since the moment of her creation, allowing her access to a world of wisdom that most people could only dream of.

He pondered if she could outsmart even Batman should she call on all her wisdom, then decided it was entirely possible. “Batman bizi den pertsonarik adimentsuena bezalakoa da, baina erraz gainditzen da norbait nahikoa ahalegintzen bada", he said with a smirk. A gentle giggle was his answer, and he recalled that she was the only one who could even hear him.

Robin considered if Batman had intended for them to work together on this case when they had first met, and concluded that yes - Batman knew best like always; the ultimate master of hyper-vigilance. Also known as mother henning, but that was for another time. He deftly struck the nerve of another goon's neck, dexterously separating the firearm in his hands and flinging it away with a flourish. Oh, he had been so captivated by her delicate laughter that he had completely vanquished the hooligans without a second thought.

He briefly paused, wondering how she was doing and if she required help. “Nork uste duzu gainditu lezakeela Batman adimenduna?” Supergirl spoke, her voice soft yet entirely gruff, like a flower in full bloom yet still trying to keep its petals closed, masking the simmering rage underneath. Robin couldn't help but ponder if she was aware of how scared they all were of her or if she was simply perpetually wrathful. Still, Robin had a few people in mind whom he thought was even more intelligent than Batman. Alfred, Supergirl herself, and contrary to what Superman might believe, definitely not himself. “Uste dut horietako bat behintzat ezagutzen duzula.” Responded Robin.

Supergirl hummed her assent, and whenever she made these gentle noises, her anger seemed to slowly subside and an inner peacefulness radiated from her. Her voice was a soothing balm that quelled the storm of emotion inside of her, allowing a kind of serenity to take its place. She seemed to possess a wisdom that was beyond the reach of mere mortals, an understanding that no one else could fathom. “Zeure burua esan nahi al duzu? Baietz uste nuke, oso argia zarela.” Supergirl said, unaware that her words sent Robin into a panic - he had no idea what to do. How could he possibly take action with her showering him with compliments in this way? Thirty heart attacks later and he still had no answer.

“Zer array. Supergirl, ezkondu nirekin.” He spoke, unwillingly, like the foolish fool he was. To his amazement, Supergirl didn't do anything other than release a light chuckle before laughing softly, as if Robin hadn't just made a complete mockery of himself. ”Agian lehenik zita batera joan gaitezen.” Supergirl declared, and Robin's cheeks flushed an embarrassed pink as he delivered a swift kick to the last miscreant. In a flourish of triumphant victory, the fight had been won.

"Akordioa. Itzultzen al zara berriro?"” Robin asked with an unperturbed smile, his voice confident as his mind began to conjure up countless wonderful ideas for a romantic outing. Suddeny he heard a sound similar to an electric zap and tensed after realizing it came through the earpiece.

“Aurrera, oraindik gauza gehiago ditut egiteko.” Supergirl responded, her voice coarse and commanding.

The thought of anyone brave enough to bring such wrath upon themselves made Robin feel a tinge of sympathy - he was sure they would soon be regretting their actions, as she could deliver a powerful kick to their most sensitive regions.

“Aye-aye.” Robin uttered his words, eliciting a faint hum in response before Supergirl terminated the connection to their earpiece. With a hint of intrigue, he was prompted into a mild curiosity. He wanted to know who was going to get their ass beaten, but at the same time didn’t feel like being in the crossfire. Robin hastened back to the plane, warily surveying the area. Previously, it had seemed perfectly harmless, and he was loath to think any danger lurked near Supergirl.

But then a voice crackled through the plane's speaker, pushing all doubts aside. Robin heard the crack of metal before he realized what was happening. The rumble of a revving engine made him turn, and his heart quickened as he saw smoke and destruction in the air. He had was watching a fight in progress, and his mind raced at the possibilities of what could happen next. Supergirl had found herself in a precarious situation - and it seemed like she was looking to deliver a punishment they'd never forget. All Robin could do now was watch from afar, hoping that no one would be lost in this strange altercation, though he was aware that Supergirl wasn't worried about anyone's mortality.

The battle raged on as Supergirl used her super strength to send the evildoers flying through the air with a single punch. Robin shivered at her formidable strength, wondering what it felt like to be behind one of those punches.

Eventually, after what seemed like a never-ending battle, Supergirl emerged victorious - albeit with multiple wounds to her outfit. Undaunted and unharmed, she strode forward determined to continue protecting the world from danger.

"Aldaketa bat behar duzu?" He asked with an air of confidence, which she instantly noted and couldn't help but smirk in response.

“Ọ bụrụ na ị chọghị ichere.” Supergirl said as she quickly made her way to the back of the plane in response.

“Nah adị m mma na ichere. Mana anyị nwere naanị uwe ma ọ bụrụ na ị dị mma na nke ahụ,” Robin smiled, "Ọ na-abụkarị ma ọ bụrụ na dike ọzọ chọrọ mgbanwe uwe."

"Anaghị m emegide uwe, ọ bụ ihe ijuanya na ọ dị mma." Then she vanished into the depths of the plane, and Robin reclined in his seat to watch a few videos on Youtube as he waited.

As he was in the middle of watching a Gabriel Iglesias video, Supergirl glided like a goddess in her ethereal dress of midnight velvet. Her mini-length dress clung to her curves perfectly, emphasizing her womanly figure in a way that felt both powerful and soft. The fabric caught the glimmer of light in such a way that it cascaded around her body like liquid gold - an apt representation of the goddess-like power she held inside herself. She was unstoppable in this outfit, and his eyes were on her as she moved gracefully through space.

“Supergirl... I swear to you that you were sculpted by the hands of an angel, destined to be the most beautiful incarnation of Aphrodite. You are an absolute vision, radiating grace and beauty with each step you take.” Robin choked out, voice hoarse as his mind went to places it shouldn’t go. Supergirl only chuckled in amusement as she made her way gracefully to her seat, her confident posture radiating an inner strength. She settled down into the chair and closed her eyes, a peaceful smile settling onto her lips.

“It's so impressive that you're also studying poetry, Robin. I'm almost jealous of your teacher...”

Robin was taken aback with delight. “You did that on purpose!”

Supergirl remained silent, though her yawn indicated that the conversation had reached its conclusion. Robin continued to observe her in silence, the plane taking them back towards Mount Justice. On his journey, he pondered if Batman would grant permission for him to bring Supergirl into the Batcave and allow her to join their weird-ass family (without the need for a legal adoption). A super-powered Bat member was what the world needed. He could already imagine their matching costumes.

As the plane descended, Robin felt a swell of anticipation. His imagination raced with possibilities, and his pulse quickened in excitement. This was something to look forward to on top of his tedious studies and long hours spent in front of the computer. His newfound resolve now firmly in place, he glanced at Supergirl one last time before their return to Mount Justice.

The girl smiled back before nestling into his side, then she strode gracefully towards her chambers. She was likely changing back into her normal attire, before returning to issue an account of her mission to Batman. This arrangement suited Robin precisely, as it gave him the confidence to join forces with Supergirl and face Batman’s never-ending smugness as he finally admitted to embarrassingly asking Supergirl out instead of doing so like he had wished, romantic, professionally, and whatnot.

This proved to be futile because the moment Supergirl reappeared with Batman in tow, he swears someone was forcing leather tea down his throat. He didn’t know which was more terrifying; the thought of Batman and Supergirl teaming up or the fact that Batman was smirking openly in the bat suit, but so was Supergirl.

Robin gulped nervously and realized that Batman was being openly ... nice. It made him wonder if Supergirl had told Batman about his little gesture or not; either way, he chose to remain silent, feeling embarrassed for having let his efforts go to waste.

”Robin,” Batman said, voice smug. “I heard you asked Supergirl out recently.” Robin felt his face flush, but he managed to nod in confirmation. ”Well,” Batman said, “consider this an early conformation of approval. Because if there's one thing that has consistently proven true over the months - it's that Supergirl and I make a deadly team."

At that, Supergirl smiled, much to Robin’s disbelief.

They were both traitors.
