    Katsuki peeked over the fallen tree log and saw the most magnificent beast he had ever laid eyes on: a beautiful dragon, covered in shining deep black scales that tapered to red at the ends. Huge horns sat atop his head, no doubt to help protect him from foes, bits of them splintered and chipped from what he could only assume was various fights. A forked tongue poked out of its mouth as Katsuki watched it collapse onto its side, moving its head towards its abdomen. It was making a low distressed sound.

    Katsuki realized it must be hurt.

    It would be so easy to kill it now -take it down and mount its head on his wall for all the people of the village to see. He would be a legend -both the most ruthless soldier of the realm, and a dragon killer.
