Summary
He pushed his body until a pit came into view. He was running too fast to stop. The heels of his tattered shoes dug into the black concrete; a weak attempt at a halt. His exhausted legs buckled under such pressure, and he collapsed. The fall twisted his limbs and tripped him forward, tipping into the endless hole of large spikes and barbed wire.
As he collapsed into the bottomless pit, a searing pain pierced through his body. The jagged points of the metal stakes tore into his flesh, driving into his vital organs, eliciting a primal scream that echoed through the desolate air. Blood gushed from his wounds, staining the sharp edges of the spikes that poked out his stomach with a gruesome red hue. He held the spike bulging out his stomach, letting the warm, crimson color run down his weakened arms.
With each agonizing breath, he felt his strength edging away. The punctured lungs struggled to fill with air; a harsh reminder of his diminishing life. The sharp barbs entangled in his already thrashed clothes and hair, further entwining him in a macabre web of suffering.
