Lan XiChen has always enjoyed teaching little ones, after all, he has already been a father figure to the three most talented disciples of the Lan Clan one of them being the Chief Cultivator himself and the other two being the current head disciples Lan Shizui. and Lan Jingyi. No matter how hard he tried to enclose himself in self-reflection and grief his seclusion kept getting disturbed by two of his favorite disciples - Shizui and Jingyi. Be it an important document that must have the Clan leader's attention or how one of the disciples couldn't confess his love they would make sure it reaches XiChen's ears.
He knew they missed him, and it was just the tricks of his little children who missed their loving uncle. XiChen being himself couldn't resist the kids. Although he choose to stay true to his self-instructed seclusion he did answer the kids in some form or the other. Until one day when he gave in to 2 years of constant efforts of his children.
The matter indeed wasn't very small either. Cloud Recess was once again hosting guest disciples and Zizhen had decided that this pretty Yunmeng lady he met at the inn in Caiyi town is his soulmate. This was the fifth time he claimed to have met his soulmate and the little Lans and Princess Jin decided to give him love advice. It was still a month before the official start but these few juniors decided to come early.
XiChen was standing behind a tree listening to the blabber when he heard Shizui say something in a very sad voice - "If you are soulmates it doesn't mean you are meant to be together. The last time Wei Qianbei sent him a letter was six months ago saying he was fine and roaming the world. This was the second one since the Guanyin temple day." These words left XiChen dumbstruck. He knew Wei WuXian was not living in Cloud Recess but never imagined these two to be such fools. That moment he decided to interfere even if he planned the seclusion for another year, his kids can keep it a secret though. He came out from his hiding place and quietly asked the kids to meet him near the cold spring at 5 the next morning. He knew WangJi would be there.
All five of them met as decided and when XiChen knew WangJi is hearing he decided to say in disguise of Zizhen's spring love advice he said - "Two souls meeting once is a coincidence, twice is fate but to make it your destiny you must seek it. You must do all you can to make the twists and turns of fate your destiny."
"But where should I start?" - asked Zizhen. XiChen smiled and said, "Your Wei Qianbei was good at it."
"I wish he was here. Can you invite him ZewuJun?" - asked Jingyi. "I am afraid I am still in seclusion, your Hanguang Jun can do it. Why don't you ask him?" - said XiChen.
WangJi never really got a chance to seek advice on this matter from his xiongzhang, but after listening to this he decided to give himself a second chance. He thought - 'Maybe this time it would be different.'
Later after the afternoon session, he saw Shizui following him outside the class. Shizui gave him regular updates on how the younger disciples were doing and said - "I miss Wei Qianbei a lot." in the end. But what left him dumbfounded was his father's reply, WangJi had said - "Me too."
