Diluc happily opens Angel’s Share on October 31st, at his dear Lumine’s request. When her friends enter the space, they look around to find rows of pumpkins set up at the tables, with name cards. These are designed to keep certain members, such as Childe and Xiao, from eating each other alive.
Music flits through the room, though the wind is playing it. The smell of apples and pumpkins is carried on the breeze, and cinnamon from the fires Diluc lit throughout the space, burning in all of the lanterns on the walls. He has candles set up behind the bar, to give to everyone once they’re done carving.
Diluc carves through 3 pumpkins in record time. The first is a face, the second is a moon with a jagged side. And the third is his favorite, a flower. Specifically, the kind which is in Lumine’s hair. She smiles to see it. On countless evenings, the two of them have walked home together. Only last week, he asked her about the flower’s origins. She replied it’s from her hometown, and that she keeps it alive with magic.
Venti carves dandelions and grapes into his pumpkin, using wind. He laughs haughtily. Lumine makes him do another one with his hands, so the archon carves out the Favonius Cathedral. He presents it to her, and she smoothes back his bangs, giving him a kiss on the forehead which steals his breath and leaves him turning slowly in his seat, grinning.
Albedo looks over and sighs because his idea was stolen. So he carves the Cathedral, but with scenery of a witch flying overhead, and Huffman standing guard as a brave Knight in beautiful armor.
“How do we know that’s Huffman?” Paimon flits closer.
“It could be me,” Kaeya says, triumphant at last.
“It is not,” Albedo reminds him.
Kaeya carves a Dodoco symbol because honestly, he loved their Island adventure and isn’t over it yet. He’s just waiting to be able to return to there, or somewhere else that’s nice and warm and has treasure chests to open. Lumine already knows she’ll be bringing him to Sumeru.
Kazuha carves a maple leaf and cat. He sings while he does, along with Venti, their voices rising through the tavern, setting the mood for the others. Xiao taps his foot along with their song, giving them a beat.
Xiao carves a crystalfly because he loves Lumine, and he looks over and she’s wearing the one he gave her. His heart does little backflips, and he smiles.
Beside him, Zhongli is actually very bad at carving with his hands, he’s used to creating with stones. He tries a few times, going slow through his pumpkin, and manages to carve a cute bat. “That’s adorable,” Lumine says, making him smile and blush.
“What about mine?” Childe carves a ruin guard on one side, and a fish on the other.
“I like the contrast,” Lumine says, admiring his handiwork.
Paimon carves a small flower.
Lumine smiles to see the design. “This is my favorite,” she says.
“Aw, you’re too nice to Paimon.”
“Alright everyone.” Diluc claps his hands, passing out candles. Everyone sets theirs within their pumpkins, and with a swoop of his hands, the candles light up.
Cheers fill the room.
