Work Text:
Leon could hear Luis’s heartbeat the way his head was pressed to his bare chest. The steady beat resonated through his whole body- like a wordless chant, telling him that they were both alive, and safe for the time being. Leon found being entwined with the man on the shitty couch, sweating, feeling his rough fingers work their way through his hair, was somehow much harder to bear than the heated, frantic intimacy the two of them had just engaged in. That was driven by lust, he supposed. Lust, desire, the need to let off some steam in the middle of an intense situation. But this tenderness that came afterwards wasn't something Leon could prepare for. It meant he had to think about his developing feelings, and come face to face with them. He didn't have time to think about his complicated feelings. He didn't have time to bed down with any locals, either, but one thing led to another and they needed to kill time...
What happened, happened, Leon told himself. There wasn't any changing the situation he was in. No matter how difficult it was to face for him, he was being embraced by a gorgeous foreign man who happened to save his life.
“Hey uh, Luis?” Leon said quietly, breaking the silence that enveloped the two of them.
“Yes, Sancho?” Leon could feel his face redden again. That stupid nickname. The first time he heard it was the first time he began to think about the possibility of his developing admiration for the other man. Now look where he was- laying on him, with every stroke of his fingers in his hair driving more butterflies into his stomach.
“If we get outta this hell hole do you think maybe we could... do something more... civilized than having me on my hands and knees?”
Luis gave a small hum.
“What, like, head?” he said with a playful smile.
Leon let out a sharp exhale. “No, I mean- Jeez Luis, I mean like... taking you out to dinner sometime or something.” He could feel a bead of sweat run down his temple. He would prefer being face to face with a hundred of those monsters outside then trying to ask a guy on a date. He was just intoxicated by Luis, who was now taking his other hand and running it ever so softly up and down Leon's bare ribs. It was hard to think clearly.
“Mmm, mi guapito, I think I would like that.” And with that, Leon nuzzled back into Luis’s chest and drifted off to the first sleep he had had for a long time- he was done with trying to think through his feelings for the moment.
