Work Text:
It had been a long day for Lilith, her parents had woken her up very early in the morning saying it was time for their annual family hike and as it turned out the plan had been made days ago but no one had remembered to tell her, typical. One moment she was in her comfortable bed, and suddenly she was rushed out of bed early in the morning and had breakfast porridge placed before her. Lilith wasn't a big fan of her family's hikes, it seemed like a waste of time as she could rather be learning or practicing her spells, but instead, she has to climb hills and crawl out of knee-deep mud.
This year's trip was a little different though, because, for the first time, the four Clawthornes didn't go alone, but they were joined by Eda's mint-green-haired partner, because as Gwen had said they were also a family now. Young Bard had seemed so excited when the Clawthornes had picked them up from their house that morning, and Eda had been so excited to share her family's tradition with them that she had jumped on them for a big hug and excitedly explained all the plans they had.
Oh, Lilith even felt a little sorry for Raine, since they had no idea what was in store for them, and it was hard for Lilith to watch Raine show more and more of their exhaustion as the day went by. It was certain that they were not used to walking long miles through the forest, climbing up stone walls, and wrestling their way through thick brush. They hadn't said anything, though Lilith could see how hard they were trying to keep up with Eda and her family, bravely pretending they were fine. At some point, however, Eda seemed to notice their exhaustion, and throughout the rest of the hike, Eda carried them on her back, even though they protested at first, Eda was determined to help them through this hike.
"What kind of girlfriend would I be if I let you walk even one step on those aching feet?" she had said as she kissed their cheek and picked them up," Make yourself comfortable, Rainestorm, as you have a reserved seat on the taxi Eda,"
They blushed terribly at this and forgot all protest as they wrapped their legs around Eda's waist and rested their head on top of hers, their arms resting around her shoulders. Gwen had taken so many pictures of them and commented on what a beautiful thing young love was. Lilith didn't understand that, she didn't understand romance, and how anyone would willingly carry someone else around as if it wasn't a burden but a pleasurable activity. Sometimes she thought her sister was completely crazy, but that's what romantic love is, right? The thing that drives people crazy, and makes them act soft and sweet with each other?
When they finally got home, Eda and Raine went up to Eda's room, and Lilith wanted to go and take a long shower to wash off all the sweat and mud that was on her and then go and take a good nap, but her parents stopped her by saying they forgot to buy a few things for lunch, and they have to go to the market to buy them, which meant that Lilith had to keep an eye on her sister to make sure she didn't get into trouble, which, knowing Eda, was very likely.
She sighed and collapsed onto the couch in the living room, she couldn't fall asleep, but that didn't mean she couldn't rest for a few minutes, because hey, how much mischief could two fifteen-year-olds get up to in a few minutes? Just a few minutes and then Lilith will go and check on them. She was pretty sure they were both resting or watching a movie since Eda had dragged the crystal ball into her room the night before, and Raine seemed really tired anyway. Lilith wasn't quite sure how long she had been lying there, probably only a few minutes before she pushed herself off the sofa to go upstair, quickly check what her sister was doing, and then go and finally wash herself clean of the mess she brought from the forest with some warm water.
The upstairs was surprisingly quiet, and she was sure the two younger teenagers were asleep, but moments before she walked past the door to Eda's room, she heard a strange sound that sounded like moaning. She froze in mid-step, ears perking up, she believed she had misheard, then a voice whispered, "Mhh...be gentle,"
"Just relax, Rainestorm,” her sister's voice replied softly, “Relax and let me take care of you,”
Lilith's eyebrow rose as her head slowly turned towards the door. What were those two doing in there?
"Mhh...” came a broken moan, causing Lilith's eyes to widen in horror.
"How does it feel?"
"Good…slightly painful,” Raine replied, their voice giddy.
"It shouldn't hurt for long, it should just feel nice soon. Tell me if it hurts too much, will ya? I will stop immediately."
A few short seconds passed during which Lilith tried to convince herself that it was not what she feared it was. Because how could that be? They are still kids, two innocent fifteen-year-olds who have not even been together for a year. Their relationship hadn't gone that far yet, had it?
"Oh," Raine's voice came again, followed by another satisfied sound, and their voice saying, "Right there, Calamity!"
Okay, no...not gonna happen! Not on her watch! What do these two think they are doing? THEY ARE TOO YOUNG FOR THIS, just two kids who obviously didn't even have taken the right protection mechanisms before they started doing something like THIS. No, no, no, she had to stop them before they made a big mistake.
As fast as she could, she jumped towards the door of her sister's room, and without any hesitation slammed the door open, "Stop it! You two are way too young for this!" she yelled at them, covering her eyes with her hand so she wouldn't see anything that would make her want to wash her eyes with acid.
"Umm...do what exactly?” Eda's confused voice asked.
"That," she replied, making figurative movements with the hand that was not currently covering her eyes, "You know, the...that,"
"Amm, you good, Lilith?" asked Raine now also confused.
Why did they ask if she was all right? She should ask them that! If there was one thing Lilith had learned in health classes, it was that these activities and stupid teenagers didn't mix!
"Why you ask?" she asked, removing her hand from her eyes and looking up at them as if she forgot that she didn't want to see whatever it was they were doing, but she remembered when she saw them, and her face instantly filled with understanding and embarrassment. "Oh..."
There the two were, in Eda's bed, Raine lying down with their feet resting in Eda's lap, her hands holding one of Raine's feet as if she had been massaging it to help them release the pain that had accumulated there during the hike. They both looked confused, just staring at Lilith who had burst into the room as if she had grown another head.
Oh...they were just...
"You all right there, Lils?" the younger sister asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Umm, yes, I was just...just telling you that Mom and Dad are out so...don't get in any trouble!"
Neither Eda nor Raine seemed to believe her, but the younger redhead still said, "Sure thing, Lily, we were about to take a nap anyway,"
"Good, do that, not...anything else..." Lilith looked around the room as if she was looking for an escape route and forgot that the door was open behind her.
"The door is behind you, ya know," Raine said, and immediately the older witch looked over her shoulder, understanding suddenly visible in her eyes.
Awkwardly she took a step back and told them before closing the door, "Thanks, umm yeah...bye!" the door closed and they both heard Lilith leaving with quick footsteps.
Eda and Raine turned their eyes to each other and burst out laughing for several long minutes, "What was that about?" Raine asked their girlfriend who was wiping tears of laughter from their eyes.
"No idea, but that was gold. I've never seen her so flustered, I hope she didn't get bitten by something in the woods or get sunstroke,” as she recovered from her laughter, she resumed her previous work, gently massaging the aching pads under her partner's soles with her fingers.
Raine whimpered in pain, their feet had started hurting after the third hour of their hike, and by noon they were so sore that every step was excruciating and made them curse that they had put on new shoes they hadn't worn in before. But as Eda calmly massaged them, the pain melted into a soothing comfort that helped them relax between the pillows.
"Feel better?” she asked with a smirk, moving on to Raine's other foot, giving it the same treatment.
"Yeah, that really helps," they replied, opening one of their eyes slightly and smiling at her, "Thanks, Calamity,"
"Don't thank me, Rainestorm, you've helped me so much with grudgby injuries,”
"Still, you're wonderful,"
"Yeah, I am," she smiled, but her smile turned sly when she noticed Raine's eyes were closing again, and after a few moments, she had made up her mind, grabbing their legs with one hand and starting to tickle them with her other.
"EDA!" they laughed, kicking their feet," Stop it?"
"Why? You're so cute when you're at my mercy,"
They tried to free their leg from her grip, but not really hard, "You are evil, you are tormenting a witch in pain!" they grinned.
"So you want me to stop?" she asked but got no answer, her smile grew when she saw them biting their lip, trying to swallow their laughter.
A little later, however, she let go of their legs, and when they calmed down again, she propped a pillow under their feet and laid down beside them on the bed. Still giggling, Raine opened their arms allowing Eda to snuggle closer to them, and they fell into a comfortable silence, cuddling each other. They both felt quite sleepy, and they were so comfortable that falling asleep would have been so easy, but there was still one question on Eda's mind that she wanted to ask her partner.
"I wonder what Lily thought we were doing here?"
Raine shrugged a little, resting their head in their girlfriend's red hair, "I guess she thought we were pulling some kind of prank? What else could she be thinking?"
"Yeah, you're right,"
