They laid down on his bed. Looking at the ceiling where she had come down from earlier today. Their hands are mere inches apart; in a way they know they should be intertwined but things simply don’t feel ready yet.
The moonlight shines through the window as cars continue populate the soundscape of Brooklyn. There are no lights, things are tranquil and still.
At a moment like this, words aren’t really needed. They each turn on their side facing each other. Her hand moves to cup his cheek and she proceeds to run them down his face. He feels the blood rush to his head but stays still, and feels like if he moved, this moment would shatter like glass.
She moves closer and kisses him on the lips.
Electricity pulses through his body. She tastes like heaven.

Gwen feels like she’s in another dimension. Well she knows how that really feels, but this is how she thought it would.
Here she is, kissing this boy who she’s fallen for, who she can communicate with without saying a word, and someone who understands everything she does.
Their lips separate and they look at each other, smiling.
Their fingers intertwine.
His eyes shine in the moonlight.
“I think I actually feel happy right now,” she says quietly. So quiet that only he can hear.
“I’ll always be around to make you happy,” he responds, almost shyly.
She chuckles as they embrace.
She lays on his chest and feels his heart beating.
Her strokes her hair as her eyes close.
For once, she felt like she was home.
