   Summary

   When Emily flexes the pages back and forth a few times to crease and loosen the rigid spine she might as well be cracking open JJ’s chest, peeling back layers of skin, muscle, sinew, and sawing through breast bone to reveal her heart.

   JJ can’t stop her.

   Maybe she doesn’t want to.

   Maybe it was for this moment, for the infinitesimal chance that Emily Prentiss would find this obscure book of poetry by an anonymous local writer with no other work to their pseudonym, that Jennifer Jareau had published it to begin with.
